Pricing is fair, and they don't start your time until you go into the water. We've been here once…read morebefore and had a great time, which is why we figured bringing some friends out to celebrate a birthday would be worthwhile. However, the customer service we experienced put a damper on the celebration. We brought a group of 14 on a Saturday afternoon and were told we needed to call ahead of time for a group larger than 8. Nowhere on their website or Yelp indicates a reservation is required for a group larger than 8. In fact, their website states walk-ins are welcome, but groups of 20 or more require a reservation. I'd recommend updating your website if the reservation requirements have changed. The guy at the counter pointed at their graveyard of broken kayaks as an excuse despite not even asking whether we wanted to paddle board or kayak. He stepped aside to call the owner about our large group and eventually okayed us to use their rentals. When we told him most of us wanted to paddle board and we needed only 2 tandem kayaks, he admitted he assumed we each wanted single kayaks--which he would have had to bring down to the water. It sounded like he was too lazy to bring single kayaks out for all of us, but we would have gladly helped if he had asked. Lucky for him, the paddle boards and kayaks we needed were already ready by the water for us. He made a big deal out of nothing. We did enjoy our time out on the water and brought back the rentals an hour before close. However, we all were very turned off by the customer service we received and will likely look for a new kayak/paddle board rental place to bring our business to. This experience definitely did not leave a good first impression to our friends who had not been here before.

The owner, Mike, was so kind to email and text me to let me know what had happened. He was super nice!! He said that he would give me a full refund for the two tickets that I purchased, and also, give me free kayak rentals since there was a bit of a dilemma. I took up on that offer, emailed Mike, and made reservations to do a tandem kayak for an hour on a Sunday at noon. Mike is all about customer service and wants to make customers satisfied so he offered to throw in another hour for free! My sister and I got to the beach, with the help of Mike's perfect directions, and we laid out for about an hour. We got side street parking! (FREE!) Mike came 2 minutes before noon and unloaded our kayaks. He was so nice to give us some ziplock bags to put our phones in so they don't get wet. My sister and I had a blast! Although it was a bit windy so we were going against the wind! We kayaked for about an hour and 15 minutes. Too bad we couldn't do the two hours. It is definitely a great arm workout! Once we were done, I just texted Mike and docked our kayaks on the beach and that was it! I would definitely come here again! Hope you get your kayaks back soon!! Riding on the water bikes was really fun! We rode around the bay and the water was choppy sometimes but as you get inside the bay, the water is calmer. A trick is that if you feel the water is too choppy, start paddling - the water will calm down with the pedaling. There are several boats around which provided live music for us. The bike has two cup holders and a front container to put your phones and small stuff in. We had a great time. They share a parking lot with nearby restaurants which offer 3 hours of free parking. That is a huge plus for something near the beach! We will be back next time to try a glow ride.

WOW!!! I'm not sure where to begin? From the moment I spoke to Carrie on the phone, until the minute my boyfriend and I left-we felt like family. This IS a family owned business, and their story is wonderful. She is an amazing mom, to two equally amazing children. This business is for her children, and the love they have for the environment and their community shows. I had never been paddle boarding, but lovely Balboa Island is the perfect setting for beginners. We had booked one hour, but the minute I stood up, I was hooked! We ended up keeping the boards for half of the day. It did get a bit windy, but we ended up paddling over to a few restaurants where we were able to "valet" the boards, and grab a small bite. She provided a water proof case for our phones, which was perfect, because she had a small speaker that we were able to pair up and listen to music while we paddled around the harbor. We couldn't have had a better experience. I can't express enough gratitude for such a lovely day on the water. If you want to truly have the best experience on and off of the water, go and visit Paradise Paddle. You're sure to have a blast! read more

Such an amazing experience with Paradise Paddle! We met Carre (the owner) while at Fashion Island and she had everything ready for us when we arrived at Balboa Island, so seamless. The water was beautiful, the day was perfect, and it was such a peaceful, fun way to celebrate my husband's birthday. What really stood out was the intentionality, when we got back, she had a cupcake that said "Happy Birthday" and waters waiting for us. Completely unexpected and so thoughtful. Highly recommend if you're in Newport Beach. We didn't want to leave! read more

I made up some fresh yellowtail (hamachi) poke and brought tortilla chips to go with the charcuterie. One lady brought a couple of bottles of wine and we all enjoyed munching and sipping away the afternoon. We've done this before and will do it again. I highly recommend Newport Elite Cruises for a wonderful couple of hours.

Their restrooms are located on the side of the building and are open to the public. The reason we came to NAC is that they offer a perfect launch spot for paddle sports. This area of Newport Back Bay is very calm and leads into the estuary. It's a beautiful place to paddle, with abundant bird life and waterfowl, as well as "flying" fish, and no doubt an abundance of marine life below the surface. Besides being a launch point, many families with young children also appreciate the calm water here. The area between beach and boundary can be swum in and is quite shallow. As a side note, once out on the water beyond this boundary, one cannot swim or exit their paddle craft. There is a parking lot for NAC but there's also a large dirt lot for visitors, for the amazing price of $0! Great access, beautiful wetlands, calm waters...this is a perfect place for all types of paddlers, nature enthusiasts, and families looking for a quieter alternative to the beach.

There is even a fireplace, which makes it perfect for sunset cruises. What I really loved is that this is a full service experience. You have a captain in uniform, music ready to go, a fridge, alkaline water, cups, everything you need so you can just show up and enjoy. Cruising through the harbor, seeing the homes, the boats, the wildlife... it is one of those experiences that makes you stop and appreciate where you are. They also partner with a catering company, so you can have food brought directly to the boat, or you can bring your own. You can even have the boat decorated, which would be perfect for birthdays, date nights, or special occasions. In our case, we turned it into a team bonding day for our real estate group, and it ended up being one of the most fun and memorable experiences we have had together. If you are coming to Newport Beach, this is something you need to do. It is such an easy way to create a really special day without having to plan every little detail.
