We ordered oysters Rockefeller for appetizer, it was outstanding, great taste and not overly breaded or saucy, you could still taste the oysters. For dinner we ordered the special which was mahi with crab, rosemary sauce. Great taste but the fish was beyond overcooked and chewy.(only reason for 4 stars). So grateful for Salt Water Grill! The best oysters Rockefeller we've ever had with their signature sauce!!! No need for crackers as these slide right out of the shell and into your mouth! The service was outstanding. Especially the host constantly checking on us and asking our opinion on our choices as we tried them. Ask to be seated with Destiny, she will take exceptional care of you. We travel with our little dog and called ahead to ask if they were pet friendly. We were told if he doesn't cause a disturbance or be a distraction for the other guests. Our baby dog knows how to behave in public and sat quietly looking out the window. Such a wonderful place to eat! The seated us with house made potato chips. For an appetizer we chose the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with crab. They were so good! They also have these as an entree. I ordered the Mahi Alto Cocina. It came with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables. It was very tasty. My husband ordered the special of the day that is not on their menu. It was grilled salmon with clump crab with a special sauce with rice pilaf and broccoli. It also was amazing. His was so big he had to take some home. Most of the chefs specials dishes ran about $27. Destiny was our server she was a delight. Her recommendations where great and our food came out do timely. We were famished and I ordered shrimp with crab stuff bacon wrapped, oysters Rockefeller, and a cup of gumbo it was my least favorite it had tomatoes in it but the rue was good. Then we had a seafood platter and key lime pie to go. Jose was also dropping off plates and he suggested the Grilled Redfish was excellent and he was very attentive to the needs of our table. We arrived early on a tired Tuesday evening and my partner and I were immediately seated, handed menus and ordered drinks. The restaurant is located in a strange space right where Airline and Cimarron intersect; it's a bit hard to find. The inside is painted bright sea blue with nautical decorations with about 20 tables. The menu contains mostly seafood but some chicken and steak selections. We ordered fried grouper/shrimp platter with okra and cole slaw and grilled shrimp with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables. We were given a bowl of fresh potato chips, warm from the fryer - they're good, but I would suggest salt and seasonings, maybe even a sauce for dipping as they are bland. Bland seemed to be the cuisine of the day. Our fish and shrimp were not seasoned very well, and needed more salt/pepper just to be palatable. The tartar sauce is very tasteless as is the cole slaw made with mainly red cabbage. The okra was fine, the hushpuppies were forgettable and would benefit greatly from a little jalapeno, onion, corn or pepper. Grilled shrimp was good except for the seasoning and the pilaf was okay, but who raves about rice pilaf? Steamed veggies (yawn) were yucky. Even a cheese sauce or butter sauce would have improved the flavor. The portions of grouper on the fish/shrimp platter were tiny - about the size of a half dollar and there were only three of them. At the price you would expect a little more. The shrimp on that platter were large but overcooked. Everything tasted fresh - - no complaints there. The service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean inside and has a full bar. Total for two platters, two teas was $46.88 without tip. With just a few tweaks this restaurant would be five stars. read more

My server Jasmin seated me and got me a beer and water while I looked over the menu. She brought my drinks and a basket of homemade potato chips...and they are very addicting! I decided to go with Jasmin's suggestion and ordered their homemade onion rings and the Mahi Alto Cocina. The onion rings were good and the batter light...very good appetizer or side for a meal. The Mahi Alto Cocina was very different, but in a good way. The fish was cooked just right and the cream sauce was mellow but the pico really made the dish "pop" with the raw tastes combined with the cooked fish and warm cream sauce. The crab is a nice touch but doesn't add much to the dish, but the combination of the sauce, fish, and pico was really good and unusual. The side of veggies and rice were a perfect compliment to the dish made for an overall delicious meal. Great food and excellent service! read more

It is a cute restaurant with a variety of menu items even if you are not a seafood person. My husband and I came here for lunch and were seated promptly! We were seated under a ceiling fan that was working overtime on high! Our server came to take our order and we said we had never been here. We also requested for the ceiling fan to be turned off as I was freeing (I even had long sleeves on). We had just sat down and had not had time to look at the menu. She said she could get our drinks. We ordered several draft beers but they were out of them. We finally selected our beverages. She dropped the drinks off and did not come back for over 20 minutes. She walked past our table 3 or 4 times and the 5 th time she walked passed, my husband called out to her. We said we have been waiting over 20 minutes to place our order and the fan was still blowing to hard. She said well I do have 3 tables, what do you want. I said the fan is still working overtime. Long story short... we spoke to the manager to let her know our frustrations and that we were leaving because waiting over 20 minutes to place an order was ridiculous as she had time to stand by the kitchen chit chatting with other coworkers. So disappointed in their customer service! I do not recommend this restaurant what so ever! read more

Oh yeah,I remember now. Pre Pandemic! Does anyone remember that? I came to the coast in December of 2019 to visit my favorite town in Texas, Port Aransas . There's nothing quite as fulfilling as an empty town and beach. But the only time that's available is the truly " off season "of winter. As I said in my first review,I'd come inland for the day because a bitterly cold front moved thru. I found this place and it was perfect. So,finding myself around lunchtime in Corpus,I remembered. So,I dialed up Salt Water Grill on the Yelponator and headed over. They had maintained strong reviews and Star ratings over the last four years so I knew I was fixing to eat some great seafood. I decided to pull over and phone in my order. Perfect,friendly on the other end took my order expeditiously and said 10 minutes. I arrived in 5, was enthusiastically greeted,paid and off a beverage while waiting. Soon my order was ready and wisked away to a local park where I enjoyed fresh gulf coast fish and seafood . Went down to Port A for the weekend and didn't want to eat on the island so we found SWG on yelp with good reviews. It did not disappoint, the staff were great and friendly. He suggested the mushrooms, and we ordered that and raw oysters. Both were delightfully good. I had questions about the entrees and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. I ordered the Blackened Redfish w/Caesar Salad and Rice. The salad was awesome. The touch of shaved Parmesan uplifted my experience. The lettuce was cold and crisp the way it should be. My entree was presented well, served at proper food temp, and tasty. My wife ordered the Mahi Mahi that was served with Rice and grilled Asparagus. The fish was cooked perfectly, the rice was a little cool to her pallet which was surprising to me, and the asparagus was cooked just right. I ordered key lime pie for dessert and it was very good. My wife ordered bread pudding to go, and ate it later she said it was over the top good. The restroom was clean, but is in need of a makeover. This place is family owned and excellent every time we visit. Well worth any wait when it's busy. Their seafood ceviche is DYNO-MITE! With just enough spice to compliment but not overpower the seafood. Comes with Mexican chips but I prefer dipping with the homemade kettle chips they bring out for all tables. Get the Parmesan crusted shrimp as an app or entree. It's soooo good. They have blackboard specials and Ive tried them all. Most entreess come with a vegetable medley and rice that does not disappoint. Really great deserts too.
