A mile is a hike in bike shoes so my husband tried to get the tire off but it was extra tight and he was hungry and exhausted so biked on to get the truck. While I was waiting, two guys rode by on the grass on powered bikes one waved so I waved back. After passing they stopped talked to each other and turned around asked was I ok-yes just waiting on hubby to pick me up couldn't get the tire off to fix my flat. I can try if you like says, Nick. I said no thank you, I'm good. He then shared that he worked at Pedal Pushers and he fixes bikes all the time so if I had my tools he would give it a shot. Needless to say in seconds he had the tire off and tube out, only my husband had taken the new ones with him! Suffering Succotash! Nick and his friend were so considerate to stop. I needed to have the lock ground off to replace it. My bike is an electric trike and way too big and heavy to get into the trunk of my car. I called The Bike Doctor and spoke to Kevin. However there are some things that we should leave to those who have trained, worked hard to acheive the skills to do a thing; governance, surgery, complex plumbing, electric, tree felling, bicycle derailleurs! I have the luxury of being able to leave work in the middle of a day on Friday. I called, they were available, we drove over, they took the bike right in. Had some pleasant conversation, they fixed it in 15 minutes ($20), and educated us [they always do]. We have been here 3 times now, and 3 times an absolutely 100% positive experience. This is a quality business, with capable caring folks. Good products/service/expertise isn't "cheap" it shouldn't be. This place cares about the work they do, they care about cyclists and they are an excellent resource. This is our new "go to".
