Went there on a Sunday just past noon. The restaurant had absolutely no customers. When we walked in the hostess/waitress never greeted us or said anything just showed us to our table then a few minutes later gave us some menus. We ordered the Duck Roll, Happy Family and chicken pad Thai. The duck rolls were 99% vegetable with 1% a few pieces of some minced meat but too small to say if it was actually duck, but if I had to bet money on it, I'd say it wasn't even duck. By some chance if it was duck, at most it may have 1/4 ounce. The happy family dish was a mixture of several seafoods including lobster and chicken, beef and veggies. It took a few minutes but I found the 1 lone piece of lobster good only for one bite. The pad Thai was decent, good sized portion. The bean sprouts were raw and place on one side of the plate. I would have liked the bean sprouts to have been cooked with the noodles and chicken. Overall, a so-so experience. They are now more of a Chinese and Thai place now which is a good thing. The restaurant isn't too big but I would like just over a dozen booths or and it's set up long way. A cut above the local Chinese establishments. I appreciate that they make their own soup noodles. Most places buy them and they are not up to the wide home made type. As you know when you have a craving you simply have to give in. I've been craving one of my all time favorite meals, Chicken Wangs! Fried hard, cut in half, with the tip removed. Of course I placed a double order. I changed my mind at least four times before I decided on what else I wanted besides the wings. The woman over the phone was the absolute sweetest. She didn't rush me to make up my mind and she didn't get upset when I changed my mind more than once. As I was perusing the menu I realized that Asian Fortune is a Chinese and Thai restaurant that offers a little bit of everything for everyone. I ended up adding curry puffs and beef fried rice sans the veggies and eggs to my takeout order. The wings weren't seasoned the way I like, they were just ok. I didn't taste any salt which I'm not a fan of, but what about the rest of the seasonings? I'm hoping that was just a bad batch. Also the beef fried rice tasted oddly light and fresh. It wasn't your typical fried rice. I can't explain it although the beef wasn't cooked to my liking. They looked a little pale in comparison to other restaurant's beef fried rice. I'm not sure if it was on the bland side because I didn't ask for veggies, eggs, or onions. I ended up removing the beef from the rice, adding a bit of soy sauce and extra duck sauce which helped a little bit. The curry puffs look more like mini empanadas stuff to capacity with veggies, potatoes, and chicken blended perfectly to fit into the fried turnover. They also came with a delicious tangy sauce. They didn't look like your standard curry puffs you'd order from a Thai restaurant, but they were tasty nonetheless. The downside was that my order took over an hour to be delivered and I live about 2 miles away. Also I would think ordering over a certain dollar amount would come with a complimentary soda, soup, or Egg roll. I enjoyed the extra sauce and the fortune cookies. I don't remember the last time I received fortune cookies so that was an unexpected yet nice surprise. read more

There food is very fresh and delicious from there chicken wings to there crispy duck and chicken fried rice with sesame chicken, and there fresh vegetables like broccoli and carrots along with there cauliflower. i have been here numerous times over the years and it always a nice place dine .it is very clean and friendly atmosphere. So I decided to try this place again after my friend says says it's so good. Unfortunately, I still don't agree. I got the stir fried string beans (if you look at my reviews you can see I've been trying them all around forest hills these were my least favorite) a wonton soup and a roti canai. The roti was more of a paratha and the curry dip(if it was even curry) just wasn't enjoyable. The soup was pretty good I will give them that. The string beans were missing something. This place was actually pretty highly rated compared to others that were available for pickup and delivery. I ordered the standard beef and broccoli for L and I had a beef lo mein. The lo mein was a lil boring but needed slightly more flavor but they did rush it. The shipment of food just came when L was there to pick up our order so they had to try to cook it ASAP. The beef and broccoli was good. I dunno why... but seriously it's not as easy to make as one would think. A lot of Chinese restaurants can't make a good sauce anymore. Again good job here and the beef was actually tasty. Oh and the wonton soup was great. The wonton tasted like a meatball. Soup was tasty. Would come and try more items here. My go-to's include vegetarian General Tso's Bean Curd, Vegetable Egg Roll, and Crab Rangoon. I recommend all of these.. The General Tso's Bean Curd has a balanced flavor that delivers the flavor the chicken version would. Vegetable Egg Roll is the best in Forest Hills, as far as I know. What seems like the sweet taste of cinnamon infused into the roll, providing a unique experience. Crab Rangoon is just an American / Chinese appetizer mixing imitation crab meat and cream cheese with an ultra-tangy red sauce! It's as tasty as it sounds.. If you ask for a something to have less oil or sauce, to make it a little more healthy, they will oblige! That's the case with another favorite - Vegetable Lo Mein. Customer service is excellent. Polite girls answer the phone and make it easy to get your order through. Delivery is always relatively quick. Never had a problem there. Negatives? I was in the mood for Thai food and stopped in the restaurant for some take out. It was cool to see options for Chinese and Thai. I was shocked how busy they were with customers dining in. The small restaurant had a few tables and was very clean. The decor was cool and their chandeliers were really beautiful and stood out in the venue. The staff were friendly and seemed to handle their rush in a timely manner. If i wasn't just coming from the gym, I would've definitely sat down and enjoyed my food in the restaurant. This place is like a hidden gem and I usually order take out even though the interior is really nice albeit compact as you'll see from my photo. Virtually all tables are in private booth style and I think that is awesome, especially if you're hoping to have a more intimate conversation. The place is very clean and that is very important to me. The food is very good, especially for the price. The menu is also good and it's pretty diverse. Best thing is that they don't try to be all things Asian and their fare is primarily Chinese and it's very tasty. I read some of the reviews and it's quite irritating. The owners are nice people even though they are not naturally the most outgoing type. After time, I got to know them a bit better from visiting even though I don't really know their names. They are very hard working people and, like everywhere, get delivery as they can from "freelancers" yet people here tear into the delivery as if this is under most restaurants total control. We usually order the general tsao chicken, wonton soup and crab Rangoon. All are really good. The chicken is made with real white meat, not weird chew all mystery meat like some restaurants use. I love their wonton soup, it's so yummy and satisfying on a cold night. One thing I recommend NOT ordering is the fried rice. It is very boring and bland. For take out, this place is great! I'm so glad I found this local spot. Shrimp in walnut sauce is delicious! The fried fish is so crisp, I find myself craving this at times. Asian Fortune is one of a few restaurants that are still delivering. It took about 1 hour for an ASAP order, but that's probably to be expected since most restaurants are closed. The "chicken sticks", strangely, had a different sauce on them this time. Still good, but inconsistent. Hunan chicken: fine. The rice was somewhat mushy, but not too bad. Not quite as good as my last order, but I'm grading on a curve, and this is a lot better than canned beans and ramen. read more
