We were a party of 15 Guests and were there for a gathering of monthly Birthday celebrations of four Corpus Christi area Friends! We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly as an area was reserved for our party of 15. Our Waitress was "Ashley"! She was Very nice, smiled often, was very patient and extremely efficient in wrangling everyone's order. Ashley had a great attitude and was super in every aspect of her job and with everything she did. As with anything in life, her ability to effectively communicate with her Customers was Stellar. She had minor assistance from other servers and for the most part she handled our party by herself and continued to provide service to other large parties in the same room. WOW! She took our orders in a calm and effective manner and remembered all the tiny details that any table could impose on "Wait" Staff. Her poise, superb ability to communicate effectively and a Wonderful attitude made our stay a memorable one. Mistakes NONE! Complaints; some steaks had gristle on them. Really! That was a very minor issue and all agreed that it did not curb our appetite or spoil our celebration. The food was good to very good and accompanying condiments for everyone came in a quick and timely manner. Our party highly recommends this Restaurant and we keep coming back! As for Ashley, She is a KEEPER! PS: Our table gave her a round of Applause for her dynamic Customer service! I went from picking Cotten, Fruits and Vegetables in many parts of the country, as a Migrant Worker to earning a College Degree with a BS in Business Management. Plus Serving my Country in the Air Force for over 22 years to include a one year "tour" in Vietnam. As a Civilian I have been trained in two Culinary Schools, to include on the job training at other venues. I've successfully managed full service as well as fast food restaurants and have had my own successful Catering business. I have traveled to many places and tasted the many culinary delicacies this world has to offer! The clams were served in an incredible white wine, garlic, smoky, savory broth with crusty bread to soak up every last drop. There was absolutely no leaving that broth behind. Then came the branzino. Flame-grilled with fire-roasted red pepper and garnished with Italian chimichurri. Absolutely phenomenal. Beautifully prepared, full of flavor and one of those dishes you continue talking about long after the meal is over. In fact, about halfway through dinner, the table next to us interrupted to ask what we had ordered because everything looked so good--and, apparently, our very obvious food orgasm while eating caught their attention. The service was amazing. (Holden was great) The bartenders and servers were attentive throughout the evening, the drinks were great, and the wine was good. I would love to see the wine list expanded a bit with more options, but that is truly a minor suggestion compared with the overall experience. And then there's the atmosphere. Wonderful. Sitting right on the water overlooking the bay while enjoying an incredible meal made the entire experience even better. This is what dining out should be: incredible food, thoughtful flavors, attentive service, great drinks and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. We were sat promptly as it was a Tuesday afternoon and not a prime time. After looking at the menu we decided we would stick with appetizers and drinks, we started off with the seafood queso and the strawberry Daquiri. Our queso came out promptly within 5 minutes, was very flavorful and was easily the best part of our dining experience. Our Daquiri however did not come for 15+ minutes and we had to ask our waitress a second time for them. She had brought them out promptly after making the second request however upon getting them and trying, they were nothing notable. They did not have much of a strawberry flavor to them and though it was very nice on a hot day to have a cold drink they did not carry what I had high hopes in for a Daquiri. For the rest of our order we decided to try the hot wings (buffalo tossed) and the Fried Calamari. Both came out promptly and were about what we were expecting based off of the reviews. The hot wings were very flavorful and had a good buffalo coating and paired nicely with the ranch provided, the texture however was not there. The wings were not nearly crispy enough and could have used a couple more minutes frying. The calamari was average as well, the lemon brought it up some however the marinara was in a little to go cup and was chunky and difficult to manage with some of the calamari. The texture was good on the batter however the squid itself had inconsistencies as some pieces were crispy and others chewy. At the end of the day if you wish to stop in for a snack and drink after a day of touring the area this is a good spot to do so, however for a meal I would prefer to go a little ways further for something I enjoy more.
