Nolan's is a Corpus institution serving a broad menu of American comfort food that most will find both appealing and appetizing. They have a few locations scattered around the city. They boast that they have the best chicken fried steak in town - wouldn't know because I've never tried it. Their steaks, on the other hand, are pretty good considering their prices. Service is good. Inside is casual, comfortable and quite roomy. Super easy and convenient choice if you're on this side of Corpus.

Very clean restaurant. You order at a counter. The service was fast. We got the fried shrimp with fried okra and mashed potatoes and the chicken fried steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. Food was served hot. Vegetables were a little bland, but there is salt and pepper on every table. Highly recommend for a good casual meal out.

    Terrible chicken fried steak!

Chicken fried steak grossly over cooked. Crust hard as a rock and meat inside burnt black! Terrible yeast roll and fried okra extra greasy. Only reason they got two stars is because the pinto beans were pretty good.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was nice and clean and looked well kept. The food was pretty good I had the Chicken fried steak and my wife had the fried shrimp. She said it was the best shrimp she has had in Corpus. The menu was not very large but covered the based for most everyone. The food was solid overall but nothing over the top. Nolan's will stay on our radar for places to go when we visit Corpus.

My Mother in law recommended this for lunch and it was so good. The atmosphere is very home like quiet and plenty of room. The food portions were big and delicious! The restroom was clean

Very efficient and friendly. Enjoy the quality of their seafood (catfish and shrimp). Mac and cheese is always a must have side too.

The restaurant is located in a strange space right where Airline and Cimarron intersect; it's a bit hard to find. The inside is painted bright sea blue with nautical decorations with about 20 tables. The menu contains mostly seafood but some chicken and steak selections. We ordered fried grouper/shrimp platter with okra and cole slaw and grilled shrimp with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables. We were given a bowl of fresh potato chips, warm from the fryer - they're good, but I would suggest salt and seasonings, maybe even a sauce for dipping as they are bland. Bland seemed to be the cuisine of the day. Our fish and shrimp were not seasoned very well, and needed more salt/pepper just to be palatable. The tartar sauce is very tasteless as is the cole slaw made with mainly red cabbage. The okra was fine, the hushpuppies were forgettable and would benefit greatly from a little jalapeno, onion, corn or pepper. Grilled shrimp was good except for the seasoning and the pilaf was okay, but who raves about rice pilaf? Steamed veggies (yawn) were yucky. Even a cheese sauce or butter sauce would have improved the flavor. The portions of grouper on the fish/shrimp platter were tiny - about the size of a half dollar and there were only three of them. At the price you would expect a little more. The shrimp on that platter were large but overcooked. Everything tasted fresh - - no complaints there. The service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean inside and has a full bar. Total for two platters, two teas was $46.88 without tip. With just a few tweaks this restaurant would be five stars.

Going back to my hometown always conjures up good memories. I was visiting over Mother's Day…read moreweekend when I had a craving for "fast fish" on my way back out of town. Since my childhood favorite place was no longer around (and you locals know exactly what drive-in I'm thinking about), I noticed that Banda's opened up a new location that had a drive-thru! Having been around since the 80's, Banda's was a favorite of my dad's back in the day so I HAD to go by and try it out. I ordered the 3F, 3S plate which came with a roll and three sizable fried potato wedges. To my own surprise, was blown AWAY by the potato wedges. They were well seasoned, perfectly fried, and tasted just delicious. The fish filets were a decent size, fried extra crispy and tasted good as well, albeit only one of the filets was plump and flaky inside. The other two were on the thin side. The shrimp was also battered well and a good size and tasted good too. The tartar sauce was also good, although not as good as my old favorite place... but nobody has tartar sauce like that anymore. All around, it was a satisfying meal and left me with a smile on my face thinking about old memories of my dad frying fish from Banda's Fish Market at home. The service was very friendly and the price point of the meal was fair. Finally, a "new" fast-fish place rises out of the ashes in the city I call home. I'll be back.

The waitress arrived and took my order, their margaritas are large and strong. They give you complimentary chips and fish ceviche with salsas, which were excellent. The green salsa had quite a kick. We ate there, vs. to-go, they have a fairly large seating area. They also seemed like they are doing a lot of to-go orders. We were seated and they brought out ceviche and fried tortia chips and crackers. It was delicious and had a little spice with a really nice fresh taste. The two salsa's were also very good, one was on the milder side and one was hot. My wife had the Camarones Zarandeados (Grilled shrimp with home sauce). It comes with several shrimp and rice. It is marked mild, my wife thought it was a bit spicy but loved it and eat it all. I had the Huachinago Al Gusto (Red Snapper natural) with Diabla sauce. It comes with rice, a piece of bread and a salad. The picture shows it with fries but I didn't get any. I was okay with that as it was very filling and delicious! A musician came in and played some music on his guitar and sang, that added to the entire experience. If I lived here I'd be visiting here a lot.
