Seems like, if you're a spectator- you'll enter thru the right side gate and drive along a compact dirt road to find parking. Once parked- you'll trek on dirt to the first set of bleachers (on the right side of the drag strip) But, once you cross over the paved staging lanes - you'll trek can access additional bleachers- the newly remodeled bathroom building and the snack shack. We arrived later in the morning- think by 10am. Feel free to walk around and check the cars (motorcycles- depending on the event you're attending) lined up for their races. Or walk by the trailers, to Looky Lou. The snack shack offers simple items. Hot dogs- which were huge! Nachos, fries, hamburgers, root beer floats, drinks. They do accept card at the snack shack. There's no shade provided- so, be mindful of that. Luckily out visit was very gloomy- which worked for me. Still brought some sunglasses. The speaker system works amazing. What I nearly choked on was the entrance fee. There's no price signage as you approach the entrance. It's $20 per person! (Adult?) I wonder if there's a price difference for kids? Guess, I assumed it's per vehicle?

I am so surprised that I have not yet reviewed this Amphitheater. It is currently called the Cal…read moreCoast Credit Union Amphitheater, but I always think of it as the "SDSU Open Air Theater". Regardless, it is generally a great place to catch a show. Through the years, I have seen many great shows here including Flogging Molly, The Shins, Prince, Interpol, and many others. I hadn't been in a couple years, but last week my husband and I went to see The Human Leave, Soft Cell, and Alison Moyet (Yaz). It was an incredible show. Starting out, there are a few things that I dislike about the venue. First, because it is on a college campus, parking can be difficult and you are basically forced into the $30 paid parking garage. Also, I was suffering from a recent sports injury, making the trek across campus to the theater a bit of a task. In the past, the lines for swag and drinks have been nearly impossible, though, this time, they were much improved. Finally, the trek to the ladies' room is a bit far depending on your seat. Also, it is not a large restroom and the line goes slowly, However, it is clean. On the flip side, there are a lot of positive points to this venue. The location is generally decent as it is not far from town. Despite the crowds coming in for shows, it doesn't take too long to get in and out of the parking lots. The event staff consists of many college students working concessions or ushering, and they are very friendly. It is really a nice, open, outdoor, relaxing venue. There is not a bad seat in the house (as many other reviews state). I have been in front, in back, and in the middle. I have been able to see and hear the show very well from each of my seats. It has also been my experience that the crowd has been generally a well-behaved, polite group, though I guess you can't alway count on that. All in all, it is a great place to catch a show, especially during the beautiful San Diego summer months.

We were so disgusted that we decided to leave our seats and go to the back in hopes of avoiding them, but they were literally everywhere and people were stepping on them too. So gross.... Aside from the unwanted visitors, the venue itself was pretty cool! It's an outdoor amphitheater with not a single bad seat in the house.

I would say security wasn't super crazy I was a little surprised. I had a clear purse so they paid no attention to it whatsoever but did walk through a metal detector. It is fairly quick to get inside. There's a lot of food and beverage options but be aware this is event priced items. I bought two beers for myself and a friend and it cost almost $50 with tip. This wouldn't stop me from coming back here, I've been many times before and I'm sure I'll be back many times after this. Definitely if you have mobility issues be aware of what you're in for which is stairs on stairs. There are very long ramps between the first second and third floors, but to get to any of the seats you do have to take stairs.

Parking $50 minimum Food RIP OFF…read more Snapdragon Stadium should be one of the best places in San Diego to watch soccer. The stadium itself is beautiful. The grounds, surrounding park areas, and overall design are fantastic. The seating is great, the sightlines are excellent, and the atmosphere during a San Diego FC match is genuinely fun. The fans bring energy and the venue has all the ingredients to be a top-tier experience. Unfortunately, the entire experience gets ruined by the absolutely outrageous cost of food, drinks, and parking. This is an MLS game, not the Super Bowl. Yet the prices inside the stadium make it feel like you're attending a once-in-a-lifetime championship event. If you're trying to build a strong fan base, especially among families, this pricing strategy makes absolutely no sense. A family should not feel like they're taking out a second mortgage just to buy a couple hot dogs and drinks during a regular weekend match. The result is obvious when you look around the stadium -- there are empty seats everywhere. This place should be packed and turning people away. Instead, many fans simply choose not to come because the basics are priced so ridiculously high. Parking is another problem entirely. The contract must of been one of those Godfather signatures, "They were made an offer they couldn't refuse," because the prices are completely out of control, and the way it's communicated is even worse. There is almost no clear signage anywhere directing you to lots or showing prices ahead of time. You either have to look it up online beforehand or find out the price when you're already pulling up to someone taking your credit card. Suddenly you're being charged $50 for the Orange Lot with no prior warning. That's not just expensive, it feels deceptive. Then there's the food itself. On top of the extreme pricing, some of the portion sizes are laughable. The sandwiches we received for our family were tiny for what they cost. Paying premium prices for underwhelming portions just adds insult to injury. Until this pricing model changes, I will not be coming back to another game. For anyone thinking about attending: Take the trolley, eat before you go, or plan to eat afterward. Do not plan to spend money inside the stadium unless you enjoy feeling like you've been ripped off. This venue could easily become one of the best soccer experiences in the country -- but right now, the greed around food, drinks, and parking is driving fans away. Family day this weekend and there were just empty seats, there were empty rows and sections.

Of all of the sports I might imagine having an affinity for, I have to say, lawn bowling has not…read morebeen hovering at the top of that list. However, when a bunch of my elders, whom I greatly respect, give up their Saturday gaming and agree to get their requisite whites dirty to show a bunch of hoodlums how to play, they have my attention and best effort. Forget that we may or may not have been drinking and we may have made an unsavory joke or two in what we were informed, quite promptly, is a family establishment (can establishments be a well groomed grassy playing court in a park?). Those little snafus aside I was going to give this lopsided ball rolling my best go. Did you know that not only are the balls lopsided but they are weighted heavier to one side so that there will always be a curve out or in when you roll them? I didn't either but thanks to my stellar lesson I do now!! So, I roll the balls for the first time and, wow, its fun! In all of my alcohol induced glee I decided it was a great idea to take on the ultimate challenge and play the US Lawn Bowling Champion. And. I. Beat. Him. What??? Yep, the crowd went wild. I won a very nice polo shirt. Bells were rung, I, one by one, shook the hand of each of the lawn bowling club members present that day, who also happen to have a great sense of humor about these things. I was invited to watch this very same player compete in the World Championship happening in San Francisco this September. Lawn Bowling. Who knew?? I am going to buy some white pants and do this again. Yes. I am purchasing white pants. If that doesn't say love I don't know what does.

I saw a daily deal for a party for 10 at the lawn bowling club and jumped on it. When we arrived on the day of the party, we were met by a handful of ... well, lawn bowling people. They were all super helpful. They helped us all pick out our "bowls" (a set of 4 lawn bowling balls that fit your hand) then we went to the field to play. They explained the rules (there are a LOT -- way more than I expected!) and then they helped us while we played. The bowls are oblong and have a weight on one side, which means you have to really think about where you are aiming. The helpers were all patient and nice, but if I had any small recommendations, it would be that they hang back after a while and just let us play without critiquing and commenting on every shot. But they were just trying to be helpful. Everyone in my group had a great time and some even signed up for a membership. There was a big discount for the membership that day ($68), but normally it is $165/yr. With a membership, you can pretty much go to play whenever you want. If you are curious about lawn bowling, you should give it a try. Call them up and see if they have any special deals or rates for a first timer who wants to try it out. It's a great way to spend a day in the lovely San Diego sun. (And the all-white clothing is only required in Sundays!)

What a cool little foodie experience full of tasty, yet somewhat pricey, Greek foods. Luckily I got a flyer in the mail for free entry, otherwise I believe it was $4. I tried a number of Greek foods such as: Pork Souvlaki ($15 for 2 skewers, tzatziki, and bread)- The tzatziki was awesome, but the pork was lacking flavor and some pieces were really tough. Saganaki ($10)- Delicious, delicious, delicious. So good that I bought some pita ($4) and Vlahotyri cheese ($17.75) to make this at home. Galaktoboureko ($5) Phyllo dough pastry "burrito" with a marvelously delicious custard inside. Loukoumades ($13) for the medium. Fluffy, sweet, and somewhat nutty. I could have done with less syrup and more almonds, but everyone loved them! There was also a beer garden, tables to eat at, a slew of other Greek desserts (mostly cookie-like ones or baklava), 2 small markets ( one was for food and is where I got the cheese and pita), some kid games, and entertainment /dancing. Such a great opportunity to take your little dog children to the movies with you…read more Make sure that you have the specific dog friendly ticket to bring your dogs. They do have a discounted parking at the hotel where the movie place is located. However, it wasn't really hard to find some street parking around the area. They do have a small elevator that takes you up to the rooftop of the hotel. So if your little fur children are in a stroller that would still be ok to bring them with you. There was a lady that checked us in and based on the ticket you have purchased, it is first come first serve for the seating. They did not have any umbrella for seating, however we were there for an evening movie so that wasn't a concern for us. But I do believe it will get really hot during the day without the umbrella. The place was packed, however all of the dogs that we were with were very well behaved. They also handed out free dog popcorn, which was a nice touch. Also, this is a headphone required movie theater. And that was helpful when you have airplanes pass by during the movie. The flooring was a fake grass, which was great for my dog to just lay on the ground during the movie. Giving them a little bit of comfort. Overall, I will definitely be back for dog friendly night and I believe my child also had a great day. P.s. I had to change the date from the original purchase and the email response from them was quick and easy. I was able to get refund the ticket as a credit and book a different date! 5 starts on customer service
