Nice neighborhood boba spot on Taraval. I went here a couple years ago at their location across the street. They just opened this new location where rolling out cafe used to be. It's spacious and great for small groups to get a table and sit at and relax. I ordered a 30% sweet Hong Kong milk tea with grass jelly and popcorn chicken. The tea wasn't too bad, I usually get around 30% or less sweetness level drinks. I think I should have gotten 50% for this one because it would have tasted better if it were just a tad sweeter but that just comes down to preference. The chicken was almost $10 after tax. Good sized portion though. The chicken was pretty salty. Overall a good list of drinks and looking forward to coming back to try more things. read more

I've been to this place a handful of times. They close early, so it's hard for me to visit regularly. Many times it after I eat pho next door and I'm too late. It's been unusually warm and I was able to stop by for early afternoon refreshment. I was surprised to see that they offer sugar cane juice--perfect drink for a hot Indian summer day. I ordered the passionfruit sugarcane juice and it was very refreshing, naturally sweet--no added sugars. It's a small shop with limited seating, but it's nice that they offer seating. The person behind the counter was super friendly. You can order on the kiosk, if paying by card or at the counter if by cash. They are also located up the block from Sarang Hello and across the street from the post office. If want refreshments/snacks after errands, it's a great place to take a break. Craving popcorn chicken and there aren't too many places we know that make them nowadays in our neighborhood. After a quick search, hubs suggested trying Foam Tea House. Small place, but there were a couple of tables and seating along the window. We ordered at the kiosk - roasted oolong milk tea w/ grass jelly, Thai tea, popcorn chicken and fries. Drinks came out quickly. I ordered the roasted oolong with 30% sugar and less ice. I tend to like my teas strong, and this was a little weak for me. Hubs ordered the Thai tea, which was good. Faves were the snacks as they were made to order and came out hot and crispy. Popcorn chicken was crispy and perfect amount of saltiness. Fries were also hot, and I enjoyed them with the Sriracha ketchup. Hubs and I agreed that we'd each order our own fries and popcorn chicken next time. They have a self order kiosk available which was slightly confusing to use because you couldn't see exactly which section of the menu belonged to which drink . One of my besties and I were in the mood for our boba fix this past weekend. Since both of us prefer dairy alternatives, thankfully Foam offers their milk teas with Almond Milk. Both of us ordered a Matcha Milk Tea with boba in Almond Milk. Our orders were ready within 2 minutes. They give generous portions of matcha that it covered at least half of our drink. The matcha flavor was not too overpowering and it blended well with the almond milk tea's sweetness. The boba was perfectly chewy, sweet and not tough. The ambiance was impressive because of their printed cup event dedicated to Jihyo's solo release. As a Once (Twice stan), I was truly fond of the posters and the provided cups and photocards. Foam frequently collaborates with Saranghello for any cupsleeve or printed cup events. Did you know you can get your image on the foam tea here? That's the best thing about this place. Average drinks with slow service, even when empty. I'm not sure why they always get my order wrong. I wanted to try this place after passing by it so many times and I finally got the chance to recently. I got the lychee oolong tea, which was really good. Their menu has a ton of options to choose from, including plenty of brewed tea, which I typically go for. They also have a lot of food options, which I was tempted to order, but I had to save room for dinner, so I didn't get any food. However, all of their options look really good, so I'd like to try them next time. The drink was great. I added aloe vera as a topping and it was awesome. The only downside to this place is that it is quite pricey. I believe the drink was $7-8 which is quite expensive in my opinion. The size of the cup isn't that big either, so I think for the amount you're getting, it is a bit overpriced. The ordering process is also on a kiosk, so I can't really judge customer service on this one. However, I would consider going back if I'm around the area because the drink was good. read more

Came in around 7pm on a Friday night and it wasn't busy. The place is pretty small with a few seats. The walls are cutely decorated with boba inspired artwork. You order and pay on a large standing screen. There is a small service fee. Parking is pretty easy as well. There are many drink options there as well as a good variety of small snacks (rice rolls, popcorn chicken, etc.). I ordered the original milk tea (80% sweet, no boba) as well as the cantaloupe sago drink (50% sweet). I loved the sago drink! It reminds me of Hong Kong dessert cafes and wasn't too sweet. Milk tea is pretty standard, and I was charged extra for getting no ice. The flavor is fairly milky. The man making the drinks was very nice, and the drinks came out very quickly. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not as sweet as I'm used to. The girls at the counter were friendly and helpful with clarifying drinks. They mentioned that the mango green tea is one of their popular items so I ordered that for bae - tea was strong, but lacked in mango flavor. I asked if the Oreo frap was essentially an Oreo milkshake and they said yes. I didn't think you could go wrong with that, but I guess there's a first for everything. If you took a handful of Oreo cookies and blended them with ice only, you'd get the Oreo frappucino from Foam. Just crushed up ice with cookie bits. I couldn't tell you if there was milk or anything else, but it was horrendous and a mistake that I wish I could take back. I stopped after 2 sips and brought it home so that I could pour in some milk and salvage whatever was left. I want for an event that was hosted at this location we were really excited for the experience and the drinks! We all ordered a tiger milk tea, the place looked amazing but very small for the amount of people that attended this event. once we got our drinks it looked yummy, not shortly after we started drinking it we noticed how all of our drinks tasted different despite being the same drink we kinda brushed it off but later on felt very sick. I'm not sure if it was because they were rushing because of the event or what but that caused us to get poorly made drinks and to get sick, even a day after the event we still feel sick. Note: tapioca pearls had odd texture as if it was sitting out a day or night prior to the event. After mixing our drinks it wasn't sweet more bitter despite being 100% sweet and after taking a sip of it I got a huge chunk of hardened sugar//syrup. Hope this issue gets fixed or other peoples experiences were better but sadly mine and my friends wasn't the best. read more

I came to Foam Tea House because the sago/coconut milk drinks looked amazing. Foam is one of the places that has this so it definitely is a place to try so I ordered the cantaloupe sago and also a taro milk tea. The cantaloupe sago looked nice - you have the bottom part consisting of coconut milk and sago and the top part containing cantaloupe fruit and slush. Overall the drink itself was watery. There wasn't much flavor and the cantaloupe was not ripe at all. The taro milk tea uses powder and I've come across places that use real taro. The owner (?) was very adamant that taro milk tea always uses powder so that was kind of off-putting to be scolded at. The taro milk teal from Foam was okay BUT it was watery. Tapioca Express does it better than Foam for this drink. Overall, the drinks were watery and not worth coming for. read more
