Seriously one of my favorite BBQ restaurants in Utah County. Their brisket is probably their best, but the turkey, ribs, pork, and sausage are all excellent too. I really like their mac and cheese, and potato salad. I wouldn't say people come here from the sides though. Swachos (BBQ nachos) are also a favorite. I usually get it with brisket, but you can't go wrong with pulled pork or chopped beef. Their limited menu speaks to the point that they are focused and and doing their thing exceptionally well. We typically get family-sized portions of brisket, pork, turkey, sausage and chopped meat with a variety of sides. It all slays. While their sauces are exceptional, their meats stand on their own and I often find that I don't usually use much of the sauces as I savor the taste of the BBQ. I personally think this is the best you can get in Utah. The owner/guy who started it did his apprenticeship at Franklin's in Austin which for those who haven't had Texas BBQ, Franklin BBQ in Austin is one of the most famous and consistently has a line out the door- there are a handfull of well-known places in Austin and Franklin is one of the top 3. The fact that we can have a piece of something authentic like that in Orem, UT is kinda mind blowing to me, and I haven't found anything better than Bam Bam's thus far. These guys have my vote for the best brisket and sausage I've had in the valley, especially their Jalapeño cheddar sausage - pretty freaking good. Brisket is incredibly difficult to find done well in our state. It's often times too dry no matter what, but it's been the least dry and honestly pretty good that I've found - is it Texas perfect/moist? Not totally there - but it is best in state, and I haven't had better here. I guess the best part of it all is that I took a 1/2 lb of brisket/pork/sausage and all the sides home and reheated it with a wet paper towel in the microwave for a minute 20 seconds and it lasted 2 days and was honestly still pretty damn decent in an impressive way. It far exceeded my expectations on not only fresh in restaurant (have had the brisket sandwhich and all the meats and sides) in addition to far exceeding reheating and traveling back to South Jordan from Orem and being in the fridge for 2 days. I love their buns, and the sauces are on point. It's still not what you can get in Texas, but it's definitely probably still the best you'll get in Utah. I haven't found better, so it's my recommended BBQ spot here in the state at home and it'll be where I pick up BBQ everytime I'm down in Orem. read more

I came here for Father's Day, so I wouldn't be surprised when I walked in and saw how packed the tiny place is. I've heard about this place in a FB group so I got excited and decided to take my father to this place. Because of the special occasion, it took a while to find seats for the family. Once we were settled, the line starts to die down and gets a little quiet. I ordered brisket and sausgae links. For the side, I ordered mac and cheese. The meal is pretty tasty, reminds me of when I used to live in Texas. The mac and cheese was funny-looking because I've never seen anyone adding goldfish to it, but it's pretty cute since it must've been catered to kids. 4.5/5 I recommend coming here, especially on special occasions. read more

I love their Mac n cheese and brisket! Although the workers there recommended the turkey, my whole table didn't like it. The turkey here wasn't as good as expected, as it was quite dry and didn't have much seasoning. However, the brisket was very good as it was quite fatty, and had just the perfect amount of seasoning. I wish the nachos came with some.more toppings, like onion, jalapeno, beans or something, instead of just cheese sauce and meat. The ribs were fine too, as was the Mac and cheese. You will not be disappointed! The only thing missing was wet wipes for the bbq fingers after..lol The meats are so flavorful and tender. We got the pulled pork sandwich, ribs, and beef brisket. The brisket and the pulled pork are the best we've ever had. They have 3 kinds of BBQ sauce to put on. A sweet, a spicy and a Carolina (vinegar taste). The sweet was perfect for our taste. My husband is obsessed with finding good BBQ. He also researches and practices smoking meats constantly! He gives Bam Bam's a 5/5. Ribs, pulled pork, and brisket were all really good. Well smoked and seasoned. Mac and cheese was average. I personally ordered the pulled pork potato and dumped my coleslaw on top of it. Pretty dang good! I wasn't sure if I'd like the beans and nacho cheese on there, but it all went together really well. Atmosphere is casual. Great for kids and families. We will be back. read more

I had heard from a few different people that Bam Bam's BBQ was the best in Utah. I was glad I got the chance to try it. I ordered the turkey and brisket. The guy at the counter told me the turkey was the employee favorite and it was great and moist. I missed out on trying the Mac and cheese with goldfish because I didn't know about it until after I ordered but others there said it was good. Of the sauces I steer clear from the Carolina style vinegar stuff but the other two were good! I heard about this restaurant from a podcast I absolutely love. We came down for a late afternoon lunch. The inside is set up like a total hangout spot which must be nice for bigger groups of people, I can see the benefits for sure The workers we interacted with were good, they knew how to do their jobs well it seemed, but they weren't super warm, like friendly really. Not the worst thing in the world, but it made it feel like more of a dude hangout spot. The food was the real star, as it should be. Real quality meat and a real decent quantity as well, I felt like the price was fair for what we got. I had the swachos, wow what a masterpiece, hats off to the person who dreamed this dish up. It had a lot of flavors and it felt like a beautiful mix of simple nachos mixed with the world of BBQ. I'm not going to lie, this is not my most favorite food genre, but this dish made me reconsider. My husband had a sandwich, he enjoyed it, filled him up. Good bun. The Mac and cheese was great as well, perfectly cooked noodles and the goldfish cracker topping was a really unexpected twist to it that really was a tasty addition. This is a solid BBQ joint. I didn't leave blown away, but I did definitely leave satisfied. I'd come back again. Today I got the pulled pork sandwich and loved it! The bun was so scrumptious! I love the space and the environment. They also have two of those high tech soda machines which is really nice. They provide wet wipes on the tables so you can wipe down after going hard on whatever meat you've chosen. I really appreciate that because then I don't have to hold back at all when chowing down. ;) Workers were friendly! A couple of noticeable ways then can improve? -They have three different kinds of BBQ sauces on the tables, but they aren't labeled!!! How am I supposed to know which is which? I even asked the worker which was which, but it was still a little confusing because they look similar. I was left to play a guessing game. -They can step up their game a little bit with the sides. I LOVE baked beans, but the beans here were forgettable. The mac & cheese was fine I guess. Even if they just plated it in a more appetizing way, I think it would go a long way! Absolutely the best BBQ joint in Utah. I've been to Pats downtown salt lake, Sugarhouse bbq and more. This is one you have to go out of your way and try. They have 3 sauces on the table, that I like to mix for my own sweet and spicy dipping. I always ask for the status of their burnt ends first off. And I buy as much of that as we need. Then Mac and cheese. The 3rd go to are the ribs. So well cooked. It's close to BYU and there are pics of winning bbq competitions over the years. A few football related things. Excellent atmosphere. Served on butcher paper as a plate. And the soda fountain is a Pepsi custom mix. So I do a Mountain Dew with peach. If you stop in just know I wish I could be there with you. read more

I ordered the brisket "quacho" to-go. It was nice because they gave me the different foods separately so they didn't get soggy before I was able to eat it. Unfortunately, the corn chips I was provided were quite stale. It killed the whole dish for me since it's basically just BBQ nachos. The brisket was salty, but flavorful. There's a lot to love about this BBQ joint and a few things that were just okay. Loves: - The decor and ambiance of the place. Very cool inside and a great set up for a bbq spot. They have HUGE bottles of sauce on every table so you aren't having to hunt it down every where. Make sure and get your picture taken with the pig out front, he's pretty cool. - The sides were awesome. We tried the Mac and Cheese (the goldfish crackers on top were a hit), the tater salad (good vinegar flavor that I loved) and the beans. The beans were probably the best I have had in Utah. Yes, they were that good. - Bread and crackers. I know that sounds weird but some of us like to "mop up" and the bread and crackers combo is cool. The Really good: The meats we tried were good. The brisket sandwich was made with the flat so it was less fatty. My brisket platter was more point so it was fattier. That doesn't scare me but turned off the other people in the party. Good bark, not too much rub flavor, and the meat was smoked well. The wife tried the turkey and it was good too. Not too heavy on rub and the smoke flavor was perfect. I wanted to try the sausage but it was out (weird for a Thursday afternoon but it's bbq, I get it.) The only downfall (and it's a personal pet peeve) is the tip shaming up front.
