I've stayed quiet before, but not this time. I went to K Nails for a basic gel pedicure and a fill-in and somehow ended up paying $106. Before anyone says, "Well, that's normal," let me be very clear: I asked questions. When the nail tech asked if I wanted my nails cut, I specifically asked if there would be an extra charge. She told me no. So imagine my surprise when I get the bill and it's somehow over a hundred dollars. When I asked where all these charges came from, that's when the confusion started. One tech started talking to the other, and suddenly I'm being told I was charged for "going around my nails," cutting my nails, and other things that were never explained beforehand. I still don't know what "going around my nails" is supposed to mean, and quite frankly, neither explanation made any sense. It felt like they were scrambling to justify a bill that should never have been that high in the first place. What makes this sting even more is that I've been coming here for years. This isn't some random salon I tried once. My son and I used to come here together whenever he was home from college. They knew us. After my son was murdered, they acted like they cared. They offered sympathy. They know this isn't something I "went through" and got over--it's something I have to live with every single day for the rest of my life. They know how profoundly that loss changed my life, and they know I'm on disability because of it. That's why this experience hit differently. You expect this kind of treatment from a place that doesn't know you. You don't expect it from people who have looked you in the face for years, know your story, and then have no problem handing you a bill full of questionable charges that were never discussed until after the money was already gone. And let's be honest about the service itself: it wasn't worth $106. Not even close. Everything felt rushed. There was nothing exceptional about the experience, nothing luxurious, nothing that justified that price tag. The biggest issue isn't even the amount. It's the principle. If you're going to charge people for something, tell them BEFORE you do it. Don't wait until checkout and then start throwing out explanations that sound like they were created on the spot. I walked out feeling completely taken advantage of and wondering how many other customers have left there questioning their bill. At this point, I don't trust them, and once trust is gone, there's nothing left. K Nails can consider that $106 a farewell gift because they'll never get another penny from me. If you go here, ask the price of every single thing they touch, trim, file, clip, shape, or "go around" before they do it. This entire experience was terrible. I showed them a clear picture of what I wanted. They were rushing me and I came around 3:30pm. She used a thick old brush to try and shape the french tip and failed at each attempt. She expected me to be ok with the messiness. I told her it was uneven and politely asked if she could make it neat. While all of this is going on, there was a biracial girl doing my pedicure and I noticed that she cut my big toe nails all the way down to the skin. read more

I've visited K-Nails quite a few times and every visit has been consistent. I stumbled across this nail salon while on the search for a salon home - and I'm here to stay. The wait is never long and you're in and out. Not that they're rushing, they're just precise and thorough. My nail tech, Lynn, remembered me from day one and I appreciated that. Each visit, she learns more about me and my style - like what colors I like, a style I'm willing to try - all that good stuff. I don't get anything major, just a little something to pop. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she made it happen. Another things that's dope is they accept all forms of payment: card, Zelle, PayPal, CashApp, and a discount if you use cash. Not the fanciest of places but still just as nice. Unless you're specifically looking for this place - you may just overlook it. I didn't have an appointment but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to wait long to be serviced. The technician that I had was Lien. She was really nice and did a great job with my acrylic overlay. She knew exactly what I wanted as far as nail shape and color and my nails turned out beautifully. read more

The staff was excellent and very friendly, however my nails don't live up to the service I received. There are tons of air bubbles in my nails. I asked for acrylic French tip and the white in my tip is smudged and there was tons of glue residue all over my fingers. They were uneven, and you can see through my nails, since it wasn't painted down far enough. Overall I'd say I loved the staff just not the service they provided me. read more

Jen is Amazing! I was referred to her by a friend that has been seeing her for years. My nails are really small and nailbeds are short so it is really hard to find a nail tech that can make my nails look halfway decent. My nails are now way better than just halfway decent. She is very precise and listens to me when I tell her what I want. I get sooooo many compliments on my nails now. The place is overall nice and clean, but nothing special when it comes to decor. I gave this place a second chance, they messed up my eyebrows a couple years ago. I couldn't get in anywhere else and Linn took me toady, she is awesome! I had my feet, nails and eyebrows done. I love coming here. I get gel painted every other week, and only cause it's grown out, cause the gel typically isn't even pealing or chipping yet! I have been coming to K nails for several years now for gel manicures and pedicures and am very pleased with the services. I usually ask for Jane who always does the most creative designs. The gel polish lasts for several weeks which is helpful since I am always washing my hands. Their prices are reasonable and the facility is very clean. I'm going to go ahead and give them another star because they're friendly, fast and so reasonably priced. I've tried a couple of the other nail places in the area and I keep coming back here. Even on Memorial Day there was a steady stream of traffic in and out of the place. Plenty of staff on hand to deal with it. I don't know how but each time I'm here they have exactly the right number of workers. Nobody's standing around bored waiting for a customer and no customer is waiting more than 5 minutes for a service. Be warned that there's a $1 fee for using your credit card, I think it goes up to $2 at some price point (above $50 maybe?) I would post pictures of my ready-for-summer toes but I walked in the door to my house and my dog stepped on my big toe, smearing it. Good thing they're so cheap, I may have to go back next weekend! read more

Not sure how this place has such a high rating. Walked in and was immediately turned off by how old and low quality the place looked. The pedicure bath and equipment looked dirty. I have been to K Nails 3 times for service and 2 times to get my nails "fixed". The first 2 times a male tech did my nails...the first time was okay...the 2nd time I had to go back because my gel coating did not "cure" properly. Anyone knows that once you leave the nail shop with what looks like a great set, to look down a few hours later to F'd up nails is pretty aggravating. This last time, I thought, you know what, I'll give them another chance...accidents happen. Well, I went last Friday to get a fill. I guess the owner Kim felt like it wasn't time yet. She filed off my gel layer and oddly shaped my nails, adding an unusually small amount of acrylic to rebuild my nail. She also told me what color looked good on me...not really a fan of pushy nail techs. Kim added a thin, half a$$ed layer of gel as she rushed to get to her 3 other clients coming through the door. I knew that it all seemed unusual, but I trusted that since she is the shop owner, she must know what she is doing. She sent me on my way and not 15 minutes later, as I pulled into my driveway...looked down and saw bumpy, badly cured, lifting off of the nail gel. I was too frustrated to return that night, so I high tailed it back on Saturday. Kim joked with me about missing me, and that is why she messed up my nails, to get me back in to see me. Ha ha, but really, it wasn't funny. Kim filed off the gel coating and polish on 3 of my nails and had one of her techs reapply the gel. Again, they apologized and sent me on my way with a smile. Got home, same deal, nails that looked like I'd had them for weeks. Today is Tuesday, not even a week has passed and 4 of the nails are broken. My plan was to go back and only allow Jan to do my nails...I've seen her excellent work and have heard nothing but good things....but now I think that I will pass on the entire K Nails experience. It takes more than smiles and jokes to provide stellar service. Let's get serious folks!!! read more

The owner is so nice. I have gotten my nails done by her before and she does a good job. This past time I went there a guy did my full set. He made one nail crooked and I mentioned it to him. He acted like he couldn't see it. I kept mentioning it until he finally filed one side down to help even it out, although had the just fixed it when I first said something it would have been an easier fix. Also halfway through him doing my full set he moved me to the pedicure chair so he could start another client. Overall he didn't do a great job, the gel polish i paid for chipped literally within 24 hours also there are streaks where it wasn't full coverage.. Not really happy with how my nails came out. By the time he was almost finished I had already been there longer than planned and really didn't have time to complain again, as I was with my very pregnant friend and she was ready to go. I wish I could leave negative stars. I travel from Spanish Lake to get my nails done at this place. I must pass 50 shops on the drive. I visited this place based on the recommendation of my daughter. The first time I visited Kim did my manicure and did an excellent job. The very next week Tron did my pedicure and did a good job and an different woman did a color change and an overlay on a split nail did an okay job. The very next week, I go for a polish change and Kim says she doesn't have time so I went to an older woman who was doing a HORRIBLE JOB and a guy took over and did okay. Today, I go in for a manicure and a color change. They pair me with this young girl who looked liked she didn't have a CLUE what she was doing. As she began to file my finger NOT MY NAIL I stopped her. I got up and walked out. No one said a word to me. No one inquired about what caused me to leave. The lack of customer service is unacceptable and the lack of skill combined with the poor customer service is deplorable!! I DO NOT recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! read more

I have never been more grossed out during a pedicure. The nail tech was servicing another client with gloves on, finished with her then came straight to me without changing gloves or washing hands. Then I started to watch closer. None of the techs clean their implements in between clients. Rinsing in water is not sanitation. The bowls you soak your fingers in are rinsed out, never dried and put in a drawer in the vanity of the sink. I was in shock the whole time I was there. The wait was long. Took another client before me but she should have been after me. They really just had me waiting in water for 45 min. That person was in and out with her gel mani before I was ever started. The pedicure was not that great. I had it yesterday and already feel like I need another. Barely scrubbed the bottom of my foot. I didn't want gel but nail tech kept pushing for gel. In my opinion if the service is a good service you don't need gel on your toes. They also charge you "their" credit card fee when paying with a credit card. I really do hate that I had to write this. I sat here today for over 45 minutes waiting for a fill before leaving. They are not properly staffed. Four guests walked right in for pedicures so they clearly do not have enough nail techs. The facility could also use updates. My goal was to find a nail salon that I could visit when I did not have time to visit my normal salon in north county. I will not be back. read more

While getting the manicure there was a sizable drip on one of my nails, they told me I would have to pay for them to fix it...WHAT? The only nail salon worthy of coming back in the area, I've been to others and it has been horrible, from the quality to the service. The staff here is super nice, and my technician is the best. My one complaint is that if you make an appointment with a specific someone, it should be that person that do your nails from start to finish. It's rude to do otherwise just because another customer came, and then the other person finish your in a hurry and doesn't do a good job. Since a made my comment it hasn't happened again. read more
