    Clean and comfortable waiting area.

We have been taking our Turbo Beatle here for years and they treat us like gold. Super convenient and excellent service. They have gone the extra mile several times to make our repairs less painful. Highly recommend.

This is what Balise VW left in the back of my car, Never mentioned it, and I discovered this when I opened the rear gate.

I brought my VW in for an oil change. For the most part, this is a pretty straight forward procedure, especially for a VW Dealership. When I picked my car up, I went home. The following day, I went to work. When I left work, I noticed a huge puddle of oil below my car. Keep in mind, this car has never leaked anything, and we'll taken care of, so this greatly concerned me. I spoke to VW, and they were responsive and told me come drop my car off at my convenience. I did just that, and was informed shortly there after that my car was ready. I got yet another ride back, and got my car, and went home. When I got home, I opened the rear gate, and there was the belly pan to my car, covered in oil, have in a clear plastic bag, on top of some paper. This was rather disappointing, but at least they had fixed the leaking oil situation. The service dept was very apologetic, and told me that I could stop by anytime, and they would rectify the situation, and reinstall the belly pan. So I did just that this morning. When I got home from work, I crawled under said vehicle to check things out. The belly pan was zip tied to my car, no joke! At no time did anyone say anything to me about any difficulties they were having with getting the pan back on. I would have had no problem buying a new one, new bolts, whatever was needed. My overall review is that the service technicians and the service department at Balise VW is extremely disappointing, careless, and not very professional. I recommend that you take your VW to ANY OTHER SERVICE CENTER, it's do not waste the time that I have with these folks....

Had another pleasant experience at Balise VW except with the service department this time. I have never had such a great all around experience with a dealership before! Keep up the good work!

I leased a VW Jetta from Balise in 2014 because I needed a car and they had a lease special.

Well, I think I'm the only person who has had an OK experience here. I purchased a 2001 Jetta in…read moreJanuary and despite all the negative reviews my car was quickly deteriorating and I needed something ASAP. Also, I'm a sucker for VW's... having my guard up I almost didn't go through with the sale as not being able to take the car to a mechanic pre-sale is a HUGE red flag, but I am young and stubborn so I took my chance. The owner did the whole car salesman thing where they say someone else is willing to pay 500 more than you and I'm not a complete idiot, I've heard that many times before and people don't take a 400.00 hit out of kindness and I don't know many people who offer more than the asking price in the first place. The car was cute, but not thaaaat cute. The next day, the check engine comes on and all the bad reviews came back to me and I was so prepared for the worst, that I was sick to my stomach. Was put in contact with his younger brother George and after checking the code it was my Cat Converter and my power steering fluid was leaking. Had the power steering fixed that weekend and waited for the cat converter. and waited. and waited. By the time I called I was beyond the 30 days and asked if the part had come in and of course, it had. Went in to get it fixed and fully expected to be charged since it was now after 30 days and I was not! Just to be sure that the light hadn't simply been reset, I took it to my regular mechanic and the Cat Converter had been replaced with a new one, it wasn't a VW one, but a universal one, which my mechanic said is OK. While this wasn't perfect and smooth, my car checked out, is driving wonderfully and hasn't given me any problems since. If it does, I'll be sure to update my review!!!! Also, everyone, even if your contract says you have no warranty, every dealership has to give a minimum of 30 day warranty in RI :) **Update, was told my timing belt was replaced, when I took it to Han's in North Kingstown (BEST place), they showed me that it was loose and the original timing belt. Called up George and it is getting fixed in three days for me with no hassle or attitude! If you have a problem with a car bought from Sandy lane, talk to George directly if possible. He has a good memory of each individual customer that he interacts with which is helpful.

So just read and reveal before you bash this company:…read more While their demeanor is "rough edged" it's not without noting; they are a large producer of vehicles; they often have their lots full; and that's both sales and service. So for all these 1 star reviews; I think they are inadequate. They are customers who were expecting a Balise, Grieco, Flood dealership; not real understanding the current supply and demands. I recently purchased the Taurus PI on Monday 2/28/22. Sod I have possession yet... no, fortunately the inherent risk of faults in a used vehicle was identified prior to my vehicle leaving the lot. And they are willingly and without obligation fixing the vehicle. So will it take a few days; yeah, it's a timing chain (a known ford weakness). Now for people to bash this company is unfair; they aren't thief's or crooks; they are trying to mass sell lots of cars. Every used car has its prior quirks; may contain an issue or two. And for people to expect that they be selling cars with 100% no issues is unreliable to trust in. I bought a Jeep Patriot from Prestige Auto; and it had a bad CV... guess what; not Prestige's fault; it's an underlying risk of buying a used vehicle. MultiPoint Inspections mainly seek out immediate drivability and service issues (low oil, not the leak causing it, tire wear- replace if needed, legal levels of brake pads.) no used car dealer is gonna strip down and check every last inch of the vehicle from actuators to xeon headlamps. As a purchaser of a used car; it's is the Customers responsibility to know and understand what work may be needed to look for; their capacity to have it done; and the capacity of if it's worth adding the expense. Every car has a chance for failure; I've seen 2022 vehicles with dead batteries and pcms. I've seen 2002 vehicles running on original parts; it's not a story of its the dealers problem; it's a story of you're accepting the ownership and responsibility of a vehicle in used condition. You chose Sandy lane; not any of the dozens of other dealers; so stop blaming them; you had options and choices; so you made the conscious decision; no one else. As for their behavior; I'd be pissy too if I was fixing all the underlying issues customers demand. Again it's NOT Sandy Lanes fault; wholesale used car lots are littered with issues; but they're trying their best, for the most part at no cost to the customer. So I will give them a 4 start; because all the 1 stars are narrowminded who look at their issues and not that of the entire sales process and the back workings

I met with Gordon (owner) and he got right down to business, checking out the damage. No attitude, or acting like I was an imposition like another local place I visited. His quote was much less than expected, and at the end of it all, workmanship better than any I've had in the past. He also showed me some antique restorations that he's working on for customers. Awesome place for a car guy needing a good bodyshop! I also noticed they sell cars as well. He explained to me how he refuses to sell any car that needed extensive body work. Unlike another place that repairs cars that should have been scrapped, they refuse to do business that way. My youngest son will be driving soon, so you can bet that I'll be visiting Atlas again to see what they have for deals.

The business isn't fancy on the outside but once inside it's a very professional operation. Met with the owner Gordon, he gave me a couple of options, and a range of the cost depending on how deep some of the rust spots went. The car came out great, I found out from one of the employees that Gordon also owns a paint shop so they blended up some paint that matched perfectly. He kept within the estimate and my overall impression is that this is an honest local business doing good work for a fair price.
