I bought a Living Social Deal for this place but sadly I could not redeem. I was trying to make reservations and the owner told me that his paddleboards were missing because someone did not return them for a few days. I was a little sad because I paid $10 per person for a 1 hour paddleboard session, which in my opinions, is the cheapest deal I've seen! The owner, Mike, was so kind to email and text me to let me know what had happened. He was super nice!! He said that he would give me a full refund for the two tickets that I purchased, and also, give me free kayak rentals since there was a bit of a dilemma. I took up on that offer, emailed Mike, and made reservations to do a tandem kayak for an hour on a Sunday at noon. Mike is all about customer service and wants to make customers satisfied so he offered to throw in another hour for free! My sister and I got to the beach, with the help of Mike's perfect directions, and we laid out for about an hour. We got side street parking! (FREE!) Mike came 2 minutes before noon and unloaded our kayaks. He was so nice to give us some ziplock bags to put our phones in so they don't get wet. My sister and I had a blast! Although it was a bit windy so we were going against the wind! We kayaked for about an hour and 15 minutes. Too bad we couldn't do the two hours. It is definitely a great arm workout! Once we were done, I just texted Mike and docked our kayaks on the beach and that was it! I would definitely come here again! Hope you get your kayaks back soon!! I would highly recommend renting from here. I rented two kayaks for $20 each and the owner Mike was really friendly and helpful. Life vests and floating phone protectors are provided. The kayaks were good quality and pretty comfortable. You can kayak around the Balboa peninsula or a nature preserve. Was slightly hard to find but Mike was super detailed in directions to help find the location. I had a great time and would definitely come back here again to rent kayaks or Paddleboards. read more

I called Mike and he didn't pick up at first but I received text messages from him. He was very helpful and responsive. He answered all the questions I had and even told me about the summer special! The special is rent one paddle board or kayak for 2 hours and get the 2nd paddle board or kayak for free. The total came out to $40 for 2 people for 2 hours! That's a really good deal. Not only was the deal awesome, Mike stayed in touch and brought the boards out for us to the beach. He was also very relaxed and told us to hangout for 2.5 hours if we want. He was VERY NICE and VERY helpful. Thank you so much! The area we did SUP was also super cool. It was very pretty and it was next to the Beach Concert Series so we were able to see some people partying up while we SUP our way around haha. I would highly recommend renting from here!! We booked a motor boat and absolutely loved the experience with this company! They did a great job setting everything up, gave us a lot of waterproof pouches and were very generous with how much "buffer" time they gave us. This was an easy kayak/SUP place to come to without having made a reservation. We rented 2 SUPs and the employees were helpful in getting us into the water/steadying us. They were also pretty chill about the time limit and gave us some nice wiggle room. A great place to go for a planned or spontaneous trip out on the water. Mike is spectacular! The website asks to call or text in order to ensure that there are kayaks available for the time that you would like. I texted the number and received a text from Mike right away. He is very friendly and answers any questions you may have. He even gives you step by step instructions on how to get to the location. He offers these little water proof pouches to keep your phone safe while kayaking. We went out for two hours and it was just truly lovely. Mike stated that there was a 7 mile long nature preserve area to the left so we went to the left and were able to see tons of wildlife that was just spectacular. It could not have been a better experience. For the price you pay, you will have no complaints. It is just fabulous. One of the nicest establishments I've ever experienced! At first i was skeptical because every time i called i kept getting a voicemail so finally i left a voicemail out of desperation cause usually i never like to leave them since i feel like business owners don't call you back. However, To my surprise, Mike replied to my voicemail and helped me set up a reservation date. But what made he's customer service phenomenal was that he extended my Groupon expiration date since i called the day before my Groupon expired and they were completely booked. So my tip here is to book a week in advance. Also for the actual kayaking experience, what makes this place special is that it's in a secluded private beach unlike the harbor where boats may run into you from time to time.
