They made them fast too like within 5 min of ordering. The bread is crispy and yummy, the pork is flavorful, jalapeños spicy, and the vegetables were fresh. All and all a great sandwich. Inside seemed busy, but the atmosphere feels akin to the inside of a gas station store more than a sit down place where you'd want to stick around. I used to go to Yeh Yeh's all the time because it used to be the best banh mi I've ever had, but lately, I feel like the quality/taste has changed. Based on the price and what you get, this place is 5 stars. Before you go, understand this is not a "5 star" restaraunt. It was close, I almost gave this place 4 star due to the cleanliness of everything besides the food and utensils. The food is pretty good, not great, but plenty good enough to come back and recommend to others. The ingredients they use are very simple, but very fresh delicious. The service is also so so. I wanted a drink, but the drink selection was very limited to maybe 3 different kinds of tea. But remember, this place is cheap cheap, and I srill got just as good of service as some places that charge high mandatory gratuity. I wish we had a cheap and simple place like this a bit closer to home for those days where I just want a simple and tasty lunch with the whole family that doesnt cost an arm an a leg. I came here after a morning out on the water near Edmonds and stopped here for lunch. The inside of the restaurant is a bit small and run down but the food is amazing. This is definitely a hole in the wall place but there was a line the whole time I dined here. I got the Hu Tieu Mi and it was delicious. It was a bit unexpected because there were two types of noodles in the dish (egg noodles and rice noodles) when I thought the dish was only going to have egg noodles. I also had a bite of my husband's banh mi and it was delicious --even more delicious considering the price!! So I've heard great things about this little hole in the wall and today was the day to try it out. So on my menu I ordered the spring rolls the brisket sandwich and the Asian pork sandwich with a Vietnamese coffee iced. The Asian pork was ok probably won't order again it lacked the flavor of Asian pork. Brisket was juicy and flavorful the bread is spot on large portions. Coffee is strong enough to keep you going all day and the spring rolls are a meal on their own with the best peanut sauce I've ever had. Soups are huge so going to try that next time for sure. I've been to Yeh Yeh's over 40 times, sometimes for dine-in but mostly for take-out. This review is for their Pho, specifically their steak pho. Their broth is the best in the area. It's clean, flavorful and rich. They are so consistent with their broth and noodles. If you dine in you need to be prepared for an average restaurant setting with limited parking. Ignore the older tables and focus on the Pho and you'll be happy. If you take your Pho Tai to go, you'll be impressed by the quality of the thinly sliced meat and their delicious broth. The pickled daikon and carrots were not that pickled, which was good because there was so much of it. There were a few slices of the cold cuts and that was it. So disappointing. Again, the pictures show how little and unvaried the cold cuts were. Just some of the white deli meat and some of the ham that has the red coloring. That's it. I will gladly drive or take light rail to the International District (Saigon Deli) or Hillman City (Nissi Banh - their Nissi special banh mi is the best rn) for a **real ** banh mi. I expected more. It's decent. But it's kind of average. And the place is hard to find. I certainly do not think it's the area's best Banh Mi by a long shot. So they use a slightly different bread, you say. Okay, but it was nothing to write home about. And the sandwich was very average. I certainly would never make another special trip here to get one. The phở I saw at several tables came in HUGE bowls. But everything was already in the bowl. Everything. And they did not have much meat. Not sure on noodles as I could not see that far into the bowl with all the accoutrements were piled on top already. And the location? Well, good luck. It's too bad the hole-in-the-wall exterior look doesn't translate into one of those hole-in-the-wall culinary ecstasy food experiences. But it does not. Not going to make a trip here again. And I'd probably hit one of the many other Vietnamese places within a quick drive distance instead of returning here if I were in the area again. Just the meat and vegetables LOL. There wasn't anything else. The bread itself wad delicious! The butteriness with the grilled pork made it soooo good. And it didn't hurt the roof of my mouth! At last, finally got to try the famous banh mi I've heard so much about. It is located in a plaza that's easy to pass by if you're not looking for it, no frills type of place, that's how you know it's authentic. There's a variety of different banh mi from your standards to a twist like philly, brisket, pastrami, salmon, and shrimp. There's also a few basic Vietnamese entree like pho, beef stew, and vermicelli bowls, but most likely you're coming in for a banh mi. The best banh mi in Snohomish county. This place is behind a used tire shop and a farmer's market, the parking lot is a pain to get into, and they're only open 'til 6. Yup, sounds like a prototypical hidden gem to me! First of all, the banh mi is pretty perfect. Its not gonna be piled high with meat, if that's what you're hoping for, order double meat. But the meat has a ton of flavor. The banh mi is well balanced, on fresh baked french bread (they also own a bakery, where the bread comes from.) They put lots of jalapeno on it, so if that's too spicy for you, ask to order without. And the prices are very reasonable, you're not gonna pay more than 8 bucks for a sandwich. I love both the grilled beef and pork. I've heard good things about the pastrami, but haven't tried it yet. I've also tried the beef stew, the pho, and the bubble tea. They're all pretty good! I would say the pho and the bubble tea are nothing to write home about compared to your favorite spot, but they're solid, and I'd definitely order it again if I was there and that's what I was craving. The beef stew was loaded with beef! It was good and it comes with a french bread to dip it in. There was so much beef, I soaked up all of the stew with my bread and was left with beef and carrots in my bowl. If you like hearty, their beef stew provides.
