We knew we were going to a dive bar. We didn't know it was going to be quite so divey (probably not…read morea real word, but you get it). There are some tables outside. I think they're plastic, but could be wrong. They were all taken when we got there so we had to eat inside. The inside is pretty small. There were two open tables but they were filthy. We ended up sitting at a counter along the windows. The menu is on a board. We chose what we wanted and we just guessed at what to do next. There didn't appear to be any table service so my husband walked up to the bar and placed our order. We believe there was only one person working there that night. She was working the bar, cooking, and delivering drinks and food to tables. And she was pleasant! The place is small, dirty, and it was super loud. People were vaping like crazy and I don't believe most places allow that. I'm not a fan of being around it. Not a great atmosphere! There was no way I was going to use the women's restroom after my husband reported back on the men's room. He said the door was hard to close because it was somewhat hanging off the hinges. He could barely turn around in there because it's so small. He said it was disgustingly dirty. The pluses were they there was water, soap, and paper towels, and there were no live bugs. The food was very average. Supposedly the Larry Burger is great. It was not. It was very average. It was thicker than most burgers, but that's about it. We each had one of those and we shared an order of fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were the highlight of our time there. They would have been better with horseradish sauce instead of ranch dressing. I can't imagine the scenario that would see us going there again.

I arrived in time to watch her grab the burger buns with her bare hands and put them on the grill. I then watched her grab the frozen fries out of the bag with her bare hands and drop them in the basket to cook. I can only imagine how the raw meat was handled but the patties were already cooking when I arrived. Needless to say, the more I thought about it, the more my appetite disappeared. Dive bars are good, but unsanitary handling of food is not. Never again.

For where it is and what it offers, it's great!…read more Really enjoyed the setting, but this was very much about the friends I was with. The food was fine. The pizza was fine, but definitely not cooked either long enough or in a hot enough oven. The beers are quite nice. Their seasonals are always interesting and I've had some really amazing ones here. Their year rounds brews are solid, including a rice-based lager. This is also known as "Villa Antonio Winery", I am definitely not basing this rating on the wine. It's your typical awful Missouri vintages. The labels on the bottles give you an indication of how bad it's going to be. The staff is small and often overwhelmed, but they all try their damndest to serve. Go for the beer!

Worth the trip! I…read morewas first introduced to Sand Valley Brewing at the Best of MO Market last fall in STL. After sampling some of their beers, I added their taproom to my list of my places I must go. We finally made it out that way last weekend - and OMG! I am so glad we did. Their beers are delightful. They have something for everyone's taste. They offer flights to try a variety of their brews - which I love! I dabbled in a flight of the Apricot Fruited Sour, Dunkel with Meadowfoam Honey, Hazy IPA w/ Chardonel Grape Juice, and a Porter with Belizean Cacao Husk + Tanzanian Vanilla Beans. I really appreciate the incorporation of such natural flavors and ingredients in the brewing! The flavors were delightful. My husband opted for the Rice Lager as he is more of your classic Pilsner guy. He enjoyed his beer too! The food was also delicious! We couldn't help but finish off the entire pizza & wings between the two of us. The wings were juicy yet crispy on the outside and the sauce - so flavorful! The pizza was cooked to perfection and so yummy. The bartender who took our orders was also outstanding! He was so personable and really helped make our visit complete. He provided us with great information about the place and each brew. He also was a great resource of the area - he gave us directions to a pretty little close drive as we wanted to go somewhere outdoors to kill some time while we waited for friends. Also to mention, the brewery shares space with Villa Antonio Winery. We, of course, had to share a little wine flight as well for the whole experience! The wine was remarkable and made onsite with local Missouri grapes. Highly recommend a visit!

Of the many places to grab some lunch at we came here mostly because everyone in our group just wanted BBQ and some beer so JB's is what it came down to! Of the many choices here it was all about the pulled pork nachos for me as that just sounded what was good and it soo much so as it was piled with pulled pork on those circle nacho chips with that yummy fake cheese, salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream let me say that it was oh soo good as it was just exactly what it should be! My friend Anthony (Coaster Guy 101) ordered a pulled pork sandwich it came out on a pretzel bun with sidewinder fries it looked really good and he said it was really good so with both of us enjoying our lunch it was a great choice for us as well as the rest of our group! They also have Coke Freestyle machines here 3 of them to be precise so it was a nice change from the soda that can be found everywhere else in the park! JB's also accepts Dinning Pass for many of the items on their menu so definitely keep that in mind when searching for what's good in the park because you will definitely find some of that here! Overall it's BBQ inside the park and it's definitely worth a Dinning Pass credit because it's totally tasty in that Q kinda way so make your way here and you will enjoy what was good just like we did!
