How do you leave little ones to do a partnered hitting drill by themselves? There were 5-6 instructors but they seemed to talk amongst themselves and not demonstrate or monitor the kids. Sandy stated they have students completing their degrees, who need hours coaching. So basically, volunteers who don't care. I'll keep my money. They need to reevaluate their business model and hire dedicated coaches.

I was given maybe less than a minute to stretch and get ready before my first round was up. It was nice to be able to see the workout on the screen and get some help from the trainer when needed. The staff was really nice and gave me tips when I hit the kickboxing rounds. I learned that you could drop in whenever you wanted, and there weren't structured times or appointments required since all of the workouts were on the screens. I found that I enjoy workout classes that have an actual instructor more so it wasn't for me.

But after learning to pace myself a bit more and using more of my legs and hips, got the hang of it and enjoyed both the technical skills and aerobic workout. Boxing is both intuitive and counterintuitive to me. Shannon (great instructor) explained how clenching your fists or having tension in your arms counterintuitively leads to weaker punches. And that relaxing the arms up until the moment of impact is the most effective way to punch. It feels very unnatural, until it isn't. The legwork also feels counter-intuitve initially and then it starts to make sense (ex jab as your lead foot steps forward, cross off your back foot) Good mix of both men and women, beginners and intermediates. You'll get a sweaty intense workout (if you choose to go all in), and then off-ramped by some light core work and a cooldown stretch. Pro tip: come early if it's your first time. They recommend half an hour before class. They'll help you tape up your hands, pick the right sized gloves, and show you the basics.
