Snapper platter with potato wedges & a roll.
    Monica G.

I LOVED this place. Listen, if I'm headed to a place where there is a beach, I'm having seafood SOMEWHERE. I was staying downtown and took a little 10 minute drive to this place. Don't let the neighborhood fool you. This place was delicious & inexpensive. I ordered the snapper platter. I wanted a side of coleslaw, but by the time I got there (4:00ish) they had run out. The snapper was so fresh with a nice crispy batter. Ugh it was so good. It came with three large potato wedges which also had a very LIGHT batter on them and I loved it. Personally, I am not a fan of beer battered fish, so I'm glad this one was the grainy type. I also don't eat rolls and even the roll was good!!! Lol Not a big selection of soft drinks so I ordered an unsweet tea. It was the brewed tea not instant so that is a plus for me also. Very simple, clean place. Wasn't crowded when I went, but there were people coming in & out for to go orders the whole time I was there. My cashier was very friendly also. If you're in Corpus, definitely put this on your list to try. I come to this area every several months and plan on hitting this place up every single time from here on out. Ps. The platter comes with tartar sauce, but I'm not a fan so I asked them not to put any on my plate.

    Drum and fish, shrimp platter.

Great seafood if you are in Corpus Christie. It's a small hole in the wall establishment and majority of customers take their food to go. The inside of the restaurant needs a renovation big time. Panhandlers were also coming in and out trying to sell you stuff while you are eating. There was not really anyone policing that issue. You are kind of on you own in the dining area if you need something you have to walk to the window. The menu is written on the wall and they have two windows to order and pick up. The great food is worth the visit. The portions were huge and the coating on the fish was crispy and fish itself was tender. Definitely stopping by here again but taking my food to go.

2 shrimp and 2 fish with 3 potato wedges, roll and tartar sauce

First time ever eating here, and there's no regrets! It was soo delicious! The shrimp and fish were huge! Tarter sauce has a little kick to it, very good but different! Customer service was great and didn't wait too long. There's no place to sit inside but that was ok.

Great hole in the wall fried seafood. You get you order, at a very fair price. Just a note, the pricing is a little off. Items I, N, and Q are are over double the price of G, L, and P. You get twice the food, but no potato wedges. Just FYI. And the onion rings are the best!

First time here and I was very skeptical to eat here because the look of the building outside was so old and I normally get grossed out by things like that. When we went no one was dining in lol but I will say that the place looked as clean as it could be in an old building like it is so that was good. The man who took our order didn't really greet us, so that was kind of weird but the food made up for it. We ordered the fried fish, shrimp and oysters with potato wedges and OMG... it was soooooo stinking good!!!!! I was so surprised lol everything tasted fresh and perfectly fried. The fried fish are small pieces, not a fillet, so keep that in mind when ordering. They give you a roll, lime and tarter sauce so we didn't have to ask for anything else. It's definitely a hole in the wall place but it's so worth it, please try this place!

    Double Grilled Veracruz. Awesome.
    Jerry R.

The best thing on the menu is a Double grilled Veracruz. I have ordered it many times and it's just perfect. Get 15 Potato Wedges as well. This combo will serve two people. The grilled or fried fish fillets are also groovy. Pass on the small chunks of fried fish, mainly breading. They never seem to have Cole Slaw available.

Double flounder to go SOOOO GOOD
    Marco G.

Came back yet again this time I picked up the double flounder for my entire family three in total. They were all fresh hot and tasted so good. I don't know what kind of seasoning do you use or what process but it always taste consistently good. And the huge potato wedges with a little lemon complement the flounder so well. And then the delicious Hawaiian roll.

Fried snapper, potato wedges, hush puppies and jalapeno peppers.

First time here. I came because of Yelp comments and I like small local restaurants. Fish was fried to perfection. Potato wedges were battered in the same breading as the fish. Very tasty and they were huge. I ate inside, it was clean and the staff was friendly. I definitely recommend the food.

On menu A. Pieces are really small compared to fish joints I go to in the San Antonio area.

My cocktail Vuelve ala Vida (The sauce was a watered down unflavored mess) the Shrimp were really fresh, but the cocktail sauce was horrible. The kiddos had Alfredo shrimp pasta they said it was good, the wife said her dish was OK some pulpo fish ala diabla. The small appetizer tostadas with 2 tiny salsas is meh, but the ceviche was tasteless. (If you can find a Peruvian restaurant order ceviche there) you eyes and mouth will be opened. Service was fast, and personally, they do this to move people out quick, because it's a very small place, and the quality of food suffers. For me it's a SOLID 3

The ambiance is great for a casual family meal and there is also a bar area as well. My only suggestion is for the restaurant to please oh please put a bit into upgrading the bathrooms. It really is a disservice to the customers and experience when some of the stalls don't close and the toilets are literally falling apart and closed with plastic instead of the normal parts they should be. However, we will be back and recommend it to others for a great casual meal with excellent food, good service and reasonable prices!

Upon arrival, the hostess insisted we look at the menu before entry because "our menu is a little strange," or something along those lines. While this was certainly a strange greeting, we still, of course, wanted to eat at the restaurant, as we had already looked at the menu prior to arriving. As if I wasn't already feeling unwelcome enough, the hostess also thought it relevant to mention that we barely got there in time because they would stop taking tables after us, even though they had an entire hour before closing. On top of all this, the hostess made comments about where I decided to sit, saying something along the lines of, "Are you sure you want to sit over there? It looks too sunny." So, after being told that my palate might not be sophisticated enough to indulge in their premium cuisine, and essentially being told that we were an inconvenience for coming in an hour before close, yes, please question the spot that I am choosing to be seated in. Lastly, I also overheard a waitress complain about not being able to leave because a party was still eating (despite there still being 45 minutes before close). Overall, the atmosphere from the staff was unwelcoming and unprofessional. The food is the only thing that may bring me back in the future.

This place does have some of that, but they also offer a good mix of seafood and less typical options, which stood out. I went with a Texas plate with cheese enchiladas and carne guisada. Not the most exciting choice, but it ended up being one of the better versions I've had. The sauces tasted homemade and the guisada had that slow-simmered flavor. The flour tortillas were made in house, which is a big deal for me and not something you always find around here. My brother ordered the ceviche and the portion was massive for the price. He couldn't finish it and had plenty left over, and said it was excellent. My son went with a burger and cleared his plate, so that says enough. My mom ordered enchiladas stuffed with carne asada and covered in queso. If I had paid closer attention to the menu, I probably would have gone that route. She's usually a light eater and still finished the whole plate. The staff we interacted with were friendly, the place looked good inside, and it didn't feel like a basic taqueria setup. We started with the grapefruit, avocado and arugula salad with feta--fresh, bright and absolutely delicious. Then came the smoked snapper dip, followed by the drunken clams with Akaushi sausage. OMG. The clams were served in an incredible white wine, garlic, smoky, savory broth with crusty bread to soak up every last drop. There was absolutely no leaving that broth behind. Then came the branzino. Flame-grilled with fire-roasted red pepper and garnished with Italian chimichurri. Absolutely phenomenal. Beautifully prepared, full of flavor and one of those dishes you continue talking about long after the meal is over. In fact, about halfway through dinner, the table next to us interrupted to ask what we had ordered because everything looked so good--and, apparently, our very obvious food orgasm while eating caught their attention. The service was amazing. (Holden was great) The bartenders and servers were attentive throughout the evening, the drinks were great, and the wine was good. I would love to see the wine list expanded a bit with more options, but that is truly a minor suggestion compared with the overall experience. And then there's the atmosphere. Wonderful.
