I really enjoyed my time visiting Milktopia! I've always seen it but this was my first time going in. I was really hoping for a regular matcha but after talking to who I think the owner is, I decided on the strawberry crema. I went to another bubble tea shop close by and I won't name names, but they were not very nice. Walking into Milktopia & having the person working/or owner (not sure who it was) but she was a very very sweet lady and explained what the crema was to me. She was very kind and that is what I really appreciate and sold me on this place. Not only that but the drink was fantastic!!! So glad I listened to her. Great desserts, but be aware that if you order a soft-serve sundae, they do not fill the entire cup -- they just fill around the outside, leaving the center empty, so that it looks like a full container. You may be okay with that, but it seems disingenuous / deceptive to me. What if you bought a milkshake, and there was a big empty bubble of nothing right in the middle? I thought it was a mistake at first, but I went back the other day and it happened again. So it's pretty much on purpose. read more

What did I just pay for?! I paid over $8 for a tiny shake and it was disgusting. I was already in shock when they handed me the small drink. For $7-8 (including a 4% surcharge and tip), you'd think you would get a large sized drink? That thing was tinier than ever! After dining at the nearby Happy Family Chinese restaurant for lunch, we were looking for dessert. Milktopia was such a great find! It's a little different from most boba restaurants in that they offer soft serve. The vanilla ice cream soft serve with boba was good. The boba had an excellent texture. Cooked all the way through, soft, bouncy, good size-not too small, and nicely chewy. I've never seen a boba filled puff waffle before and had to have it. I haven't ordered a puff waffle in a while. Milktopia's waffle was unexpectedly nice and chewy, not dry like other puff waffles I've tried previously. The boba was great. The boba are unevenly spread out of course, so it becomes a fun surprise when you get a puff filled with a lot of them. The waffle and the ice cream went well together. The employee was nice. He had about ten drinks to make after us, so the wait will vary. If you pay with a credit card then there's an extra fee, so I paid with cash. There's some metered street parking and some neighborhood spots, but it's one of the neighborhoods where a lot of spots are too small except for fiats fyi. Needed a caffeine fix and kiddo wanted to try this place. Quite a long list of items to choose from, and glad they noted their best sellers. So, we decided on the Oolong Crema and Yin Yang Oolong. The crema comes with Oolong tea jelly and I added it to the Yin Yang drinks as well. For me, 25% sweetness was perfect - just enough sweetness. His piña colada had a good amount of flavor & even though it was icy instead of creamy, it didn't taste watered down. $13.50 for two drinks. When I needed to find something to drink, I found the store I found out their ice cream is from California farms so I decided to order the Oreo Choco cream puff and mango sago. I always go to different stores to try out their mango sago but this one in particular is very good. It's it is in my top five favorite mango Sagos. I don't think anybody is asking the question except me, but by slapping "topia" onto the name, the owner is saying that milk is the be-all of everything sold in this shop. BEST EGG WAFFLES EVERRRRRRRR I got the oreo one and it was perfectly crisp (as long as you eat them right away). I've had my fair share of egg waffles around the Bay Area and I have to say this one takes the cake (or the waffle?). Omggggg so yummm I wanna try others. If I'm not mistaken, it may have been the old Supercue location (RIP). Welcome to the neighborhood Milktopia! I've seen several places come and go at this location, but I do think you have potential! The worker mentioned they're quite new, having only had their soft opening last weekend. They had to message their boss and confirm whether they accept American Express (I didn't have enough cash on me) and good news, they do! Shop is small but clean. Menu is also limited, but you have options in both boba and soft serve. I doubt they make their soft serve with Strauss (y'all should consider that ::hint hint::), but they didn't look bad at all. I got myself a paradise island fruit tea, light on the ice and normal on sugar for $6.50 + tax which came out to $7-something - a little steep for me, but oh well. Great flavor in the tea and refreshing on a summer day, especially when you were disappointed with your previous attempt at boba (see my review on Foam Teahouse). My only suggestion is to brew some stronger tea and it would have been perfect. The notes of jasmine in the green tea would have paired wonderfully with the apple, mango, passion fruit, orange, and lime, but unfortunately, the tea wasn't coming through in the drink.
