Ensconced between a karate school and a salon is a fabulous Thai restaurant serving fresh and delicious food. The stuffed chicken wings, curry puffs, and hot basil vegetables (lunch special) sashayed their way onto our table in all their glory, tasting fresh and hot with each bite. The stuffed chicken wing was coated in panko, fried to a crisp without being greasy, and the filling complemented the crispy exterior. The curry puffs were beautifully wrapped and braided, filled with a delicate mixture of vegetables and curry. Lastly, the hot basil vegetables were perfectly cooked. I ordered a level 1 spice, and I could still feel the heat. The lunch special also came with white rice, a salad, a fried dumpling, and an orange. A complimentary dessert was served--gelatin, fruit, coconut milk (I think), and ice. It was a nice way to end a hot, spicy meal on a warm July day. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and the service was attentive and quick. Our water glasses were refilled without asking, and the bill was brought promptly. This is a great little local Thai spot. This dining area is pretty small, but it's usually quick to get a table. The food here is delicious with great flavors. The staff is always friendly even on busy holidays. They even give you complimentary Tapioca Coconut Milk for dessert. This is our favorite local Thai spot!! We get takeout here all the time - our favorites are the chicken pad Thai and the cashew chicken, we typically also order a side of steamed broccoli as well to round things out and everything is always cooked perfectly and packaged nicely. If you sit in to eat they'll often offer a free sweet dessert at the end which is nice. They also have a great lunch special on weekday afternoons where you can order a variety of dishes (pad Thai, Panama curries, also cashew chicken and more) and it'll come with soup and salad at a discount. It's a small restaurant, they have a few tables. As I walked in the server greeted me and seated me and three others at a table. They took our drink orders promptly. The food was all really delicious. We started out with fried calamari as our appetizer, it was the perfect crisp, the sauce compliments it really well. Pad Thai was so flavorful. The Curry Catfish was amazing with white rice. I'm not a fried rice fan but their Crab Fried Rice converted me. I was very pleased with all the food choice. What a find! Finally made it in to try this place out and omg. It was SO DELICIOUS!! We got pad Thai, yellow curry, and the spicy eggplant. It was all so tasty, but the eggplant was the star in my eyes. SO flavorful. Spicier than the average Thai place in this area, but even at a 10 it wasn't too spicy for us. This was my first time trying Thai food as I've always been hesitant since I have a nut allergy, but my friend brought me here after trying it herself ensuring they were very allergy friendly. Before we ordered we let them know our tables' nut allergies and they ensured everything we ordered would be nut free. Server was really nice and had good recommendations. We did family style which was perfect to try multiple dishes. We got the sweet and sour shrimp, yellow curry, red curry, kapow kai krog, and the pad see-iw noodles. Everything was absolutely delicious BUT my favorites have to be the pad see-iw noodles and the kapow kai krog. The flavors of both dishes were immaculate. Even better was after our meal, they gave us each a bowl of dessert. Coconut milk with tapioca balls and some fruit. Delicious way to end a great meal! I will be coming back to try more thai dishes! Tried this new quaint spot. I ordered: -Papaya Salad level 6 (perfect amount of heat. Big portion and very refreshing. It wasn't smash like it should typically be; sauce was just drenched over the papaya slivers but it was good. I really enjoyed the flavor, kind of reminded me more of pickled veggies. Next time, I will ask for it with fermented fish paste for more traditional flavor I like) -Spicy Noodles with Tofu level 6 (delicous! hit the spot and also a big portion. One of the best I have had in a while). My cousin ordered a beef curry dish level 5 which was also good (not sure type but I'd give that particular one 3.5/5). We were also given a small cup of tapioca balls in coconut milk with cantaloupe balls for dessert. It was a perfect ending and size. Service was great around dinner time. One other table was there when we arrived but it quickly filled up. Plenty of parking. We started with the "Summer Shrimp " appetizer which was so simple so light and suuuuuper hummy! This dish is cool looking worth the photos and videos for any social media.The stand out is there sweet and sour sauce it's so flavorful and not overly sweet at all.I could have eaten these all day! For the main course we ordered the Khao-Soi (Noodle Curry), Hawaiian fried rice, and spicy noodles!!! No complaints at all I mean every single thing we had not only looked good it tasted amazing I love when I can get new flavors that I've ever tasted! This is the perfect Thai restaurant for those who are new to Thai cuisine. The spice levels aren't hot at all for those who can handle heat. We ordered the Tom Ka count soup, pad see ew with chicken, drunken noodles, papaya salad and Tom Yum. There are better versions of the papaya salad out there. Mine just wasn't spicy and that was a big miss. It had a great texture and a nice balance of salty, sour and sweet. Tom Ka was great, it was on the sweeter side. My kids enjoyed the soups and noodles. Tom Yum needed more lemon grass. I've had Thai all over San Diego and this establishment falls in the middle but towards the lower end. My husband and I always come for the curry and fresh tofu rolls. We've tried the Massaman, green and Panang curry. My husband can't really handle spice and he gets spicy level three. I like spicy but I don't like it to overpower my plate so I get about a five or six. The service can take a while when they're busy so I recommend calling about 30 minutes before. It's our first time visiting here. One of the Thai food place in La Mesa. It looks family own and has been around for a while. We sat down quickly and the service was good. We started the meal with Thai ice tea which is served in a fancy tall glass. I always order pad see Ew when I visit a new Thai restaurant. Their Pad See Ew was good. Better than some of Thai places. It's standard as you can expect. We had another dish, the Stir fried squid with shrimp. It is slightly spicy. Good flavor but slightly salty. We've been eating here for years. Whenever my parents come to visit this is always the place they want to go the most. Food is fresh and delicious and we always order a large variety. Hands down the best pad see ew and basil beef. They also have the lightest fried orange chicken that's so flavorful - it's a different texture than most places and we love it! My mom is obsessed with the eggplant, she always orders pork with it and we rotate in other items as our cravings change! CONS: The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the food is not consistent. Not saying it's bad because it's not. It's little things that may bother some. The spice level is not always the same. Their spice level is 3-10. I used to get 7 then it got super spicy.. so I went down to 6 but it was the same. Tried level 5 and it was barely spicy. The appetizers portions are also not consistent. The summer shrimp had more crunchy noodles than the shrimp. Best Thai food in San Diego! Great value, everything is always hot & fresh (they put soo many fresh veggies in their food!) and provide excellent service. The yellow curry and pad thai are great, and the tom yum soup is beyond words. There was a parking lot so don't worry about parking! We spent about 60$ for the two of us but you can get really full with 10-20$ per person! This was our first visit but I'm telling you it is a really great place!! The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was great! The cute decorations and music were really relaxing! The staff is so friendly and they kept checking on us and brought us water frequently. The bamboo basket is really good! It was really crunchy, fresh and tasty, the two sauces that came with it were perfect to go with, I especially love that there were two little spoons by the sauce so you won't get everywhere messy. We had the spicy level 4 green curry and it was really spicy for us but so goood! It's really flavorful and you can taste the creamy coconut in it! I had a medium rare Tiger Cry Steak but it was too well done and too dry for me, but besides that the vegetables that came with it were fresh and well cooked, the mint sauce was really good too! We loved our dessert!!! The mango sticky rice is a little different than any other mango sticky rice I've had before, it's a little salty and a little sweet, it's a good balance and you gotta try it yourself!! read more

I'm highly disappointed because my last experience here was on Thurs, 7/24. I've eaten here twice and had a great experience but this evening has now turned me complete off. I brought a friend to dine here and we put our orders in and I asked for a small side of Yellow curry sauce to pour on my yellow curry rice I had just ordered. Minutes later I'm told that it was going to cost me $7 for the sauce. The last two times I was there, I was charged $3 for the sauce. That didn't sit well either me. I then told them that we no longer want to dine there and we left. The lady proceeded to talk loud explaining why. A bottle of yellow curry sauce at Trader Joe's isn't $7. This was the worst experience from a restaurant I've had the food wasn't really work it and on top of that the lady overcharged me and said she "made a mistake" when in fact she didn't and they charged me 2 more dollars which was super strange and when I can back to let them know it said I " tipped" which in fact it didn't the lady told me I was wrong when I knew she was lying. My cousin & I came for lunch & it was a big disappointment from customer services to food. Seem like they're short staff. When we first sat down he took a while to come get our order. We ordered thum yum seafood pot with extra mushrooms. We literally had 2 shrimps, 2 squids, 2 lil pieces of fish. Waiter didn't come back to ck on us if we needed more water, napkins or see if we're choking on our food ect. On the positive part we did get our extra mushrooms. We paid and walked out the restaurant when this young male server comes tracking me down, pats my shoulder and asks me "did you not like my service? Why didn't you tip me?!" I didn't even know what to say, but he continues on to tell me "if you don't want to tip then you have to order take out but if you dine in that means you want the service and must tip". I was shocked and embarrassed I had no words. I can't believe he had the nerve to track me down after I had already walked out the restaurant. The food was mid and his service was not great. Ordered the yellow chicken curry and chicken pad Thai and let me tell you that was the most amazing Thai food I've had in a while. The portions are a good size and they taste delicious. We came in on a Wednesday night and it was popping! It was so busy! I Can see why with such delicious food. It can get a little loud as the space isn't very big and it's loud but overall worth the wait. We ordered a level zero spicy but some spice on the side and the spice was spicy!!
