1 STAR ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID THIS PLACE. Newport Fun Tours completely ruined the last night of our family vacation. I have never experienced such a complete lack of accountability, urgency, or basic customer service from a business that supposedly operates in the hospitality industry. We booked a 2-hour excursion for our family of 6, including 4 children, and paid for a charcuterie board through the vendor Newport Fun Tours recommended. The vendor did exactly what they were supposed to do. They prepared the board, delivered it ahead of time, and personally placed it on the top shelf of the refrigerator. We arrive for our 6:30 excursion excited to enjoy our evening, only to find out that OUR FOOD WAS GONE. Not misplaced. Not delayed. Gone. The vendor confirmed on speakerphone that she personally delivered it and put it in the refrigerator. At that point, Newport Fun Tours should have been horrified, investigated what happened, and immediately tried to make it right. Instead, their response was essentially: "We're busy. I don't know who took it." Seriously??? Your staff had accepted and stored food belonging to a paying customer, that food mysteriously disappeared while in your possession, and somehow that became our problem? We had four hungry kids getting ready to spend two hours on a boat with no dinner. We explained the situation repeatedly. We asked for a manager. We asked for a supervisor. We asked for someone--ANYONE--to actually take ownership of the situation. Nothing. No meaningful solution. No apology that matched the seriousness of the situation. No attempt to replace the food. No attempt to reimburse us. No investigation. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. Instead, they offered us an additional 30 minutes on the excursion as if that somehow compensated for our dinner being stolen/disappearing and our family being left standing there frustrated and hungry. And when I asked for management contact information? They gave me a generic online booking email. That was the final straw. This wasn't some minor inconvenience. This was our family's vacation. We planned this excursion in advance, paid good money for it, ordered food specifically for our family, and showed up expecting the experience we paid for. Instead, Newport Fun Tours couldn't even keep track of the food their own recommended vendor delivered--and then couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. Mistakes happen. Theft happens. Things get misplaced. What matters is how a business responds when something goes wrong. Newport Fun Tours' response was basically "Not our problem." If you're considering booking with this company, PLEASE think twice. If something goes wrong, don't expect anyone to take ownership or actually help you. They apparently have no problem taking your money, shrugging their shoulders when there's a problem, and sending you on your way. The boat ride may have been fine, but the customer service was absolutely atrocious. Newport Fun Tours: you didn't just lose a charcuterie board. You ruined what was supposed to be a special final night of our family's vacation. And the fact that nobody there seemed to care is what makes this experience completely unacceptable. ONE STAR ONLY BECAUSE ZERO STARS ISN'T AN OPTION. AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

We used this boat rental company last week and I was impressed with several things. Their online rep, Nicole, guided me through their rental process, expectations and great deals they had going on. We took a group of 12, including international guests visiting our office and they had such an amazing time. One of our own drove the boat, but there are options to hire captains which is nice. The front desk was very communicative and got us what we needed. And the men that helped us get our boat ready were friendly and explained safety procedure clearly. 2 hours was a perfect amount of time. Sad to turn my review into a one star review, but my latest experience with one of the staff members of Newport Fun Tours needs to be addressed. I went with a group of friends for a Duffy boat rental at Newport Fun Tours. Upon arrival, a large group of people were standing outside the restrooms. Apparently, right before we arrived, a drunk man had rushed into the women's restroom and vomited and peed on the floor. There was vomit on the sidewalk outside as proof. A group of women sort of banded together and all went into the men's restroom together. There was no other choice! A few minutes later, my friend arrived needing to use the restroom. I led her to the men's restroom. Mind you -- no man needing to use it in sight! Suddenly, a Newport Fun Tours employee came up to us and told us we could NOT enter the men's restroom. We explained the situation to him, but he did not budge. My poor friend was told to go speak to the parking attendant for permission? Not sure why. While she was gone, the man continued to almost stand guard in front of the men's restroom. He told me he couldn't let us because a few weeks ago a man saw a woman in the men's restroom and got upset. I said, sir, I will stand guard in front of the restroom door telling any men that come up in the 30 seconds it takes my friend to pee that she is unable to use the women's restroom due to vomit on the floor. The parking attendant (who I guess is the boss!) told my friend to just use the men's restroom, which is what she did while this employee just stood and stared at the door. Such a hill to die on. We went on our boat, and upon arrival back at Newport Fun Tours, about 2 hours after the initial incident, a friend and I went into the women's restroom. The sight of vomit on the floor, that we had to step in to get to the stalls, was disgusting. Worse though was the intense smell of vomit we were forced to smell while we used the restroom. It seems that these restrooms are shared facilities between Newport Fun Tours and other businesses, but someone needs to step up and take responsibility for them. Maybe Newport Fun Tours needs to try to ensure that people don't get trashed on the water to the point that they vomit in public restrooms. To be told that we couldn't use the one restroom available because we weren't men ... with no men around!! ... was ridiculous. Even more so was returning to shore and finding the restrooms in the same state hours later. I'll likely go elsewhere for my Duffy boat rentals in the future. read more

Every year my BIL will rent a boat for our family. This year my BIL rented a 12 person boat fro Newport Fun Tours. Our reservation was at 10am for 9 people and we arrived 15 minutes early. We were asked to wait until our time. We were able to bring on food and drinks which we brought plenty of. Be aware that there are only two cup holders for our 12 person boat. It wasn't a big deal to us but I can see it being annoying for others. They have bluetooth speakers that you can hook up to play music from your phones. We had about a 90 minute boat ride where my dad was driving and it was perfect. We made it to Balboa and back. It was a nice ride and the perfect amount of time. We were all comfortable and the boat was clean. There was a clear shield at the front of the boat so no harsh wind. There was also an overhead above so none of us were directly in the sun. Babies weren't required but kids were asked to wear the life jackets they provided. Once we were done they asked us to leave any trash and they would clean it up. We gave them some tip after. Our experience was a good one with Newport Fun Tours. You can park in their paid parking structure. And if you need to use the restroom before or after then they have clean restrooms nearby the office. read more
