Newer pop up inside experience in Los Angeles combining elements of balloons created into art installations. From a room that feels it is spinning while you're walking through it to a huge ball pit you lay in and watch the light show around you up, the different installations are each different from the other and expresses the artists ideas with each room. While it could feel it is made for children, there are deeper art elements that adults can enjoy as well. It may be a little expensive for a pop up museum compared to other pop ups, but it is also an experience you aren't getting elsewhere. You can go with family, make it a fun date experience or just go to experience the creativity and art that abounds. Definitely a new, fun experience in LA

My friends, my husband and I came to spend time at the Balloon Museum! We didn't know what to expect since we had never been there before. To our surprise and delight! We had an amazing time! We enjoyed all the different ways balloons were used to make beautiful artwork! We also got to experience a huge ball pit to get in and play! One of our friends was so amazed he started acting like a kid, it was such a joy to see him playing inside the ball pit!! It was such an incredible experience!! I definitely recommend coming back again! Plus it's great for pictures and selfies to add to your social medias!!

Soooooo much funnnn!!! The Balloon Museum's exhibit, Let's Fly, is guaranteed to bring out your inner child! International renowned artists incorporate inflatable art to create over 20 interactive installations to uplift your senses. My first favorite room was the Hyperstellar. Artist Roman Hill gives his perception of the infinite cosmos with the largest black ball pit I've seen and a hypnotic light and music show of moving spheres in the air. Take a dive in and try to swim! My second fave installation was Perpetual Ballet by Mauro Pace. If this whirlwind of white balloons doesn't bring you joy, you're probably dead inside. A Quiet Storm; the room with soapy bubbles, ADA; the giant ball with charcoal to draw on the walls, BB; the room with metallic balls, and Mariposa; the illuminated butterfly controlled by the chair swing were stimulating, mesmerizing and fun as well. It took about two hours for our party to go through the whole exhibit, but we took our time playing and taking photos in nearly every room. There are also some great photo op backdrops before you exit the building. Parking is $10. You have until March 16th to checkout "Let's Fly!"

I went here on a date. We didn't know what to expect at the exhibit but there were so many great surprises throughout the museum. I appreciated how much of an immersive experience it was. It wasn't rushed and we had ample time to get through each exhibit at our own pace. We went at a time where it was a mix of families and couples and it was still quite enjoyable. My favorite was the hyperstellar exhibit. I'm glad we spontaneously decided to go today. It can definitely be an outing for the family. From beginning to end it was great - even the colored photo boxes & VR at the end was great.

Tickets: check to make sure they are available. They are fairly priced for this type of event. Parking: is free/included at the venue. Exhibits: So so fun! Some had no lines, while others had a little bit of a line. Be prepared to get a little wet from the bubbles. We had a great time and the kiddos loved it. If you around the downtown LA area this is definitely a fun activity.

I had fun! Wish there were more interactive rooms though. I enjoyed the ball pit the most and the ballet room with all the floating balloons and air. My friend and I missed the ball but the first time since the didn't walk to the end of the green swirly room. Glad we went back to ask about it. The price was a bit better with the discount, otherwise it's too pricey. I think this is a great place for kids or to bring out the kid in you. There are fun setup rooms at the end for some photo ops! There's quite a lot of parking spaces available. There's a guy that takes parking payments when you drive up to the entrance.

I am late to writing this review but maybe someone from a different city wants to refer to previous locations. This was a great experience that my daughter enjoyed as well. Took us about 1.5 to get through it all. Solid pop up museum for all of the sensory lovers out there!

This museum is located within spitting distance of the famed and celebrated 6th street bridge. The neighborhood is industrial with a post apocalyptic feel. This is not Beverly Hills, lol An interesting and unusual experience. Lots of surprises and joy as you walk through each space. Only wished we could go back through the loop again. It was not obvious if we could and we did not ask.

Visited for our first time in a group of four this past weekend and we had an amazing experience. Elsewhere at the Madcap Hotel, which was just down the street a few years ago, is my favorite of all the art exhibits that i've been to in Los Angeles, but this Balloon Museum is definitely my second favorite. It was a lot larger than I was expecting, and the rooms were a lot more fun and immersive than I thought they would be. Parking is included with your ticket although it's easy to find street parking given that it's in the eastern side of the Arts District. They also have a lovely café at the end of the museum with delicious donuts, coffee, and cotton candy. I would say the ball pit or the room with the floating balloons were my favorite of the rooms but honestly, I enjoyed each one. This would be something that would be great as a date, or to bring kids or even pets. The rooms are pet friendly aside from the ball pit and a few other ones. It honestly was a great way to spend an afternoon and I already want to go back again. I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

#flyforfun #flyforballoons #flyforadventure This Balloon Museum is part of a worldwide traveling museum I thought it settled here in Los Angeles after visiting Düsseldorf Germany but was corrected to learn this current exhibit is from Italy Lights! Camera! Action! Much to see and understand about light, motion, air and the list goes on Contracted by the Balloon Museum, each artist describes their piece along with the science behind it A must see if you are in the LAX area

Balloon Museum in LA is a fun and interactive art museum with specific exhibits primarily balloons as their main theme. It's located in the art district section of DTLA. Visitors can easily spend 90 minutes exploring each exhibit and taking those cute IG photos. Museum staff were friendly and helpful. Admission ticket is timed and pricey $40 bucks. Parking lot ($10) and side street parking (free) are available albeit limited. Overall, this interactive museum was fun and good for family.

A fun time was had by all. Customer Service: Awesome Interactiveness: Bam Uniqueness: Yep From the bubble room, to butterfly swing to the black ball pit, it's a site all should see and touch! Hope they come to the Bay Area!

This exhibit definitely exceeded my expectations. The scale of it and quality of the artwork and artists was beautiful. I loved the interactive nature of it. I've been to a lot of exhibits with ball pits but this one takes the prize in terms of sheer scale and drama, along with the light show. Just beautiful. I thought wearing booties in the pit kept it a little more hygienic, which I appreciatesd. The exhibit with the big balloon and charcoal that drew on the walls and ceiling was incredible. We also enjoyed the balloon tornado with our hair standing straight up. Lots of laughs. There was quite a bit of staff everywhere making sure everything ran smoothly. My only issue were all the slippery areas. Wearing booties over shoes and walking on a slippery rubbery ramp was not a great idea. I fell down while exiting an exhibit. It is really nice that there is a cafe and seating areas to take a break if needed. I highly recommend this and for all ages.

They were fairly flexible with arrival times, but do have your tickets ready for the attendant upon entry. Be prepared for a security checkpoint where they thoroughly search all bags and backpacks; if you are carrying a backpack, note that they may require you to wear it on your front to protect the artwork. Getting to the museum requires taking a tram, and since there is an attendant managing the passenger count, you should expect a potential wait. While you can technically walk or take the bus, the hill is quite steep and not recommended unless you are in very good shape. Parking is $25, payable by credit card at the kiosks near the elevators. As for the experience, the gardens are absolutely beautiful and offer perfect photo opportunities. The art collection is subjective; while there are some spectacular pieces, the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming for me personally compared to other art museums I've visited. That said, for a free museum, it is hard to beat. My biggest piece of advice is to research the collection and plan which exhibits you want to see before you arrive. I ended up stumbling upon some famous works by chance, but a little pre-planning would have made for a much better visit. I would definitely go again now that I know what to expect. Security can be strict, especially with backpacks. They will ask you to wear them in the front to protect the artwork. Some security staff are overly cautious, but with millions of dollars in art, they have to be vigilant.

Boasting over 110,000 square feet of exhibition space, the modern and curvy building spans over 900 feet in length, standing 30 feet above ground and bridging over Wilshire Boulevard. It's open and spacious - I love their placements of many art pieces on tables with no casing! You can get very close the the objects ... ALMOST touching them. But don't worry, there are plenty of security officers around to ensure all visitors stay away from the art pieces. The collection in this gallery is huge - like an encyclopedia museum, encompassing arts from various period and all over the world -- more from Latin America than other regions, it seems. If you are the kind of museum goers who must see famous pieces, you may be a bit disappointed here - though there are a few impressionist pieces by well-known artists. If you go without too much expectation and let whatever meets the eyes delight, entertain, amuse, or educate you, then you just might have a pleasant visit. Do plan a day - the Geffen gallery alone can take 3-4 hours! Other buildings may take another few hours. Except for LA county residents -- you can get in for free after 3PM so come enjoy this great place for 2-3 hours before closing, as often as you like!! My one wish is if they could be a bit more considerate to seniors -- the Geffen gallery is huge; when it was 3 minutes before closing, a group of us (very tired at this time) were near the south exit stairs, but were told we have to use the north exit and shoo'd away from the stairs that were right in front of us. I'm sure there are operational reasons. But a more accommodating visitor handling procedure would have left us a much better experience and a nicer last impression!

Then I read another reviewer say they found street parking on Hewitt, but when I saw a parking enforcement car there it made me worried, so I ultimately settled on a $5 per hour lot where you could pay by text, which turned out the best since I could extend my stay through my phone when I decided to stay longer. They do trick you though because they'll open up other windows, so you have to make sure you're on the right window where you can extend, not pay for a new session altogether. The old flour mill is beautifully renovated. The exterior alone makes it look brand new. Walking in there's a long hall that leads to the amazing courtyard, but along the way you'll see exhibit rooms and a bookstore. In total I saw 2 big exhibit rooms, 1 small exhibit room, a screening room, a bookstore, and another garden off to the side in addition to the courtyard in the middle. The vibe was casual with people bringing their children and dogs, there was a live band playing salsa music, and a taco truck across the street where I bought my lunch then ate it at the courtyard which has tables and benches. As for the art itself, watching the screenings really does help because then you know what you're looking at. Like one of the pieces was a sculpture of monstrous faces on a marble pedestal. The artist explained that he saw eyes wherever there was a dot in the marble which inspired the faces on the sculpture. Since I didn't want to leave in the middle of the films or the live conversations with the artists themselves, I ended up missing out on the free ice cream, which sucked, but now I'm planning to visit Watts Towers in the future because of the film and panel afterward. It really is a nice space to visit even though I'm not a fan of modern art. At the very least this festival helped me understand some of it a little bit more.
