Solid service with good recommendations from staff. I wish they didn't run out of toro and uni, but I'll be back to try other dishes given the others were edible. Salmon teriyaki was a bit overcooked, but sashimi lunch was decent. Oseki sake was worth ordering another bottle to take home. Hopefully, I can see level up the stars when they don't run out sashimi :)

Just really not good...the fish wasn't fresh, the rice was hard, and the service was iffy. I mean I wouldn't go for sushi in this area anyways but had to be there for work so figured why not grab a quick lunch. Lesson learned- no sushi in Rego Park!

The food tastes great. I like bird nest roll quite a lot. Soft shell crab is a great choice for appetizer. The golden dragon roll is ok. The tuna tower is unique and I'd recommend it. Service is fast and waiters are nice. The ambiance is really cool. There's some music playing in the background but not too noisy.

Food: first time here after walking past it for so many years. Was Craving sushi and this place had the highest rating in the area. Ordered the veggie gyoza, spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll and peanut avocado rolls. They were good but nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered spicy mayo on the side which was just okay, I've had better. The veggie gyoza dumplings were not great at all in flavor or texture. Price: items were fairly price, same as any other sushi restaurant. Service: i ordered to go. They said order would be ready in 15. I arrived in 15 min and my ordered was indeed ready on time. Woman at the register was friendly and efficient. Verified the name and number for my order. Ambiance: there are tvs and a bar giving it a sport bar feel which was unexpected. There was some seating further back but not a huge location. Still seemed clean and up kept. Woman who gave me my food wore a mask. Overall okay, not best I've ever had, especially not for 5 stars. I'll probably go back and dine in and update my review.

We had a couple meals here since its closer to my nursing college. Today - my bento box had a maggot crawling Utterly disgusted. This was my final meal here.

Customer service was amazing. They kept refilling my tea which I really appreciated since I've been to restaurants that don't even come by unless I call them over! Had a quick Saturday lunch and got a sushi boat for two. Absolutely loved the presentation, sashimi was fresh, and seating was unique. The nigiris and rolls were just okay. When you go in, there are a few booths that are Japanese style where you take your shoes off.

Bamboo Ya on the surface appears to be another Chinese owned sushi place in Queens. However, for this kind of establishment, I find them to be top notch in all aspects. The place is very clean and it is very spacious. They even have these unique wooden booth seating areas where you have to take off your shoes. In terms of food, I have eaten here several times and everything has always been very fresh. The sushi bar is at the very front so you can actually see the workers making all of the sushi. The non-sushi stuff we have had (tempura, yakisoba, pork katsu, salads, ramen) have been equally good as well - boasting good flavor and seasoning all around. Best of all, they offer huge portion sizes on anything that you order.

Dope lil local spot! If your bartender don't fill you glass like my pics.... Leave!!!!! Shrimp shumimi- delicious Duck fried rice - amazing Fried chicken drumsticks-4/5 good B roll- ultimate favorite!! Fresh, crunchy, not too heavy. My reg order Duck roll- ok 1/5, falls apart, I don't like warm stuff in my sushi rolls! Asparagus+ - flavorful and delicious Don't know how I still eat healthy after drinking two martinis but it's the park of coming here!!! I don't feel guilty after HAPPY HOUR 3-7pm

I ordered a dragon roll and it was pretty good. Fresh avocado on top of an eel cucumber roll. Pretty yummy and satisfied my cravings for a cooked roll. The outside waiter was a little rude though. I had a bicycle with me, and had asked him if he can let the staff inside know that I have a pickup order, so when they are done please let me know, and I will come into get it. I didn't want to block the restaurant with my bicycle. He responded with a no and said that he cannot leave his outside post. He told me to leave my bike out here, go in and let them know and then come back out. No way i was leaving my bike outside.. The maddening part was that he proceeded to bring dirty dishes inside. He could've told them easily -_- poor customer service.

The ambiance of this restaurant is very sleek and a bit over the top in the best way. But you can also show up in sweats and a hat and feel right at home. We ordered so much food and they have an amazing lunch special that runs from 11-4pm, even on a weekend. We did the BBQ squid and the Rick shrimp to start. So good. The Mayo sauce on top was tasty and the squid had a slightly sweet brown sauce. We both got the 3 roll lunch special. I got eel cucumber, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. I liked all of them but wasn't a fan of the spicy tuna. The fish was minced up so fine it almost felt like a mushy paste and they put the caviar roe in it which was unexpected. It was a lot of food and we didn't spend much. We were the first people in the restaurant and then other folks started to show up. The staff are friendly and attentive. It's very clean and organized. I'd go back but I'd probably do the 2 roll special or not order such hefty appetizers. I forgot to mention it comes with miso soup or salad. I got the soup. I love me some miso soup! @saltandsavor

Food was horrible. Good service but horrible food. Everything tasted like it's been sitting there for a long time. Sushi wasn't fresh at all . Omg! A roach came running out of the sushi boat when we were done! Nasty !

    Yellowtail roll wasn't fresh!

Instead, I was served a cheeseburger with french fries, which was completely different from what I ordered. When I brought this to the staff's attention, the response was dismissive and argumentative, rather than focused on resolving the issue. Rather than escalate the situation, I chose to leave. Although I had already paid, I did not feel comfortable staying or continuing the conversation. This was especially disappointing because I have been a loyal customer for years, long before the new ownership. I used to visit frequently, and even now, I go out of my way, often 40 minutes, to come here when I am in Queens dropping off my kids. As someone who does not eat cheeseburgers, receiving that order was both frustrating and avoidable with basic attention to detail. I truly hope the new management takes steps to improve both service and communication moving forward. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning. This is coming from a person that has been coming to this place for years. It's sad.

What a neighborhood GEM!! Kuku Korean was fantastic! Fresh, tasty food at reasonable prices!…read more We (6 of us) were in the neighborhood for a Valentine's Day celebration and searched Yelp for a good ethnic restaurant in the area. We came across Kuku Korean and said YESSS, this is the place to go! The only wrench in our plans was that Kuku Korean doesn't take reservations; not even on Valentine's Day! They warned us that they expected to be very busy that evening, and to expect a wait. Ok, we made plans to go, but also made a Resy with another restaurant close by, as a backup plan in case there was a long wait for a table. But really, Kuku Korean was our preferred first choice. After our V Day event, we rushed over to Kuku Korean to see what the wait time was for a table for 6. It was just after 6pm, and the stars were aligned for us, because we got the last large table available! Woo Hoooo! Happy Valentine's Day to us!! We quickly cancelled our Resy with the other restaurant (sorry!) and perused Kuku Korean's fabulous menu. Our MENU (shared by 6ppl): ~ Seafood Pajeon ($24/large): Crispy battered pancake made with green onions & seafood (mussels, clams, squid, and shrimp). This was phenomenal! So much seafood and such a comforting dish...get this! ~ Veg Japche ($21): Stir-fried Korean vermicelli with Kuku soy-garlic Japchae sauce and assorted veggies. This dish was also available with various proteins but we opted for Veg since we were ordering other meat dishes. This dish was so flavorful and delicious. ~ Kuku Bibimbap ($24): Seasoned vegetables over rice, topped with a fried egg. Served with Kuku spicy bibim sauce. Again, you have the option of adding protein to this dish but we kept it veg. Another great dish! ~ Pork Galbi ($28): Char-grilled Pork ribs marinated in Kuku sauce, served with sauteed onions. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. The pork was cut in thick slices, which was surprising, but wow, this was phenomenal! So tasty and lean, and just delicious. ~ Beef Bulgogi ($33): Sauteed thinly sliced beef rib-eye marinated in Kuku sauce with mushroom, Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. Another phenomenal dish. Bursting with flavor. -- Spicy Squid ($28): Stir-fried squid in spicy Kuku gochujang sauce, onions, hot pepper and carrot. Served with kimachi, daily banchan & purple rice. This squid was prepared perfectly; not over cooked nor rubbery! Great dish. - Ban Chan: generous unlimited servings; fresh & delicious. These 6 dishes, plus Ban Chan was perfect for 6 ppl to share. We finished everything and were fully satisfied. Every single dish was delicious and we ALL said we wanted to return to Kuku Korean to repeat some dishes and try new dishes. Customer service and atmosphere were great. The busser staff did an amazing job and were even more attentive than our server (who we only saw twice)...kudos to the bussers! They were so hard working, with a smiling, friendly attitude! Give them a raise! Looking forward to a return visit to Kuku Korean...hopefully SOON!!

I asked if it was still available and my man hooked me up by popping 2 thick slices of whole grain bread into the toaster and started to hand carve a big hunk of pastrami. I thought I was getting about half of what he pulled out, but he proceeded to pile it all on the bread after squirting on a slew of grainy deli mustard. He apologized for running out of pickles, but all I could think was "Take my money and gimme my sammich!" Even as I cradled the closed plastic container, the smell of hot pastrami permeated my whole bus ride home and I couldn't wait to dig into that salty, peppery crusted, fall apart tender meat sandwich. I'm sure the other people on the bus were jealous. Next time I might even try out some of the other rice & noodle dishes, but that smoky pastrami smell still lingers on in my mind.

Called a week beforehand to make a reservation for 6:15. There was only one other party dining at…read morethe same time. I actually appreciate that they are reservation only - it does make for more quality conversation with your party. We ordered the Agedashi tofu and Magritte duck as appetizers. Both were delicious and had really great sauces that paired well with the dish. For entrees we ordered their black cod, pork hirekatsu, sashimi plate, and their snow crab avocado roll. The black cod was absolutely delicious, so tender, cooked to perfection, jam packed with flavor but not tough or mushy. The hirekatsu was another hit - four large pieces, fried to perfection. The pork itself was still moist and juicy. The sashimi?? So fresh and cleaned perfectly! The quality is definitely on par with what I get in the city so the price is absolutely reasonable to me. Lastly their snow crab and avocado roll - also really good! I love how sweet the snow crab was, there also wasn't too much rice on the roll which was appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful time dining at Katsuno. While the prices may seem a bit high and portions of certain items may not be the largest, the flavor really is authentic and the quality of ingredients used are good too. We will be back!
