Discovered this dive bar during the World Cup games. The inconsistencies in decor/vibe throughout the place makes sense later knowing the bar was on Bar Rescue around 2024/2025. We had a good time playing pool and there was a male bartender making our first drinks that was very friendly and conversational. The female bartender made our second round of drinks and was more standoffish as if we didn't fit the "dive bar scene" since we were dressed up a bit. We enjoyed a couple rounds of pool and watching the World Cup game then we left before karaoke was about to start. Bar itself has plenty of seating and nice lighting for the bottles. After learning the story about the owner and the bar, I'm very happy this place is still open but I don't think we'll be back. read more

We visited The Fireplace Bar for Friday night karaoke. This is a dive bar, in a good way. There are pool tables and darts. It was very loud when we visited, not because of the karaoke, so it was a bit difficult to speak with the bartenders. I guess people were having a good time! There are lots of drink choices at reasonable prices. There is also food, which I didn't try. For the karaoke, you go up to the KJ get into the queue, and then add your songs across the evening for each of your turns. There was quite a variety being sung. You sing in front of the fireplace. There is a little bit of room to dance around the edges but not much. Despite being a "nonsmoking" bar, there were patrons vaping indoors and there was a cigarette smell inside (perhaps wafting in from the smokers outside?). The ladies bathroom was very clean. There is free parking outside in their attached lot, but you might have to get creative if you get there later in the night, as the lot gets crowded. This bar has a fun vibe for your friend group to go blow off some steam, but probably not a good place to take a first date. read more

Saw this place on Bar Rescue and was in the area so gave it a try and was impressed on how welcoming the patrons and staff were. They have 2 pool tables, dart boards, karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights,patio area and serve food and a good poured drink.Definitely will be back here again. read more

I love the Fireplace. It's basically a neighborhood type dive bar. Very friendly people, good drinks and small food offering. They have a pool table, game machines and the best karaoke on Fri and Sat nights. They have recently had a bit of a facelift and the place looks great. They have also elevated their drinks with holiday special menus. I love the fall caramel apple martini! DELICIOUS! They also make a great white russian for a reasonable price. I've had the smore's dessert which is a cool experience and the pizza which is consistent and good. Service is quick and friendly and sometimes they even have a employee offering food samples. I really enjoy that the karaoke crowd is kind and there to have a good time. They are friendly and will sing with you and cheer you on. The guy who runs karaoke is polite and does his best with your songs and rotating the list of singers. They also have the cleanest restrooms I have ever experienced in a bar! This is not the kind of bar you go to and avoid using the restrooms, its one where you feel comfortable and they always have soap and towels for handwashing! The only downside is that their parking lot is tiny and once its full, you are basically out of luck. There isn't any overflow parking, so I do recommend carpooling if you can. read more

The food is delicious especially the fresco pizza! Service is without a doubt top notch! No matter who is behind the bar day or night you'll be met with a smiling face and the best service around! It can get crowded on Fridays and Saturdays but that's to be expected when everyone loves it here. It has pool tables and darts. It also has karaoke on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. This is a classic neighborhood bar tucked in a Valley Park neighborhood. If a friend had not suggested that we meet here, I don't think I would have ever stumbled across it. The bar has plenty of room to spread out featuring a decent sized bar with many hightop tables and low top table options in the back. Outside, when the weather is nice, there are lots of seating options as well. Several friends and I came here on a Thursday afternoon and enjoyed time together. The bar featured your typical drink options, but they also had some decent top shelf options and a few microbrewery selections. The food menu features mostly pizza with a couple options on top of that such as hotdogs and brats. We had the meat lovers pizza and the combination pizza. They were frozen pizzas cooked in the back, but they were very tasty and satisfying. Service was very attentive. Great staff, friendly customers. Went at 5:00 on a Tuesday, got some drinks and hung out on the hokey patio-chatted with some fun regulars. Got a pretty good taco pizza and fantastic pretzel bites. Reminds me of a place near my property 80 miles west of STL. Very cool little dive bar with better than decent food. I'll be back for sure. Our bartender was very sweet and eager to help us. She didn't know how to make our drinks (which were on the menu) and didn't know what one of their sandwiches were. Went here for the first time with some friends on a Saturday night from around 8-11ish. Decent crowd the later it became, two pool tables and a couple dartboards, and karaoke in the back room. Helpful staff. They have cocktails and some bar food there which are decent, but way overpriced. The espresso martini was really good but about $13. Would definitely come back here!! read more

This place has over priced drinks and unskilled bartenders. We went on a weekday in the middle of the day and it was empty. The bartender did not know how to make any drink. Someone next to us ordered a tea shot. They asked her how to make that my husband then ordered a Manhattan. They did not know how to make that. I asked for one of the shots that was advertised on their LED board and the bartender asked me how to make that. We sat at the bar with them and googled recipes that could be close to the shot that they had advertised and we ended up just settling on a Vegas bomb because it was the only thing they knew how to make. It was a bit ridiculous for our bill to come out to almost $80 before tip for 4 drinks and 2 shots and we had to basically help make our orders. If you go off of Big Bend you get to go under the scariest stone bridge. Like outta a horror show. Through a narrow clearing of trees and into a tiny bar. You will think you are gonna get murdered. Fight the urge to run. Inside are cheap beers. Like a small town local pub feel. Monday night has league poker games at 7 pm. The widest shuffle board in Missouri and two pool tables. I go to karaoke quite often there, the DJ Jim constantly making sure that the sound is great and he does a very very good job at it. There's even an app that you can scan and it communicates with the DJ instead of having to go up and tell him would song you want to do. It's really kind of cool because I know no other DJ that has that going on and the cool thing about Jim is that he keeps your name in the queue so be ready do another song in case you're not keeping track who was before you. Saturday nights are blast and they start karaoke at 9 p.m. be there or be square. as you're arriving it looks like you're driving down a country road going under a single Lane train trestle just follow your GPS and it'll bring you there. And please bring a crowd it's always nice to see new faces! They also do karaoke Wednesday night and Friday night, but every once in a while they have a dartboard tournament so just call they'll answer :) read more

Me and my wife starting coming in here off on on the past year. We got burned out on this place really quickly!! The place is falling apart. Inside, it reaks of mold, mildew and the smell of very old cigarette smoke still lingering from the 1960's. It literally stains our clothes every time we went in there. We absolutely love Jim, the karaoke d.j., but it's not enough for us two to come back.........also, the last time we were up there, me and my wife figured out later on. After going over our receipt, the place charged us an extra 3 drinks and added on a "karaoke charge" on the receipt. Has anyone heard of such thievery?!?!?
