I booked the ASMR Korean Head Spa + Facial package at Bamboo Wellness simply for the fact that it's a new and trending service and am a sucker for anyone handling my head. I'd never done a Korean head spa before and after doomscrolling too many videos, I convinced myself that I needed to experience it for myself. Getting there was fairly easy with the hotels validated valet parking. Fair warning though, with all the construction happening around the Grand Hotel right now, finding your way to the spa lobby is a bit of a crapshow (literally). But it's no fault to Bamboo so once I made it to their suite, the salon smells made up for the route there. The front of the salon is all the hair, nails and feet. In the back they have three head spa beds set up in the treatment area. Without hesitation I quickly changed to their wrap and was ready to go. My scalp, head, neck, and shoulders got the kind of attention I honestly should have been giving them years ago. The massage, facial and head wash was incredible, hands down everything I expected. I upgraded to the deep conditioning treatment and added the hair oil, with all the working out I'm doing I've been seriously neglecting my tresses. Kelly took super good care of my service and was simply wonderful. She was attentive, very thorough and made the experience feel relaxing from beginning to end. I went in curious about the whole experience and left completely em the hype. My scalp was happy, my shoulders had apparently forgiven me for whatever I've been putting them through and left so incredibly relaxed and rejuvenated. I've been going to Bamboo Spa for almost 6 months now and honestly it became one of my favorite places for recovery and self-care in Miami. My favorite treatment is the massage with cupping therapy, especially with Andy. He works really deeply into the muscles and can release a lot of tension, which I personally love after workouts and tennis. At the same time, if you prefer a softer approach, you can always ask him to adjust the pressure. I also really like the location in Edgewater, the valet parking, and the fact that it's usually easy to book an appointment without scheduling weeks ahead. Another huge plus for me is their cancellation policy -- you can cancel up to 2 hours before, which is honestly amazing and super convenient with a busy schedule. The spa itself is clean, relaxing, and they have many specialists available. You can tell they care about creating a comfortable experience. Like most Miami locals, I kept seeing Bamboo's viral "head spa" all over Instagram and finally decided it was time to see what the hype was about. They were running the Miami Spa Month deal, two services for $180, so I booked a facial and massage. Full transparency: my first visit was a nightmare. I don't normally complain, but the service I received from Angela was honestly the worst two hours I've ever had in a spa. I left upset enough that I went back to reported it to the front desk. To their credit, the receptionist and the owner handled it with kindness, not only waiving the charge but also gifting me a certificate to come back for two more services. That gesture completely changed the trajectory of my relationship with Bamboo. And wow, am I glad I gave them another shot. Round two, I booked a massage with Andy and all I can say is WOW, the best massage of my entire life. He intuitively found every pressure point like my body was "talking" to him. Since then, I'll be booking Andy on repeat. My partner also tried the head spa and loved her experience. She didn't remember the name of her service provider but said she would definitely come back an it was a very relaxing experience! Round three, I came back for a last-minute evening facial with Ruby. Her technique was solid and I enjoyed the way she worked in some facial massage along with shoulders and legs. She has great massage technique.The problem was the noise. Her phone was constantly buzzing like she recieved a message and she moved around so quickly that the constant slamming of the door, clattering bowls, and loud movements made it hard to relax. The facial itself was great, but the environment she created pulled me out of that calm spa headspace I was hoping for. The experience itself: check-in is quick, just give your name and take a seat. Personally, I wish they leaned into a more spa-like feel with dim rooms, tea, or warm neck wraps rather than just waiting in the lobby. Providers don't typically ask about concerns, so if you want something specific addressed, make sure to speak up. After checkout, service providers stand nearby while you tip, which can feel a little awkward, especially if you weren't thrilled with your service. Bottom line: Bamboo isn't "luxury spa" vibes, but if you book with the right providers, it's worth it. Andy is hands down a must if you want a massage that feels life-changing. Ruby's facial was great, though the noise kept it from being truly relaxing. I'll definitely be back, but more for the talent of specific providers than the overall spa ambiance. read more

I was going to remain quiet about my observations until I noticed the abrasion burns on the top of 4 toes, that were burning when the Callus remover was applied and left on too long. I was charged $175 for a basic manicure and a deluxe pedicure. These pictures were taken 2 days after my service. I was in the salon on Thursday evening, and flew home Friday. It had been a month since my last pedicure. Notice the hangnails and flecks of cuticle all over my 2 small toes on my left foot. Notice the rectangular shaped chemical/abrasion burns on the toes. I also did not enjoy having paraffin wax spilled on my black pants. Now, let's discuss my observations of the environment. The employees are nice, they have very limited use of the English Language and prices are not clear. Also not clear: to get a massage on hands and forearm of the manicure is an additionL $40. The manicure involved 20 second dip in a cold bowl of water, and Dremel tool filing of the nail beds. Not what I expected. I asked for clear polish on my fingers and received a hasty sanding with the file and no polish, no lotion. The owner's children tween girl and younger boy were in the salon HANGING on mom and the employees. This was literally grabbing her neck and shoulders and releasing their feet to have their mom hold all their weight. As they were busy doing this in a professional licensed salon, people were coming in and trying to pay and trying to make an appointment. The little boy was swinging around his mom and tripped an older lady. Advice to the salon: if you don't have time to do the services kindly, please reject the client. Just tell them you are busy. With tip, I was over $200 for a harrowing experience. STOP BEING UNPROFESSIONAL AND PREDATORY with tourists! I am going to make sure the hotel never recommends you. I got a mani/pedi and a massage and had a very mixed experience. I would caution anyone about massages in particular. First the good: The ambiance downstairs was nice and the facilities were clean. The mani/pedi was entirely fine. Solid 3/5 stars. Efficient in terms of time, but the paint coverage was patchy in areas and I wasn't a fan of the technician dremeling the exposed lengths of my nail. Since I didn't have any polish on, it felt unnecessary and I wasn't getting gels. After being painted, it feels uneven rather than smooth, and I'm worried how it will look when it grows out and the paint comes off since I sometimes prefer a clear and natural look. Then there's the massage. 1/5 experience end-to-end and I will never go back. I asked for a combination Swedish massage and foot massage with a female masseuse. I instead got a male masseuse who gave me a deep tissue massage. My friend was on the massage table next to me, and during this massage I repeatedly asked for lighter pressure, particularly on my leg because I had a very bad leg injury and it is very tender. Unfortunately my masseuse seemed insistent to continue to push my limits even with my friend chiming in to ensure he understood what I was saying. I do not speak Chinese, but after the fact my friend who is fluent in Chinese said he was debating her and the other masseuse saying why did I ask for a massage if I didn't want strong pressure. Over and over again I said less pressure, especially on my bad leg, and yet it felt like he was insistent to give me a deep tissue massage. And unsurprisingly now, a day and change later, I have dark bruises on my back, shoulders, tailbone, and neck, and I regret not asking for someone else when it became clear he was going to do what he wanted to do. :/ It's just really disappointing that I came in asking for a gentle Swedish massage and feel like I was bullied into an altogether different experience. This was not at all what I wanted on my vacation. In any case, the feedback on the masseuse I had obviously only reflects one person in particular, and if you choose to go to Bamboo I recommend you stick to your guns and are willing to call a stop to the session if you aren't getting what you (repeatedly) asked for. I kept hoping my masseuse would adjust what he was doing, but alas: I'm left with only bruises, soreness, and regrets. read more

The staff are all Chinese, not trained in Korean beauty or scalp techniques, and the experience they promote online is far better than what clients actually receive. Treatments often skip important steps, and the products used are cheap, generic items easily found on Amazon you could do those basic facials at home. Clients should always research the products applied to their skin, as Bamboo Spa's offerings do not meet genuine Korean skincare standards. Legally, this spa raises many red flags. The owner reportedly paid for licenses without completing the required training or even speaking English, which violates Florida cosmetology laws that require documented education and competency for client safety. How can staff provide proper, safe treatments without adequate communication or training? This is unfortunately common in Miami's beauty scene, where many pay for licenses without real education, exploiting the popularity of "K-beauty" as a marketing ploy. Miami is, frankly, a fraud and scam city when it comes to "Korean" spas. Hygiene and labor conditions at Bamboo Spa are also concerning. Staff reportedly touch their phones then clients' faces without proper cleansing, a violation of basic health standards. Workers live in cramped hotel apartments with bunk beds, raising serious labor law and human rights questions. The massage area upstairs even displays human trafficking signage, highlighting troubling ties sometimes found in Miami spas. Almost every Miami spa claims to be the "first Korean" this or that including Mood Wellness Spa in Coral Gables, which claims to be "Miami's First Korean Head Spa." Do better research. These claims are laughable marketing hype. Authentic Korean spas in Miami and Fort Lauderdale are extremely rare only two or three places truly meet the high standards you should expect. Korea is known as the gold standard in beauty worldwide, and I've worked in the beauty industry for over 10 years. Miami's beauty education is behind at least five years behind the trends and I've shown real Korean spa professionals what's being done, and they've laughed at how far Miami still lags. Bamboo Spa, Mood Wellness, and others like them wouldn't last a day in California or NYC or other areas with Asian population. the stringent regulations and higher professional standards there would shut them down immediately. As a Korean-Latina with deep industry experience, I know the difference between real Korean beauty and cheap imitations. I was so excited for this appointment. I had booked the ASMR Head Spa with the Express Facial. As much as I wanted it to be, it didn't quite go as expected. I checked in and waited in the front while they prepped for me. During this time, I noticed one of the stylists in the salon area vaping at his chair after he finished doing a blowout. I was called back a short time later. The rooms are really tight and the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling, they are open at the top. It was also unusually warm back in the spa rooms area. At different points during the service I could hear and was distracted by various conversations coming from other rooms or the hallway, for example a mom and her young son as well as one of the employees and another customer. For a spa service, you expect a level of privacy and peace in your space - and for spa prices. The service started with some head scratching and massaging using different tools. Unfortunately, it didn't do anything for me. It looks and sounds better on video. Then the facial began. This was my favorite part of the service. The young lady who provided my service did any amazing job with this. It made me wonder if this was the express facial, what would a full facial be like? She finished with the hair wash service which was nice. My hair felt great afterwards. They use good products. While hair drying and styling aren't part of the service, there is a free hair drying station that you can use - and I did. You can also pay for a blowout and style. After I completed my spa service, I decided to run to the restroom. While I was "streaming", I was attacked by a German cockroach. Y'all, I can't make this up. The shenanigans that ensured during the battle will remain between me and my adversary. But because of this, I cannot go back. Everyone was nice but I now have PTSD from my trip to the bathroom. I booked an infrared sauna, a facial, and a lymphatic massage. The sauna experience was okay. The infrared part didn't work so it was just sauna. I'm accustomed to having a place to wash off after the sauna. There was one bathroom with a shower, but it was the only bathroom there and it wasn't suggested I wash off before my facial. The facial was okay. I would only recommend a facial here if you don't really have breakouts. She extracted most leaving 1 or 2. I would say I had about 5-7 active breakouts at time of facial. The showstopper here was the lymphatic massage. 5 stars! I loved it. My esthetician was so thorough and personable while attending to my service. I'm moving back to NYC, but if I weren't I would come here for that alone. This place has THE BEST facials in Miami! I stumbled upon this salon on ClassPass and was honestly blown away. The attention to detail, the devices used, the customer service, everything. You walk in and are greeted by the front desk attendant. And she lets your massage therapist or facial therapist know you're ready. You're led into a back room and get a chance to change and get in the facial bed. From there, it's heaven on earth for 60 minutes. I got the GuaSha facial and it had an ultrasonic cleanse, blackhead removal, red light therapy, multiple masks, scalp, shoulder, neck, and arm massage, the actual gua sha massage, and then steam. Went for a massage with my bestie before we got on our cruise. We figured we would pamper ourselves. At first it was ok but towards the end there was pulling of my fingers and I felt they were going to break. Then the guy pulled my arms behind me and attempted to lift my body up by my arms facing backwards. I screamed "my body doesn't move like that". Then he put me in a pretzel and I heard a pop. And ever since then I can't walk right. I burn from my hip down to my ankle. But my friend had it a lot worse. So bad that she was throwing up and dizzy for the first two days of our cruise. When we got to our first port in key west I found a walk in chiropractor and took her immediately. The doctor said who ever massaged her didn't have any training and blocked her toxins inside her body to where it made her ill. She got an adjustment and felt instantly better. Everyone there is so sweet and their work is amazing. I easily book online, I've never had to wait to start a treatment and I always get a few. I have done the head spa 10/10. Korean facial I add gua sha at end (life changing relaxation) I get my eyelashes done there (so beautiful and natural looking) while I get my lashes done I always get a foot massage (I feel like a princess) I've gotten amazing pedicures and even apres gel x nails (some of the best I've ever gotten) I got a blowout yesterday which was amazing. I've even brought my toddler for her nails they were so sweet and I brought my mom we got facials side by side. OK, it's 3.5 stars, and here is why. Everybody that works there is very polite to your face. I know they just opened, and they are still settling into their day-to-day operations. I have gone twice. The first time I went there I got the head spa treatment and a blowout. They both were, relaxing and done adequately well. The second time I went back, I requested a nail technician for a Russian manicure. I also got a haircut and a blowout. My haircut and blowout were fantastic, I will definitely go back for both. I was told that the nail technician that was going to do my Russian manicure was not available so I got another woman who only does gel manicures, I was told. she cut way too much of my cuticles and four of my fingers are still swollen two days after; I keep putting Neosporin on them hoping they will not get infected. Really painful. When I was about to pay the woman at the cashier desk, a nail technician, told her to charge me for a Russian manicure. I said this was not a Russian manicure which I usually get, the woman who did my nails insisted it was a Russian manicure, the woman at the front was very uncomfortable. I figure that it was not worth the 30$ overcharge arguing with this woman. This would be a lesson to not go back for any nail services. I do not appreciate the "bait and switch." For further reference, a Russian manicure does not involve any soaking of the nails. It is essentially a dry manicure. The nail technician had me soak all my nails. can give this place 2 stars at best. My best friend and I booked a Head Spa Treatment each, a massage, and a blow out. The Head Spa treatment was supposed to include a scalp analysis. However they didn't preform it until the end when we demanded it. And at that point it was worthless as anything that had been there previously was gone. The hair wash was good but it wasn't worth the price of admission. The massage was the first thing we did. It was my first lymphatic massage, and maybe it's different than other ones. I belong to one of those membership massage places and get regular treatments. In my experience I've never been touched like that before and it frankly made me uncomfortable. Maybe they should prep people or at least be able to communicate what's happening. My massage therapist was incredibly limited in the ability to communicate in a manner I could understand. The blow out which on our reservation showed as free cost us way more than it was worth. My hair was 70% dry by the time it was started. It took maybe 5 minutes and cost me 40 dollars. While the stylist said he was going to give me volume my hair was flat to my head and not worth anything. My friends massage was very lackluster she was supposed to get hot stones and maybe got them for 2 minutes total, She too said it was the worst blow out she's ever received, However she loved her head spa service.
