Recently I was @ MOCA and then pretty much the very next day they closed to my & many folks chagrin. THANKFULLY they reopened! I went last night with friends on a Monday night and the place was festive & packed! They had a party in their biggest private room. This room has a karaoke machine and the minimum tab is $1k. Doesn't matter how many folks fill that room or not. They do have two smaller rooms that can be made into one for me area enough for 20folks without a minimum. Anyways just glad they reopened because ambiance is beautiful in there. This time I got the scallops and it was delicious. My friends got the fried rice, pad Thai and chirashi. We shared a sashimi salad and eggplant. Everything was yummy imho.
This Asian Fusion Bristo is located in Forest Hills, NY in the borough of Queens where street parking can be difficult to find, However, there is a parking garage (Red Ball Garage) around the corner that will give a discount if you tell them that you are dining at the Moca Asian Brito, just hold on to your receipt and submit it to the garage attendant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I adore the lux lightening as the yellow illumination presented a cozy atmosphere all the while associating the ambiance with happiness, warmth, and energy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I arrived first and the staff was welcoming, informative, and kind enough to offer me to sit at the bar. The staff were very attentive, and kept checking to see if I was in need of anything as I sat alone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]MoCA Asian appears to be a preferred place for a meet and greet, lunch meeting or lunch date, or for a business dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So, of course I was there for a special meet up, and for the oysters, but they only served raw oyster on the half shell, I could not consume them at the time so I ordered General Tso's Chicken it was pretty much the same taste that you would expect from restaurant that has this on the menu. I will come again for a dinner setting and see the night life.

It's dimly lit in here but not too dark. The ambiance is fitting for both a romantic or casual dinner. The service was really good and friendly. Pasang S was our server. The cocktails were good and fairly priced (average around $20). Everyone had multiple rounds of their drinks. What we had: Lychee martini: 5/5 Sidecar cocktail: 4/5 Pinot Grigio: 5/5 Pinot noir: 5/5 Our food was good as well. Nothing mind blowing but definitely good and freshly made. What we had: Lobster Tacos: 5/5 Miso soup: 5/5 Japanese Seaweed Salad: 5/5 Seafood Hot & Sour Soup: 4/5 American Dream Roll: 5/5 King Crab Avocado Roll: 5/5 Out of Control Roll: Baja Roll: 4/5 Sweet Heart Roll: 4/5 Oreo Tempura: 5/5 Crème Brûlée: 4/5
I love this place! I've been here a few times and it's a great spot for date night or a girls night. Weekends can get kind of packed so it's best to make a reservation. The menu is a bit overwhelming since there's a lot of options. I've come for dinner a few times and they also have good restaurant week deals. The service is great and the food is delicious with good portions. I love their sushi and it tastes super fresh.
9/21/24. The outside appears quiet but inside there is club/lounge vibe. It was relatively loud and dimly lit. Just fyi. We sat at the bar and the drinks were made well. Bennie, the bartender, was great handling the crowd. The other bartenders... not so much! The kumamoto oysters were pricey but very fresh. Sushi was also fresh but my friend said the uni was not.

I toured the menu ordering for the table. 12 Oysters artistically arranged to start, OMG, A 3 Salmon Sashimi Special Delivering unique styled preparation that differentiated Crunchie, Spicy & Garlic zest. Kani salad, Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Rock Shrimp that did not disappoint, Braised Short Ribs cooked to perfection, Jalapeño Tuna on Cucumber with a delicate house sauce, King Salmon and a California Roll that I cannot compare to. NEVER HAD ONE THAT AMAZEBALLS. Highlight of the meal was the final dish, the Grand Finally, The *Volcano Roll*. Delivered on Fire , elegance sets the standard from the chefs kitchen to our table, I can still envision the taste of the lobster from that roll. Everything was AMAZING. I would return & suggest! My friend and I had lunch here. We were seated fairly quickly after being told to wait a moment. The inside is pretty spacious and nicely decorated. We were given menus and water as soon as we sat down. We ordered two appetizers, Thai crab cake and Thai lollipop chicken wings. The Thai crab cake was unique but it was made with krab meat (fake crab). It was wrapped in tofu skin. I liked it though. The lollipop chicken wings were in spicy chili sauce which wasn't really spicy. They were hot and crispy. My friend got the sashimi lunch special (Lunch is everyday until 3PM) and I got the Thai mango shrimp lunch special. Mine came with miso soup (you can also choose a salad instead) and I selected brown instead of white rice. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and I liked the sauce which was a little spicy and sweet.
I came here for a wedding dinner . The bride rented out a room so we had a private area . The place is cute and the room was cute and intimate . We did set up the room and was provided about a hour and a half prior to the event time to set up . We had multiple appetizers. I tasted the shrimp dumplings and beef kabobs which were banging . For the main entree I had the beef teriyaki and shrimp fried rice which were amazing . There was bottle service so not sure how their drinks from the bar is . Overall will come back .

Everything about this place was excellent. We got watermelon margaritas, and ordered a couple of dishes. Sashimi, beef fried rice, kani salad, duck tortilla, AAC roll, and shishito peppers. Kani salad hit the spot, the roll had the perfect ratio of rice to veggie, duck tortilla was tasty and delicious, and shishito peppers were crispy. Our bartender was also super rad and super friendly. Highly recommend this place for food and drink. Great modern asian vibe. read more

I still left a 20% tip, but it was reluctantly. The server was really disappearing, like no where in site, for 10-15 minutes several times. Had a friend recommend this place and it definitely didn't disappoint because everything we got was so delicious!!! The wonton soup was so yummy and I feel like it could be hard to find a good one sometimes. Service was friendly and the food came out so quick!! read more

Had reservation for dinner to celebrate my birthday. Our server was wonderful and accommodating. The food was well prepared and came out in a timely fashion. The service here was amazing -- our server was nice and funny. The indoor seating is very moody and intimate. They were able to accommodate for my shrimp allergies which randomly pop up sometimes. The Malaysian Fried Rice was absolutely amazing flavor-wise, even without the dried shrimp. We also got the Moca Sushi Dinner, which didn't particularly stand out to me in comparison to the fried rice. read more

Came here during restaurant week with my daughter for my belated bday dinner and really enjoyed it. Ordered from the Prixe Fixe menu and everything was slamming! My fav was the baby beef short ribs, I tried a couple and they are definitely something to rave about! Ended up ordering some of my own to go! As far as service goes, our waitress was informative and attentive. My only issues were with the hostesses, ( 2 high-school teeny boppers) they weren't very friendly or welcoming! They also denied us a booth stating that ALL the booths were reserved, even though we had a reservation (but not for a booth)...in addition, ALL booths remained empty until about 5 mins before we left..they COULD HAVE sat us at a booth! I'll probably dine here again but i'd be sure to "reserve a BOOTH" next time! read more

The decor and Ambiance is just amazing. I'm so mad I haven't been here to eat sooner. The service was good. Took a little long for the server to take our order but that wasn't even a major issue here for me. The food was fresh and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their dish and everyone was satisfied. The server gave great recommendations and I can't wait to eat here again. The price is reasonable. read more

MoCA is beyond elegant & refined! Walk through the doors & you think you are in a posh city spot. Service was on point & the place is just gorgeous. The food & wine were like nothing I've had before. Every single bite was a dream. Came w my bestie on a Saturday nite & were happily seated at a booth right in front of the sushi makers. This is a place to go when you want to impress..yes it will cost you but what's money for if not to be spent on scrumptious places like this. I can't wait to go back! read more

Came here one night just to grab a few small apps and a drink with a friend the atmosphere and lobster tacos is what brought me back here. I called ahead just so that I wouldn't miss the kitchen closing and I got there with 25 minutes to spare. In this time I ordered a Cosmo, my friend got a black label neat and we got a few apps. Of course I couldn't resist but to order the lobster tacos and they were good not as good as I remembered but they were alright. I also got shrimp dumplings pan fried which were also good. My friend got a tuna roll which he picked at and an order or bang shrimp which were alright but also I have had better now Im unsure if the food wasn't that great because we came so late or what however I would try them again at an earlier hour. read more

Came here for happy hour with a friend. It is until 630 and they have $6 sake among other specials including some food specials. I think the food, even during happy hour is a bit overpriced. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super nice and very respectful even letting us know it was last call for happy hour. The food itself was actually great, but again expensive. We tried the gyoza which was really good, a kani salad which was good but had a lot of lettuce and these lettuce cups which were surprisingly flavorful (but only come with 6). Of course this place is a bit more upscale which justifies the price a little bit. There is an alexa show every three seats at the bar! I think there is live music on Tuesday nights as well. Honestly, would come back again, but of cheaper options there are a few other places that I would look at. But the service honestly cannot be beat, at least at the bar. read more
