I want to start off first by saying the employees here are very friendly. We came in a busy Friday night and experienced no issues with the service. The seating is nice. Very casual, has a nice outdoor area as well. Food could definitely be better... The mini burgers were OK, left much to be desired. A bit bland for my tastes. However, my stepdad got a regular burger and he really enjoyed it. My sweet potato fries were also very bland- tried some of my stepdad's tater tots and they were very good! He was the luckiest out of all of us, tonight. My mom got the Fantasy Roll and she wasn't crazy about it. Mediocre at best. We ordered the shrimp tempura roll for the table and personally I was just not a fan at all... the rice was very mushy and overcooked. The wasabi sauce on top was sweet?? It didn't pair well. As a sushi lover I was disappointed. I really enjoyed the strawberry coconut fizz, though! I love a good dirty soda and they followed suit with the trend nicely. Overall a very OK visit. There were so many things that I could have tried on my first visit to Drake's. My coworker was super excited about coming here for a burger and despite my goals to eat better this year, I think I should have just gotten a burger. Now I know, for next time. I love a good salad, but sometimes you still need something heavy with it to feel full, so I ordered the Chop salad with macaroni and cheese as my side. Unfortunately the Mac and cheese was true to Velveeta, if that's what you are looking for, you will love it. The salad was perfect, at first. So much flavor from the dressing, the chips, added flavor then you taste more dressing. It's funny they put 2 single chips in it, because it's almost so thick with dressing that it feels more like a dip than a salad. If was also very pretty. As I eat my lunch and work at the same time, I realize I'm not eating much, about halfway I stopped completely. There is so much dressing, that's really all that was left, I couldn't take it anymore. We started with pretzel sticks and fried pickles. The pretzel sticks were served hot. Very good taste and texture. Comes with mustard and cheese for dipping. I enjoyed both. The fried pickles arrived hot. The rind of the pickles were challenging to bite through. Good flavor. Then I ordered the Nigiri yellowtail and tuna. You get three pieces each. Good flavor. We are moving to the Ofallon area shortly thus on a hunt for our new go-to restaurant and wouldn't you know it, our first try was a winner! Our waitress, Evangelina, was kind, paitent and super peppy (not annoyingly so though). We tried Drakes out of curiosity mostly since they offered elevated bar food AND sushi. Like, how would sushi be good in a sports bar type set up? But wow was it GREAT! My husband was a huge fan of his burger and the open-air style bar/patio (large garage doors that they can open or close per the weather). First Time here! It was a bitter cold November Evening & we decided to try this establishment for dinner & we are glad we did! The inside had a warm friendly atmosphere enhanced by a wood burning fireplace in the corner which you could actually eat by. The menu had an abundance of selections which was pleasing to see! I've patronized Drakes since they opened, and the service and food was excellent, however, the very thing that made the great experience at this visit was pretty disappointing. We (husband and I) sat at the back bar and it was empty, the table top was sticky and one of the waitstaff wiped it down for us. Our bartender/server finally came over and he was robotic. No smile, not welcoming at all. He asked me what I'd like to drink, I asked for an Arnold Palmer and he asked what liquor that had, and I said none, it a 1/4 lemonade 3/4 iced tea, he was befuddled, he said I've never heard of that, my husband ordered a beer. The bartender came back with our drinks, asked if we were ready to order, we told him to give us 2 minutes. Bartender left and never came back, after 20 minutes my husband asked for a manager. The manager came over, my husband told him that the bartender was not attentive. Manager took our order, chicken wings and a side of French fries. The entire time we sat at the bar, the bartender did not come over one time to refresh my drink, ask if everything was ok, NOTHING. Our food was brought by a runner and another disappointment. The wings were ok, but the side of fries were 24 (I counted them) on a plate, not a basket like they usually come. I was just too pissed off to care at that point. The manager came over to let us know that for the lack of service the wings were comped and he apologized. Drakes is a chain that if it's going to flourish, it needs to get back to what it was when they opened. Good service, great ambiance and over the moon food. I have over 25k points with Drakes on my loyalty card and this experience was unacceptable. We're never going in again. It's sad because this was a ritual for us every Thursday. I came here for the first time last night with my sister. It was yourself. There was no one at the front door, which was kind of strange, but as soon as we picked a table, we were seated. I would check the tables before you decide to sit as the one we had was super wobbly on the table top and it was kind of annoying the entire time. Was very friendly and I feel like we had a great server she were cute pink glasses which I loved they decorated for Halloween on the inside of the restaurant. The food was mediocre. Stopped by Drakes during a Friday Happy Hour with my daughter. Drakes is a relatively new spot in O Fallon where you can find just about anything on the menu. We arrived about 5pm before the rush and seated with no issues or waiting. Drakes has plenty of TVs to watch any game and pretty good music, I was surprised how good the tunes were during our visit. They do have seating outside and can accommodate larger groups. Drakes has multiple beers on tap to meet anyone pallet and reasonable pricing. Our server quickly took our drink order and recommended a few appetizers. We went with the buffalo chicken dip with chips and some siracha bone in wings. Buffalo dip was a little greasy and salty for my liking, and wings were fully cooked decent siracha rub. Drakes does have a variety of sushi rolls and come with a good portion. Drakes also has the traditional items you expect to find at a sports bar. We ordered the fish plate with tots and Marty Party sushi roll. Fish had great presentation but was undercooked. Sushi was good and would recommend. By the time we finished our meal, Drakes was already full and had a small wait list. I recommend visiting before 6pm if you want to beat the rush. Tables were serviced quickly and restaurant was very clean. Drakes is kid friendly but can't confirm if there's an arcade. Overall, good visit but a little pricey. Everything was okay, it wasn't like "omg this is SO GOOD, I'm coming back." The rooms and feel of the place were very welcoming. We ordered a Fallspice drink, Crab Rangoon rolls, a chicken sandwich and the All American Mini burgers. The Crab Rangoon rolls were delicious and spot on as a great appetizer. The chicken sandwich was on par. The problem items brought it down a little. For instance, the tater tots on both plates were warm, not hot. Ever so slightly colder... and I would have sent mine back. The salt was heavy and separately almost resulted in a return. The sliders were tasty enough but greasier than the hands of an auto mechanic... and needed more napkins than provided at the table. Not quite used to using a knife and fork on a slider. Ok. Awesome new spot! Indoor/outdoor vibe, huge bar space, and cool fireplace. We stopped in a few nights ago and it was seat yourself- good selection of high tops, booth and tables. Service was excellent! We started with the Buffalo chicken dip and the seasoned chips were amazing. For entrees I got the steak with sweet potato fries and crab Rangoon roll. All were excellent. My husband got a patty melt with fries and it was delicious! It had a super good horseradish sauce on it. All of it was fantastic. Prices were reasonable and service was quick. We have gone to drakes multiple times, it's our weekend dinner spot. We went in to the Drakes in O'fallon location and told the girl 4 adults and 2 kids, so she took us to a 4 person table on the patio. She threw all the menus down and walked away. We had to chase her down and said we need a table for 6 all together so she took us next to the kitchen door. We asked why she couldn't just put two tables together on the patio, so she did. Then we had a GM named Dakota come to our table saying the 16yo host was cussed at and that we were derogatory towards her. When asked what was said and why he was removing us he just kept saying we cussed and were derogatory. Not once did anyone cuss or be derogatory towards the host. Nor did the GM Dakota ask our side of what had happened. A scene was made more by the GM Dakota than needed to be made. Truthfully will not be back. Then the owner responded on our google review to a link to give a brief summary of our situation to be contacted regarding what had happened and we never were contacted by anyone from Drakes in O'Fallon. read more

Way over cooked, pressed to a paste. You could do better with a sushi easy hokey device. Worst sushi I have ever had. My dog wouldn't even eat it. The restaurant's food tastes great, the servers were nice, and the atmosphere was good. Music plays in the background to the noise within the restaurant. A TV over the bar plays the music video of the song being played. There are many TVs inside that played everything from sporting events to America's Funniest Videos. Ordering food was fairly simple. However, I was asked how I was asked my salmon cooked (rare, medium, medium well, etc) I never have been asked that before, so I told them I wanted the fish cooked and moist. They did just that. The fish was cooked perfectly. The only complaint I had was the cost for the portions received. My fish filet was so small for $17.99. It could fit into the palm of my hand. I paid extra for a side salad. The side salad was actually the same size as the main $14.99 salad. It appeared the main salad was a bit small for the money too. Even though I was glad I added the side salad, I still left hungry. The children's meals are adequate at $5.99 (drink extra).. The children's meal sides were large and worth it. They also have lots of different sushi options here. I didn't try any this visit, but may in the future. Beers are plentiful here. There are so many on tap in many different t sizes. You can even pick up a 23oz. Blue Moon for just over $8. Recommendation: Download the app to earn rewards. Birthday & Anniversary rewards included! Side salads are about the same size as the entree. This location is fairly new to our area, and we were excited to have another restaurant close to our house. They always seem to be busy for dinner, so we decided to go in for an early dinner, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was great, and the service was fast and friendly. It's a fairly large open space, and the decor is typical of a sports bar. The menu is quite varied. I had the club sandwich, and it was delicious. I don't know if this is typical, but the night we were there, we weren't greeted at the door, and it felt like we were just supposed to seat ourselves, so that's what we did. I'm not sure if that's what we were supposed to do, but no one said anything one way or the other. After that though, everything was great. read more

First, this is a brand new restaurant here in O'fallon. I have been to other Drake's across the country and they are usually pretty good. There were several issues with our orders, it was a table of 4 people. One of my sushi rolls was missing the salmon, the salmon on my mother in laws dinner was severely dry and then there was no malt vinegar or cocktail sauce available for my sisters fish and chips. For this reason I didn't take pictures. The patio was only open halfway and there are very few low tables for handicapped individuals. The service was good and the decor was nice but it was very very loud. I will be back though, like I said it is new and there are always growing pains. read more

The sushi was outstanding and it not being an Asian establishment didn't give me high hopes but they definitely proved me wrong. The rolls were fresh & tasted authentic. We have been waiting for a new restaurant to open in Ofallon for a long time. Finally someone decided to come and give us more choices. My wife and I have eaten at Drakes in Tennessee and in Illinois so we are familiar with the restaurant. The visit started off slow as we sat at the bar and waited 8 minutes before we were waited on ( they weren't slacking, just making a lot of drinks for the people not at the bar). Finally Lacy waited on us and it was all uphill from there. My wife ordered the Mini Juicy Lucy and I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich. Both were outstanding , tons of flavor and the portion was amazing. Then the fries which I'm very picky. I love crinkle fries and that's what they had with perfect seasoning. We waited for about 20 - 25 minute and not a single person came to our table. After not receiving any service we left. There wasnt but maybe 5 occupied tables.
