First time to this location, mid rivers mall Dr and 364. This one is different, it's called Bandans's Express. You do counter service and they bring the food out to you. I have not seen this at any of the other locations in the St. Louis Metro area. Ordered chicken and ribs, we also got corn, green beans and bbq beans. The meat was juicy, cooked perfect, very flavorful. All the sides were tasty. A couple could-be-better things; we were there in the middle of the afternoon, there were only two other families in there. None of the tables had been wiped off from previous diners so all the tables were dirty . Second, there is only four sauces to choose from, they do not carry all the types of sauces that the full-service restaurants have. read more

Consistency is key! You always know what you are going to get at Bandanna's and it's consistently good. Tonight they had a sign up that said they were out of chicken, turkey, and brisket but that's OK I wanted those ribs! I really wanted the combo of ribs and chicken thighs but, oh well. Their green beans clearly come from a can but they had some kind of a spice and some onions so they are delicious and their coleslaw is always creamy and iced cold, which I appreciate. Big open space and very clean, but again felt like I was in a chain restaurant which I'm not a big fan of. Food: ordered the combo; 2 meats, 2 sides. Chose burnt ends and ¼ chicken. Burnt ends were a little too burnt/dry. Chicken wasn't cooked enough. Not raw, just seemed boiled instead of rotisserie. This location always knocks it out of the park. There is such a difference in this location versus other locations that it made me look up the business model of Bandana's. And so props to THIS location's management (edit: from franchise owner) who cares about quality, freshness, and cleanliness! It's worth the diverting away from the "other" St. Peter's location. Requested bone-out chicken, baked potato, side salad, comes with garlic bread. Perfect amount for a normal person, delicious, and priced right considering rising costs. My Marine, on the other hand, ordered A POUND of pulled pork, a triple serving of coleslaw, and fries. I honestly don't know where he puts it. We've come here the last 3 years to watch the Super Bowl, not because they have a watch event, but because they don't. It's quiet, not crowded, great service, and cold beer. Love bandanas a great place to eat for some good barbecue. The place is over all a nice place good barbecue environment. Ordered some good food tasted great. The service on the other hand was another story. We arrived and the restaurant was 3/4 empty but when they sat us down they sat everyone right next to each other. There was no space between guests even though there was lot of room that they could have put a table in between each guest. Instead we had to hear the conversation of the table next to us which is rather annoying. This isn't the only time this has happened it always seems to happen. One thing if the place was full then it can't be helped but there were only 3 tables that had guests on them. So we asked to move to the next one to give us space which they allowed it. So we moved but after that the waitress turned off the niceness and was a bit short in the ways she talked to us and served us. We still loved the food and we will go back again. Great place for decent BBQ Saint Louis is a BBQ town (including the suburbs too) and if you are looking for award winning amazingly good slap yo mama bbq then there are a lot of other places in STL you should probably go. However, if you are looking for a causal place to get a decent meal of good bbq and good sides Bandanas is the place. I wouldn't drive hours to eat at Bandanas, and I don't. We live close by so it's an easy place to grab lunch or a nice dinner. The ribs and sausage are my favorite, and the pulled pork is good too. I don't care for the brisket (more of a pot roast flavor than smoke). The boiled peanuts are good and the brunswick stew is hit and miss as sometimes the potatoes and other vegetables aren't cooked all the way. Also, you can request to not get the two pieces of garlic bread and get an extra side instead. Definitely this place is good, but award winning and worth a long drive it ain't. I like it, but expand your horizons and try some other places in STL before saying this is the best 'que in the area. Edit: I updated to 5 stars because this location is just consistently good. They are also top notch with their catering game. We have had Bandana's cater our family Christmas for the past 3 years and every time the order is correct and delicious. read more

This was my first visit to this particular location. The layout is different from others I've visited, as this one is a Bandana's Express. With a very efficient ordering process and super friendly staff, my food arrived quickly. The restaurant was neat, the tables clean. Staff members promptly bussed and wiped tables. The downside today was the potato salad, hence the four stars. Mayonnaise-based is my favorite, however, this one had definitely overstayed its welcome. The hard-boiled eggs had gone soft and the potatoes were super mushy. As always, the ribs were terrific, with both soft and appropriately chewy parts. Though barbecue sauce isn't technically needed, with the moistness of the meat, I used the Chicago and the sweet sauces. It's a little thing, but I am always pleased when they cut the corn off on the cob for me. Their fried corn is delicious, as is the fried okra! I highly recommend this location. read more

May be southern but it ain't BBQ. Everything was smoked and the sauces in squirt bottles all tasted like vinegar. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but the beans and the potato salad were the only saving grace. Having worked in the food industry for many years, I saw several service issues as well. First, the front staff stood at the corner of the front counter and talked, drank and ignored patrons. Bad customer service. Second, their drinks were on the steel table behind the counter in full view of the dining room. This is actually a health hazard. The cups being used are way too close to the food. It's as bad as spitting on said food and is disgusting. The drinks should be in either a break room or around a corner. Third, while they were wasting time and chatting, there were dirty tables and floors that needed to be cleaned and the drink station needed to be wiped down and re-stocked. Customer service is just as important as the food and I was let down in both arenas. read more

We ordered take out via DoorDash. Got a Choose 3 Platter with Ribs, Chicken, and Brisket which came with 2 sides. We got the slaw which is great and fried corn which was not easy to eat off the cob so we cut it off and it was good. Also came with 2 slices of garlic bread which was good. Got the chicken nachos which are delicious, but I do wish the bbq was on the side because it was a bit soggy by the time we got it home. Everything was overall very good for a take out meal. Excellent meal! Beef was nice and tender and the sausage was flavorful, add fries and baked beans you have the perfect lunch. One of the few places that make really good sweet tea. We order take out from here at least twice a month but we're done. Ordered the budget buster rib meal. Says it comes with 2 rib bones. What you get is 1 ok rib bone with some meat on it, and 1 tiny burnt stub bone from the end piece. It was the length of my pinky. The ribs were dry and hard. Choked it down.
