One of my friends highly recommended this place for authentic chè drinks, so I decided to give it a try. I had never heard of chè before, and it seems like it is not easy to find a spot that serves authentic versions in the Seattle area. The store is located in the same complex as Ranch 99, which makes parking very convenient since there are plenty of free spaces available. There were a few people ahead of us in line, and it took us some time to decide what to order. My friend suggested either #1 Bambu Special or #2 Bambu Combo, and specifically advised not to get a boba drink here. I chose the #1 Bambu Special since it was listed as one of their top-selling drinks and had fewer calories than the #2 Bambu Combo. I selected the regular sweetness level to get a more authentic taste of chè. The drink came out quickly, but after taking a sip, I was not quite sure what I was drinking. It had large chunks of ice, floating basil seeds, pandan jelly, longan, and coconut. Tbh, it was very disappointing. The drink was not cheap. It cost $8.50 before sales tax and tip, bringing the total close to $10. Is it worth driving all the way to Edmonds and paying almost $10 for this drink at Bambu? Personally, I don't think so. There are only about five small tables, so it is not the kind of place where you would want to sit and hang out, either. I feel like I could find a better drink and better experience somewhere in Bellevue or Seattle for a similar price.

Variety of drinks but I always get the Jasmine Sea Salt tea since it comes with pudding and I love the sea salt on top. My go to but I do want to try other stuff on their menu!! Their smoothies look good!! It's a small shop and the service is pretty fast. Nice to come here after grocery shopping next door.

Lots of vegan options to choose from here. We got a Thai iced tea, a Che thing and a mangonada. All three things were pretty good and unique! I like that they have a policy to remake anything you don't like. They use quality ingredients. Definitely will try more stuff here.

Love the fruit addict here! There are loads of fruits in this drink. I ordered no-sugar option, but 25% sugar tasted better. They had loads of vegan drink options which is absolutely amazing. The ingredient list includes the following - Lychee, longan, jackfruit, palm seed, red tapioca, agar-agar jello, pandan jelly, coconut & coconut milk. All the fruits tasted delicious. Agar-agar jello was the only one that I didn't like so much and would have totally replaced with jackfruit or longan. Overall a great place to explore Vietnamese dessert and I am going to return here to try out the waffles and the rest of the drinks in the menu.

They have the best smoothie and boba consistency and that's important for the taste buds. Service is always fast and efficient! Price is fairly reasonable! Their avocado smoothie is top tier for me.

This is my go to place for che! Parking was easy there is a big lot for free, and no wait at all when ordering. I got the bamboo favorite, and it was not too sweet, jelly was fresh, and great taste overall. For the price, the portion is big, two people can definitely share it. The service was kind and fast, and there is a couple of tables inside for seating.

I came to Bambū Dessert & Drinks for the first time this evening, Monday 15 May 2023, with my eye on trying a pandan waffle for the first time. The shared parking lot had spots available and I made my way to the store eagerly. Placing my order I decided I wanted to try a pandan waffle with durian. The worker asked if I had eaten durian before, which I had not, so she had me try a sample to make sure I was okay with it in the waffle. I was pleasantly surprised and kept my order the same. The wait was maybe about five minutes, the prices were $5.95 for the waffle and $2.50 for the durian pre-tax. With tax the total was $9.33 and I paid with a ten dollar bill, tipping my change. The durian came baked into the green pandan waffle. It had a texture that looked a bit liked mashed up bamboo shoots and a sweet flavor. My palate taste buds danced in a way that reminded me of trying lychee for the first time. The pandan waffle was texturally more on the chewy side and the waffle itself was cooked to a golden crispy perfection. I enjoyed the durian inclusion in the waffle, the sweet meaty flesh of the fruit paired well with the chewy and not as sweet flavor of the waffle.

In terms of shaved ice it is pretty good but boba was mediocre. It is in a really convenient spot sandwiched in between Ranch 99 and T&T

Honestly, you don't come here focused on their drinks since they specialize in che, but their drinks are not half bad. For a place that is most focused on the che and Vietnamese dessert, the boba was really chewy and actually had sweetness. It was flavorful and the tea was fine as well. Out of 10 the drinks were a 7 for me. It only helps more that they have such a wide selection of items to pick from (though usually more is usually spread out so items are lower quality, I don't think it's the case here). I haven't had the snow ice here, but at another location. I'm sure it's similar. Akin to bingsoo, it's more shaved ice (actual ice instead of shaved milk), but the flavor you pick will be very apparent from their syrup mix. You won't just be eating straight shaved ice that tastes like water, which I appreciate.

Super fun stop while grocery shopping in North Seattle! I had the durian smoothie with Boba, and it was such a treat. It's super rare to find in any Boba shop. They do spealize in Vietnamese desserts, which I'll be sure to try next time. Prices are reasonable, and the staff was courteous and prompt. They did have boxes in the dining room I had to go around to find my seat. Must stop!

They're all a bit older so be patient when it's busy. I had seen their banh canh cua all over IG so I was curious since I wanted to see how it differs from the one I make at home. My friend and I came for lunch and the bowl was huge. I was hoping to get crab in the shell but didn't mind the de shelled meat instead. The broth is thick but light. I thought it was going to be sweet but was so pleasantly surprised it wasn't. Lots of yummy goodness. They make the noodles in house and I can tell because the cuts were uneven. Though it was on the softer side than what I normally liked, it was still a good bowl of noodle soup. I would have preferred the noodles to be a bit chewier but I also know how tedious it is to make fresh if they're doing all of that per bowl. There was "rieu" which is the crab mixture and I really like the flavor that has. It came with fried donuts to dipped and I loved that! We usually only eat the fried donut with chao so for me personally it was a nice treat. I left pretty full and happy. My friends sat there for an hour after eating just yapping away and I'm glad they didn't kick us out haha. They just cleaned around us and sat there enjoying their lunch. I will probably bring my mom and siblings here to try out other dishes! I will say, if you like things spicier I'd recommend bringing your own chili peppers haha. I drowned my bowl in their chili oil and sriracha and it wasn't spicy at all.

I hadn't eaten here In years and my wife never. They used to give a nice refreshing lychee water drink with a long dessert spoon for the fruit which I remember loving long ago. Many other tables had them but we were never offered it as service was brisk yet not very friendly. I ordered a Dac Biet pho (my regular choice) but they don't have tripe??? I usually pass on pho restaurants that don't serve tripe and tendon. I was at best average but honestly not near the best I've ever had in the US or Vietnam. At almost $20 for a bowl I wasn't impressed enough to say "let's go back". My wife ordered the pork vermicelli bowl (her usual). She liked it ok and I tried a bit. Again pretty tasty and in my opinion a better dish than their pho, but not worthy of returning over other choices. Overall if you are comfortable parking in a tight little parking lot to eat average food in a little old building it's not a bad choice. But I would not purposefully go back even though we shop often at Costco and Home Depot nearby.

It has that hole-in-the-wall feel off Aurora, but honestly, this is some of the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. I am Vietnamese myself, and I have been looking for months, really years, for a Vietnamese restaurant in the Seattle area that actually feels worth coming back to. A lot of places have been average, or they have dishes like bún riêu or bún bò Huế on the menu but do not really do them well. Lotus Pond does. I tried the bún riêu and the bò né with steak and sizzling eggs, and both were delicious. My friend got the seafood pho and loved it too. Everything tasted like someone actually cared about the food, and I really appreciated seeing menu items that you usually have to search far and wide for, or go somewhere like Orange County or Houston to find done properly. Fast forward a year later to a Sunday at 12:30pm and I finally made the long drive here without going through Aurora Ave since my GPS randomly decided to give my road rage some grace. This place has plenty parking around the perimeter, so it was easy settling in. Only confusion was finding the entrance to this place, but when I did I was actually surprised where I was stepping into. Inside is laid back and cool with plenty of seating for groups of various sizes. There's tables and booths, and I got booth seating for myself when I walked in. There's a TV playing sports nearby where I was, and Vietnamese pop music was playing in the background too. Menu consists of regular foods in most Vietnamese restaurants, though their provincial noodle soups and banh mi sandwiches caught my eye. They even have bún măng vịt (duck and bamboo shoot noodle soup), my favorite that I gotta try next time I come here! From my IG feeds and as a starting point, I got their bánh mì thịt heo nướng (grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich), which comes with all the works of a regular banh mi sandwich, though I was kinda surprised how brightly orange the grilled pork was. Regardless, it was tasty and the meat was juicy. The pork pate added a nice savory touch to the sandwich, and no other condiment was in excess that it took away taste from the flavorful grilled pork. Staff was very kind throughout, and refilled my water every now and then. It was also nice chatting with one of them about our day and other recommendations from the menu. There's so much to have on their menu so I need to make the drive here again to have more of their stuff!
