Overall, the drinks were pretty tasty and satisfying. Service was a bit slow since it seemed like only one person was handling both the front and back, but it was understandable. Service is slow because they only have one person working but at least they are super nice and apologetic about the wait. There are some outlets along the wall too so it's good for a recharge. When I arrived, there was a short line but it was clear they were being swamped with phone orders and in person orders. (It was a very hot day.) I stood by the cashier a good 5 minutes before I was told to order at the kiosk by the 1 staff that took the previous customer's order at the cashier who then went off attending the waffle maker and other orders. There was no one stationed at the cashier and more customers came in and I had to tell them to use the kiosk otherwise who knows how long they would be waiting. Bambu is the only shop in SF that offers a variety of Che combos. It's perfect on a hot day. Prices are fair. A scoop of ice cream is only $1 to add in. My daughter raved about Bambu in Stonestown, so she had to try this one on Geary Blvd... On a warm day, it felt familiar like we were transported into a city in Asia. Ordered a Mangonada and a sort of Vietnamese Coffee Slushy thing. The Coffee came with shredded, probably blended with the drink, pieces of aluminum wrapper in the drink. I didn't notice it until I had drank a bit of the drink. My stomach started to feel a little upset and upon looking at the drink more there is very many pieces of wrapper in the drink itself. The most important thing to me was that this place, this delightful delicious unicorn, offers pandan waffles, my greatest love! And there aren't many places that do (I have found; please direct me to them all!!). Hot, tasty, perfectly crunchy/chewy pandan waffles. Well, they only have one waffle maker and they are made to order, which takes some time. So maybe pandan waffle singular unless you love them as much as I do! I also had a tasty drink, and got great advice when I was having trouble deciding on that part. So many drinks to choose from! I am not an expert on these so I can't compare but...it was delicious and perfectly sweet at 25%. They were out of coconut pudding (around 5 pmish) when I visited so I still need to try that. First, their kiosk ordering system was messed up so they were not receiving the orders and blaming the customers for clicking the wrong button. Finally got to try this place after years and years of walking past it. Got the Bambu Combo (#2?) and service was REALLY fast. Lots of delicious shaved ice on top along with the different colored jellies and beans. Ambiance is...kind of like a hole in a wall. I enjoy coming to Bambu when I lived in Alameda and now in the Richmond district. I had their pandan waffle for lunch. I got the 10% off discount by showing them the Richmond SELF neighborhood card. It was only $5.85. So crunchy and yummy. It looks like they use mochi powder in their waffle mix. I'm planning to come back next time to try their taro waffle. Their Vietnamese drinks are also very yummy and filled with toppings. I definitely prefer Bambu more than 7 Leaves. I wonder if it's Vietnamese owned though since the waitress spoke Mandarin instead of Vietnamese. They also participate in the Five Stars program to accumulate loyalty points.
