Had a wonderful dinner at O'Dell's Irish Pub & Ale House! The atmosphere was fun and welcoming with good music, TVs with sports on, and a spacious layout that didn't feel crowded. The food was delicious, generous portions, and there was a huge beer selection plus a full bar. The highlight of the evening was our server, Lulu. She was so attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind -- checking on us often, keeping us updated on our food, and taking time to chat with us. She truly made our dinner a 5-star experience. A late dinner at an amazing place, reminiscent of Mannions in Yonkers NY. Stopped in with best friend, Seamus. We were both pleasantly surprised at the decor, menu, etc. Reminded us of County Donegal. I started w Stella, Seamus w water. We then split a basket of fried mushrooms w "shamrock sauce". Excellent w a hint of horseradish. On to one of the specials - Irish meatloaf w green beans and smashed spuds. Both of us. We offered kudos to one of the chefs. The meatloaf consisted of ground beast, corned beast, chunks of carrots and other veggies. The spuds were infused w rosemary (not sure of her last name). The beans were paired w fried onions and bacon. A rich gravy accompanied the meal. Our server, Grace, was graceful, friendly, attentive, and efficient. O'Dells was good! I met my brother and SIL here on a Sunday night (coincidentally the night before St. Patrick's Day) and it was pretty packed! Due to the holiday, there was a bit of a wait, but the servers were quite attentive in making sure we knew we would be seated as soon as possible. We were sat at a high top near the bar. This spot definitely has a pub, quaint feel to it which I definitely appreciate. The servers were prompt and helpful in getting our orders in. I ordered a Caesar salad and Dublin dip. The salad was good and fresh, and I liked the dressing. The Dublin dip was good as well, it came out a bit colder than I prefer but the flavors with the provel were good. Fries were tasty and crispy. We got takeout on a Friday night. We were told 30-35 minutes, but when arrived waited another 15. The food was good, but some things were soggy from sitting in the styrofoam boxes a while. We got: Burger, Wings, Grilled Cheese, and Turkey Club. We will be back again, but maybe not takeout on a weekend. read more

MY friend and I were in Eureka the other day for a pop up event at a local boutique and O'Dell's was across the street so we decided to stop by for a drink before going home. This seems to be a sweet little local Irish pub where a lot of locals visit. Everyone was so friendly and the place was packed (even on a weeknight). While the food menu all sounded delish, we were just there for a drink, so we looked at the happy hour menu and ordered 2 cranberry martini's. The bartender/server was really friendly and let us know she would be back soon with the drinks. The atmosphere was really cute and everything seemed quite traditional for an Irish pub. Today we started with their signature "Jack" Wings, tossed in special homemade sauce - tasty and good but my personal preference is a regular buffalo hot sauce. I tried the daily soup, and LOVED the homemade creamy Clam Chowder special - large bowl with chunky fixin's and excellent flavor! For entrees, ordered the Frisco Melt and a Reuben. Frisco burger was good on grilled sourdough, with plenty of cheese and 1/2 lb. burger; next time i'd try the Paddy Melt with Swiss and grilled onions for a little more flavor. Reuben was solid, altho the corn beef wasn't as tender as i've had, but still a good, filling sandwich. Your desserts are hand-picked with long acrylic finger nails that just pocketed the new waitresses cash tip from table 5. We needed a place to take a lunch break from getting rained out of Six Flags and opened Yelp to find this Pub high on the list and less than ten minutes away from the theme park. The location of this Pub is great- on a nice downtown strip with nearby shops. The inside was very Irish Pub aesthetic. There was a great choice of traditional Irish dishes on the menu. The service was good. One thing I really liked about the Pub were the trivial pursiut cards on the table to play with each other while you wait. The frisco melt was pretty poor- the thousand island dressing was very scarce and the burger was so charred that the burnt taste overpowered the whole sandwich. The water tastes like straight tap, lead water, undrinkable for me. The fries were great though! read more

Place is nice. Waitress was awesome. Fish and chips dinner for $19 was some of the worst fish I have ever eaten. Old, cold and chewy.

During regular lunch time the service is great. After 3- not so much. Bartender pays more attention to the regulars at the bar, which I totally understand, but there was a server who just wandered around like she was lost. Didn't take any orders that I saw even there were at least 4 tables and one was a large group. If your children go to La Salle middle school- this is the place for some very loud hot gossip. I'm sure they all told their significant others there was a meeting or some other school function causing them to stay out through happy hour. I was a teacher who did happy hours in the day- never close to the school though. I will remember in the future to go on a weekend or before close to happy hour. Food was good as usual. read more

Went here for the first time and we loved it! Good beer and their burgers are amazing, big, thick patties, full of meat, great cheese and delicious toppings. What a lovely little pub. Was driving by and saw it and we decided to stop by for a pint and a bowl of soup. They had several options of beer on draft to choose from. I ordered the Guinness French onion soup, and my friend ordered the clam chowder. Both of the soups were very delicious. Tons of flavor and seasoning in them. We also ordered an appetizer, spinach and artichoke dip. That was very good as well. The pita bread came out warm and fluffy. We will definitely be back to try some of their other options. It looked like they had a couple different areas to sit at. There was a section in the back that had four really cute booths if you want a little bit more quiet/privacy. We got there shortly after three, but I believe that they said they had happy hour specials that started at four. If you like feeling like you're at a business instead of a restaurant and you want the full support of a staff to see how fast you can get out the door, this is a great place for you. Look, I love the environment and the food is not all bad (some is really subpar), but other than that, the service is just lame at best. And there's no such place in Ireland as "Cork County" (as one of their menu items shows). Blech. It's "County Cork." You might find this nitpicky, but imagine an American restaurant in Ireland selling "City New York style pizza." Hmmm... And "MacGillycuddy" would be Scottish (as opposed to the Irish spelling "Mc")...I'm not Irish, but no wonder the Irish feel like they get no respect. I wanted to like this place because we are always looking for good local places to eat. However, we were disappointed. We went in for lunch on Tuesday. We were the first customers there for the day. My daughter ordered the adult grilled cheese and I ordered the frisco melt. The servers were very friendly but it took about 45 min to get our food. Then when our food finally came out the waitress said sorry it took so long the cook couldn't get the cheese to melt on my fighters grilled cheese. She put our plates down and left. My daughter's grilled cheese had about 4 slices of cheese on it and none of them were melted at all. She ate but only because she didn't want to be a customer who sends something back. My frisco melt was mediocre. It was very disappointing. I don't think we will go back. read more

Just an update since my original review: We have continued to love O'Dell's through the years, and they are our go-to favorite. Great burgers, tender corned beef, delicious Jack sauce (try the wings or get it as a side for your fries -- there is an up-charge for it on the side), huge fish sandwich - yum! I have too many favorites to name...Oh, but I'll do it anyway: O'Dell Burger, Dublin Dip, Fish Sandwich, Shepherd's Pie, Celtic Cobb Salad, colcannon, Irish soda bread...and the extensive beer list! During the COVID-19 orders, the O'Dell family has done a great job of adapting and doing the best for their family and their customers in the process. Good food. Didn't take long to be served. It was like sitting in a beautiful library loved the decorations.

Stopped in for lunch while traveling and tried the patty melt. I was hoping for a bit more than a burger patty on toasted butter bread, but it was pretty good, as were the fries. It wasn't what I'd call friendly, but it wasn't unfriendly. I'm sure the pub in the evenings during a game or event would be livelier. For lunch, pretty good! I got a burger with the steak fries. Food was really good and our service wasn't bad. The bartender seemed to be running all over the place but we almost always had refills. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly medium rare. The fries were salty and crispy and the burger was decently priced. I was up charged for cheese which I thought was odd so total was $10.92 after tax which is still a great price for the amount you get! Poor poor poor 1 star is too much. You walk in and it's all old bar stank, there's not any food cooking aromas this makes me wonder about the kitchen. So I ordered a salad. Literally the worst salad I've ever ordered. It was literally out of a bag and warm and old lettuce. I did not eat it, I didn't want to complain because we were with2 other couples and come to find out their food was awful as well. Nothing is made in house it's out of a bag and frozen. The fish n chips were also gross. Our waitress "VALLEY" was rude and new. She didn't know much and had an attitude. It's a shame the manager never returned my call. Bottom line horrible service and horrible food. Save yourself from horrible food. Nit to mention we had to wait 25 mins for water. Just horrible read more

I have had mixed experiences lately. Last time was better than the time before. Burger had so much potential as it was cooked well, but had absolutely no seasoning and fries were super cold. We stopped by on our way home from Purina Farms. I checked out the menu ahead of time and saw so many interesting choices I figured it was a safe bet. We were greeted and seated right away. The place was very busy, but service was still spot on. Really cozy Irish pub complete with fireplace. We were seated at a cute half round booth. Lynnea was our server and she was great! Got our drink order right away and let us know about the specials of the day. We started with a snack of chips and beer cheese. Perfect for a munchie but not too filling. I picked the corned beef and cabbage, hubby went with fish and chips, my girls picked the chicken wrap and smash burger. We were all happy with our choices. I was very happy with the corned beef and cabbage. Really tender and flavorful, great potatoes too! Fish and chips were a 7/10. Good, flaky fish, but not special. I mean it was bad l, not even close to enjoyable ate about half and just figured to call it done. The soda bread is not very good either. The service was ok...barely, the bartender was ok but the blond waitress needs to consider another line of work, she has the demeanor and personality of a perpetually pissed off woman. If you really want some Irish identification stay away . It's awful. Rarely do I review restaurants, especially small independent ones but Odell's requires some fixing. If the waitress would have been concerned I thought the food was awful would have been helpful but she offered nothing. She just wanted her tip. I get it , but to a point.
