This is my favorite place to go for recovery. I pay $50 a month and I get unlimited use of the compressions boots, compressions arms, infrared sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. I try to go everyday, it also gives me time to read while I am recovery. I wish there were more places like this. The only complaint is they are closed from 10-1 am and I wish they closed at 11. Overall, I love the place and would recommend it to anyone. They also give you a towel to use and have a shower which is a big plus. read more

This facility offers wonderful services that I utilized as a member for the past year. My membership was active at the time quarantine began and the facility shut down. When this facility reopened they not only did not honor my lost time , but they tripled their membership fees and cut down the time you can use their services daily 75% . I was in a grandfathered pricing bracket and they still did not allow me to have my grandfathered rates. While I can certainly understand the dire times all businesses are in this is bad business. I had no idea that recovery was even a thing. I feel like I've cheated myself all this time! I've been a volleyball player my whole life. I would stretch and use a foam roller but nothing more than that. I found myself having to go easy on some training days because my legs and arms just felt so tired. My friend suggested that I check our balunsd for recovery. I'm so mad at myself for not going sooner! I did a cold plunge first! In theory it sounds awful but my muscles were so tired and tangled that it honestly felt SO GOOD! I'm literally obsessed with this place. I think I come here too often now! Since Covid it is now on appointment based! Which is amazing. The staff is truly taking our safety and health Into consideration. I need recovery and I feel truly soooo safe here. I've been going to Balunsd for about a month now and I'm hooked. As an avid endurance runner for over 30 years, in regards to recovery, nothing compares to Balunsd. Access to the Normatec, infrared saunas, hot tubs, and the cold plunge tubs all in one place is amazing. My recovery time has decreased significantly. My metabolism has definitely increased and I'm sleeping more soundly for sure. I leave Balunsd with such a boost of energy that keeps me coming back for more. When my gym opened back up I went way too hard and I could barely walk! I scheduled an appointment at balunsd for some recovery and afterwards I couldn't believe how great I felt. First I'd like to say that I didn't know much about the importance of recovery until I stumbled this place. The staff is very knowledgeable, and super friendly. Being an avid cyclist/runner I really rely on going in to utilize the normatec boots, as well as the cold bath to help side quick response recovery. Balunsd is the perfect place for athletic recovery! They have multiple services to help with recovery like cold plunge, hot tub, infrared sauna, Normatec compression therapy, and even yoga and stretching classes! I workout between 4-5 times a week and my body gets really tired and sore from all the work so I come here to start feeling better. The location is brand new and very clean. They have big TVs to watch whenever you're sitting in a freezing cold tub and private showers to wash up afterwards. They also sell bottled juices and post workout snacks in case you get hungry there. The whole stuff is very nice and professional and really glad this place is opened in Scottsdale! read more

Genius - just genius. As a long time fitness fanatic, my idea of recovery has historically been stretching, foam rolling and yoga with the occasional massage thrown in. Now as an avid hiker who recently got into long distance treks (20+ miles) and as a crossfitter who frequently deals with soreness from heavy lifting, my recovery needs are much, much greater than they've ever been. Or maybe getting older just requires more recovery, whose to say. Nonetheless, I'm so thrilled to have a place dedicated to recovery just a stone's throw from my house. The monthly membership is good deal if you plan on soaking in tubs, using the sauna, or gearing up in the Normatec sleeves more than once a month. Personally I'm a fan of a little compression therapy followed by a cold plunge. I honestly thought it'd be awkward at first spending so much time there, but it's a fun and social scene! There is still some debate out there regarding research that supports measurable benefits from compression sleeves or cold plunging for athlete recovery, but I will absolutely take placebo effect over nothing. Comiserating with other sore athletes is also a bonus :) Aside from feeling physically wonderful every time I leave, everyone I've met so far that works there is super cool and extremely helpful. I really hope this concept sticks in the active community, because I'm counting on this as part of my fitness regimen now! read more

I just moved here from West Virginia and I've been taking full advantage of all the mountains that Arizona has and have really picked up hiking as one of my favorite hobbies. My daughter joined me for a hike and it was intense. A day after we were both pretty sore. She actually looked up recovery options and balunsd came up. We both called and made appointments. I was a little nervous because I've never done recovery like this before. When we came in the staff was so friendly, it made me way less intimidating. My daughter went straight for the cold plunge and I did the normatec therapy! We have gone a handful of times now and used their infrared sauna, hot tub, and I finally did a cold plunge. I seriously love this place. I get excited when I do a hard hike just so I can come into balunsd for recovery! I highly recommend this for anyone and everyone! read more

This place is awesome to come to after a long workout session. Start out in the sauna and end in the cold plunge. It's a very cool business concept and some of the friendliest staff and customer service I've come across in Scottsdale. I wish more businesses couldn't replicate the staff and their positive attitudes. If you are sore or want to try something new give this place a chance. A lot of people seem to be confused on what the business is from the outside I have heard but it's also a hard thing to explain in a one to three word business name limit. read more

Love this place and the staff is great but had to give them 2 stars because the hours aren't great. They close for 3 hours in the middle of the day and then close again by 7pm which doesn't leave much time to get there after work if you have anything else going on. A few months back they ran test hours until 8pm and the place had 8-10 people there each night which would seem like plenty of demand but they never changed anything. They might also be the only fitness oriented business that is closed on New Years Day. Would love to go here more but with their very limited hours it makes it very difficult. I relocated to Phoenix from Chicago almost 4 years ago. I was researching infrared saunas and Balunsd was one of the only locations offering this service in the valley. As a birthday gift to myself, I purchased a day pass and was BLOWN away by the facility. Infrared, cold plunge and Normatek all for the price of one single service back in Chicago. Balunsd has made recovery accessible for EVERYONE. After all, we are athletes in this life! Fast forward 3 years, and I'm still impressed by the facility and staff. The Infrared lured me in, BUT the community has kept me a member. I received a phone call from one of the owners as a check in during Covid closure, and the Balunsd community has done everything within their ability to support members during the reopening phase. The owners CARE, and I consider Balunsd a home away from home. I could 't recommend Balunsd more. It is rare to stumble across a business where the facility accommodations mirror the culture. read more

I would highly recommend Balunsd AZ! I've been coming here for over a year and discovered the place following a running injury. It's now part of my almost daily practice to come here to use the amazing recovery tools I can't access anywhere else. I'm a runner and without Balunsd, I wouldn't recover as fast as I do and wouldn't be able to run the miles I run without pain/soreness! Each visit I contrast in the hot/ice tubs, use the infrared sauna and normatect boots. I was devestated when Balunsd had to close their doors during COVID-19 lock down, and I'm grateful they are back open! Yes there are changes to times, max people and prices. However, this is a changing world we are all in and we have to adapt and be patient. The managers are doing an amazing job at balancing the CDC guidelines while still meeting the needs of their customers. And hey, if I get the Sauna all to myself for 20 mins, I'm not complaining! As for the prices, if I have to pay a more to help support this wonderful small/local business stay open, that's an easy choice.
