A friend recommended this place as I wanted a place in the area to get new set of nails but now I have to tell her to not ever recommend them as I had s horrible service there. I showed two pics of what I wanted and was given the prices. After nails done the pics I showed for ombre nails that I was told would be $55 now it's $70. The nails didn't even look that great but then to get a switch and bait price and then the guy who told me the prices got very loud and rude while I kept an even tone the entire time.... I'll not recommend this place and the number of stars given already for this place supports others who didn't have good experiences either. I should have checked the reviews before going here. I had made an appointment in advance, and it had been confirmed. I arrived 10 minutes early and was greeted by the staff. They took me to the chair, asked me what I needed, and then left me there. After waiting for thirty minutes, one of the staff members told me that someone would be with me soon. However, I ended up waiting for an additional ten minutes, and then I decided to leave. This was frustrating because I had planned to be there for just one hour during my lunch break from work. If they had let me know earlier that they were unable to provide the service, I would have rescheduled. I'm not angry, but I won't be returning to this place. It was a very relaxing process. They did a good job but there are a few things to note. This is not a short process. They do take their time, so that is good but bad if you have some where to go. Some people hate it when the person doing your nails are talking in a different language to other co-workers. I don't mind because then I can read and don't have to have a conversation in my chill out time. I got the better pedicure, the regular manicure, and an eyebrow wax for $52. That is a great price! With the regular manicure they rub your shoulders and put your slathered with cream hands in gloves and then in heating pad mittens. Eh. Dip nails look great. Even, color is great, no complaints. The pedicure is a different story. 6 days later and I already see 3 toes with chips on the end. I can usually last 3-4 weeks on a regular pedi. The lady doing my feet had her toddler running around the salon, rolling all over the floor, pulling supplies out everywhere, grabbing on her the whole time. The salon was dirty and has seen better days. My pedi is not great. There was no wait, but maybe I see why. Every other salon in Creve Coeur has a wait. The man that checked me out ran the wrong amount on my card, ran out the door to tell me, he said he would run for the difference, but 6 days later, no charge. Hmmm. They've nailed the perfect manicure and pedicure. I have been a customer of Ballas Nail Spa regularly for years. They always consistently do the best job. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I have been a customer of Lenas she is super friendly and always does an excellent job. Kim and Amy are also staples at Ballas Nails they also do an excellent job too. Ballas nails always keeps up with the new trends. When "gel" was the new thing they had gel and in every color imaginable and now that the "powder dip" is the new trendy manicure they have every color you could ever want and they are masters at their craft. They utilize top of the line products and I've always left satisfied. They also do your cuticles. Other nail salons I've gone to charge to cut your cuticles, not at Ballas, it's the whole package. On the rare occasions I've broken a nail and gone in for a repair they have fixed it with no question ever if it's been a week since I was in. They really are the most honest and hard working nail spa I've been to. They stand behind their work. I asked for the Lavender pedicure & luxury manicure, but were nothing more than basic ones I normally receive in my hometown.The clippers were not sharp enough to cut my nails, nails are uneven,the work was sloppy & incomplete, I have cuticles hanging. This is by far the worst nail salon I've ever been to. The price is outrageous for the service and quality you receive. The pedicure chair I was seated in was broken and the massage thing didn't work very well. I upgraded the pedicure and didn't even get that. She didn't ask if I wanted my toe nails cut down she just did it and then didn't even scrap the bottom of my feet. I should've known just to stop there but went ahead and got a mani and let me tell you a child could do better than the paint job that I received. She didn't clean up the edges. She then disappeared for 20 mins while I sat there with cotton pieces left on my fingers, the edges of my nails rough and lotion left under my finger nails. When I asked her to fix them because I had nail polish all over my fingers she had an attitude while she attempted to clean the up. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

I stop in this salon once in awhile for convenience because its near my place of work. The quality of the work here is hit or miss. My most recent visit was a miss. The service took twice as long as it should have. I was having a french gel manicure that should have taken 45 minutes max. I didnt have an existing gel manicure to remove which can be time consuming so I should have been able to be in and out during my lunch hour. Not only was this poor girl slow, she was rough, leaving a cut on one of my fingers, botched cuticles and the manicure itself didn't look so great. On balance the people here are very nice and do make an effort to get me in and out quickly, but they tend to be slow and not as skilled as some nail technicians I have encountered at other places. I would come back here but only if I wasnt on a tight schedule and had an hour and a half to two hours to spend. read more

GO SOMEWHERE DIFFERENT! I wanted cute heart nails and when I asked for them they said it would be $80 and charged me $20 for a "special nail shape" which was a stiletto. She also said I couldn't have the green nail polish color so I just picked blue. She said if we didn't wanna pay anything extra they have to be short and square which was super weird and controlling but I said ok, because they couldn't be that bad. When I first sat down the woman who was supposed to do my nails barely even started all she did was remove the chips of acrylics I had on before this. She got up and attended to someone one else came back and walked away again I sat there for roughly 20 minutes waiting for her to come back when a man came in and told me to move chairs, I asked him if I could have oval instead of square and he said yes, while doing my nails he was extremely rough and the nails are extremely sore because he was careless, my pinky nails weren't even one nail was long and the other was barely bigger than my real nail (which I cut very short) after this I thought he was just even it out and didn't pay any mind, I asked him if I could see my blue color on a piece of paper because I didn't originally want the color and wanted to make sure it was the right color and not a dark color, instead he just put it on my nail and asked me if I liked the color after it was already on. The nails were blocking and too thick, and uneven. Extremely ugly when I asked for a refund they said no and said I can come back in and get it fixed, but they already did a terrible job. I have to go somewhere different to get them fixed please save your money. read more

However the most recent time I went, After less than a week 2 nails broke and the gel starting chipping. They replaced the 2 nails, no problem, but then two days after that another one broke off. Older woman did my nails. Was very rough with grinder tool. Kept cutting my skin near the cuticles. Was very rough with buffing, hurt my fingers and had to tell her to stop. Put the wrong setting solution on my powder dipped nails twice. When I told them the last coat washed off with the hand soap, another lady took my hand and forcefully dragged me towards middle of the salon. Then added the top coat and let sit in LED light. Still made me pay for the job. My daughter knows Vietnam language and heard them say I was a difficult customer! Went home and nails are still sticky. read more
