This place caught my eye as I was simply heading home from a steady gym workout so I figured I'd go here for a post workout meal of sorts. The setting inside definitely has an Asian feel to it, from the antiquity aestethic to the dim lighting of the place giving a feel of ease. I ordered my food and it came around in good enough time. I just stuck with something basic, the Chicken Katsu lunch special which came with rice, California rolls and my choice of ginger ale. The Chicken Katsu was pretty good. Breading on it could be a bit more firm with a bit of crunch, it was very light on batter but didn't take away from the meal as a whole. Rice had good texture and the California rolls were decent. Not overly the best Japanese food I had, but for what is worth, satisfying and didn't cost me much. Service was a bit on the lax side, but I don't mind it. I appreciate the waiters checking on me to see if I'm enjoying my food and it's appreciated, but at the same time, I also prefer just having the time and peace to eat so no complaints, after all the waitress was not too far when I did need her. read more

The prices here are reasonable and the space is ample. They're offering a half-off beer deal that's a steal. I'm a ramen aficionado. My ramen standards are pretty high. The bowl was okay. Waiting for leftovers to cool down while I write this. Ohhhhhh hey Rego Park! It's been a minute since we have had dinner. And this Asian fusion spot stands up among others in Queens Blvd. First it was super cute since. Big leather booths, with dim lighting. The menu went on for day and was pretty intimidating. They had katsu and curry which I almost went for but the spicy coconut noodles were calling my name. I am getting ahead of myself. That was the main event. Before that we had rock shrimp, which were HUGE. The spicy mayo made my nose run. I wasn't made about it. The star of the night was the dinosaur egg appetizer. Spicy tuna and salmon hugged by avocado and surrounded by shaved carrot. This literary was the best of the night. We got the Pacific roll, and although good it did not live up to our massive dinosaur egg that exceeded our expectations. Shout out to the servers for not rushing us out. Also the bathroom was solid! This is a newer restaurant that I decided to try out. It was honestly a very positive experience. Being brand new, the place has a very hip and modern decor. Their menu is also far more extensive than their name indicates. This place is not just Japanese food. They also serve Thai food and Chinese food. We tried a few dishes from here and were satisfied with the quality. The bento box was huge, with a lot of protein given. Their Thai food was solid too, and was rich in flavor. The food is not 100% authentic. It is actually one of those Chinese-run fusion places, but the quality is still good. And the lunch special prices are super cheap. Fast food prices but for a hip sit down restaurant. $10 for Chinese, $12 for Thai, or $15-$18 for the bento box. read more

Balanced between 2 worlds. It's flavorful enough to satisfied our asian taste buds but not overpowered like old schools foods so it's suitable for people of all ethic background. Ie - duck salad included avocado which normally are not in thai duck salad but somehow they make it work really well. tonkatsu Ramen is tasty and delicious and as good as ramen specialized restaurant like kyuramen. My favorite is Thai pepper stake. When they brought out , you smell aroma of spiciness, I thought it's gonna be spicy and hot. It wasn't and it was pleasantly delicious. Just right amount of kick and sweetness. The service is really well. the young lady named Muu took care of us and she was very polite and caring. Excellent service. Stopped by Omakase Ramen for lunch and tried the spicy basil with chicken (added miso soup separately). My friend got the sea bass bento box, which came with shumai, miso soup, rice, and steamed broccoli. Portions were small and not very satisfying. The Thai iced tea tasted off that my friend stated she wouldn't order it again. Fried ice cream was the best part, but even that took a while to come out. It seems like a family-run spot, with even kids helping out. I remember this place being something else before. Wanted to try this new spot by me. The inside is nice and I really enjoy the large booths. The music in the restaurant kept turning off and on and skipping. It definitely took away from the dining experience. The food took a long time to get out. There was only 1 waitress working. Took 25 minutes for our ramen to come out. I got the shoyu ramen. The ramen was okay. Nothing special and tasted very generic. The spicy miso broth tasted like Chinese chili oil on top. I also got a salmon maki hand roll. This was actually really great. There was a lot of salmon in the roll. I also asked for a bubble tea but they didn't have normal black tea I guess. They gave me a vanilla one, which I returned. At the end of the meal, we got oranges that were cut up. This was a nice surprise and great ending to the meal. Overall I would come back just for the hand rolls. This Asian Fusion sushi restaurant is now checked and removed from my Yelp bookmark to go list. Following a hair salon of a extremely past due appointment in Forest Hills, I walked for health reasons to Rego Park which was a very long arduous walk. And just like that the recent four day summer's heat wave that plagued and gripped New York City which became hotter than California's Death Valley is over. The first weekend of August 2025 was beautifully comfortably comfortable with the sun beaming the Earth. At long last. I entered as the power of one and was immediately seated by a child who is possibly the owner's or the waitress including who served my entrée, removal of plate and menu. She neither complained nor spoke a lot, but worked diligently. She reminisce of my younger self as a child - especially as a young teenager whom I was very quiet and I won my junior high school superlative for quiet. Omakase お任せ is "I'll leave it up to you" in Japanese, used when ordering food in restaurants for chef's choice. This is a modern restaurant with large diner- like booths. This same child also removed my finished plate upon exiting which I did leave a 18% gratuity. The restaurant claim check/ bill does not have the gratuity calculation intervals of 18%, 20%, or 22% printed at the bottom, but I have my trusty tip calculator mobile application. Price is slightly higher but expected to align with 2025 era for inflation. Takeout menu are available for grabs. The music was not interesting. I choose the sushi lunch special for $23.00. Five pieces of sushi and one California roll which is accompanied with either miso soup or soda. I chosen miso soup, but there were minimal seaweed embedded and the broth was good consistency for non-saltiness. The amount of sushi and one roll was just right for one adult person. I certainty did not need a gargantuan sushi boat. Portion control for one adult person was surely on point to eat my fill. There were pieces of cut green Jalapeno were embedded in my entrée which I do not want. The special is very weird without the industry standard "soup or salad" appetizer/ side dish for a traditional Japanese meal. The soda does not entice my interest. Our most recent visit was for my son's birthday, and the chef remembered my parents and recommended a delicious, refreshing salad, perfect for the summer.
