I have never dealt with a company so utterly unprofessional as this one. The guy they sent out to fix my key fob was the most condescending & rude person that i have ever dealt with in my entire life. He literally talked over me the entire time on the phone and when he arrived he was so much worse. The discrimination i received from this person was absolutely horrible & humiliating. I won't go into detail at the moment because i am so full of disgust and anger with the way in which i was treated and am still trying to process it all. This company's complete lack of integrity is absolutely second to none. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau tomorrow for discrimination and will also be contacting my lawyer. I needed a key for my 2011 Toyota Sienna. I found this place right by my work. The locksmith was honest and helpful and had to order chips and other equipment to do the job. They kept me posted as to when it all arrived. Went through every detail on how to get the onboard computer to read and recognize the new keys as mine. PLUS, he gave me the key code to the doors, in case of emergency, bonus: since they have the code saved in their system, if I ever lock the keys in my car at work, they can cut me a copy to get me back in right away. Our old Turbolock electronic lock decided to stop locking and unlocking reliably so we bought a new Schlage electronic lock and tried to install it ourselves. Unfortunately both the strikeplate hole and the deadbolt hole on the door were too small and I only succeeded in enlarging part of the strikeplate hole on my own with a spade bit. We decided that we should call a professional. Called Ballard Lock & Key on a Saturday and Tyler came by on Sunday. He was on time, efficient, and friendly. We got to see him use a doorknob jig, a holesaw, a file, and a rotary tool... We found out that not only were the holes on the door too small but the edge bore hole in the frame was too low, so he had to use the rotary tool to enlarge it upwards. It was a great experience having a professional handle all this instead of us risking ruining the door or the doorframe. There were small hurdles and finicky bits about our door that Tyler dealt with smoothly. He was done in less than an hour and there was a discount for paying with cash so the price was very reasonable. He also made us 2 more keys for the lock (it only came with one). Would happily call them up if we are ever in need of a locksmith again! read more

I don't know why it has taken me so long to write this review. Bob was freakin AMAZING. I got locked out of my house on new year's day and he was at my house in MINUTES. His fun red van/truck was easy to spot & I was so happy to see it. Not only did Bob come out to rescue me ON HIS DAY OFF, he also wouldn't take my money because I've been crying for hours while trying to figure out how to get into my house when everything was closed. I was able to borrow a key from my landlord, have Bob copy it, and returned my landlord's key in less than an hour. Great communication and service from this business. We scheduled a time for a locksmith to visit and rekey our new place. They handled a reschedule request and then called on the day asking if they could come a little early for the appointment. (Nice when they don't just show up early and wonder where you are.) the locksmith, Aaron, not only rekeyed the doors but took his tool bag out and made adjustments to make the lock easier to lock one handed. Robbie is great. I called around 7 PM and by 8 the same evening he came over and re-keyed both doors. Quoted me a very reasonable price when I was really worried about how much an after-hours visit was going to cost. (78.50 for the visit, 20 for each lock that has a keyhole). He also took a look at interior doors and gave an opinion on how I could go about changing the locks/knobs on those. They are a pretty straightforward business. They provide an efficient service. My husband got locked out while taking out the trash, in his boxers. lol. I know, I laughed too. Of course, he did this while I was out of town. The guy I spoke to sent out a guy immediately. He came after 10 minutes so we were pretty relieved that he could fix the problem. It only costed about $77 including tax. Not a bad price to pay if you're standing outside in your underwear in cold weather. Since I couldn't get a hold of my husband, I called to see if the locksmith was successful. The guy was like, "look, I don't keep in constant contact with my guy." This is probably true but as a worried wife, logic doesn't always prevail in these funny but stressful situations. I guess he has a more sarcastic sense of humor. In regards to customer service, it was alright but I would have appreciated the interaction without the sarcasm. Aside from this, yelp is totally right in terms of of this business. They provide top notch service. If you can live without the pleasantries and want a fast and efficient person to help you when you're locked out, this is the place for you. They even came out same day, though that was because of an unexpected opening in their schedule.
