I take my best friends dogs here all the time. Early morning is the best and there are plenty of trails to walk. Its beautiful and well maintained, park goers often doing the work to keep it vibrant. Best dog park in Olalla, paws down. read more

Our Golden Retriever loves this park. Although we're closer to Howe Park, we prefer Bandix because there are several areas to play fetch where your pooch won't always have competition for their favorite toy. The perimeter loop through the woods takes about 20 minutes, our Golden likes to play hide-and-seek there. There are several benches and patio chairs placed about the park. For the most part the park is clean. There are poo mitts located throughout the park and a garbage can near the gated entrances. There is also a human waste receptacle. It would be great if the water storage areas were covered as they tend to grow algae in the summer sun. We have not had a negative experiences with other dogs here either. read more

LOVE Bandix. I am not wild about dog parks with the sole intention of my dog playing with other dogs in an enclosed pen simply because it's not my dog's personality. This is several acres of hiking trails where dogs can explore and greet other dogs casually in passing. It's a wonderful park! read more

A close alternative to Point Defiance Dog Park!! We moved to Gig Harbor from North Tacoma and we have been on the search for a good dog park for a few months and I am happy that we found Bandix. The park is located at the bottom of a short dirt road which leads to a private lot. The dog park is gated, but there is a sign on it stating that not all of it is enclosed, so if you have a dog that responds to your commands this should not be a problem and the woods are thick enough that they cannot get too far anyhow. Upon entering the park there is a large area big enough to throw the ball from there paths head out in different directions. The route we take appears to be one of the longer ones with about 20-30 minutes of walking, so probably close to 3/4 of a mile. Like a few other parks they provide poop bags for the dogs and people bring water for the dogs, which is left near the entrance of the park. I have been here a few times and never seen many folks here and they ones I have ran into have been very nice. An overall cool place for the dogs!! read more

This park is great except one major problem...wasps and nests. You will find many up in the trees which aren't a huge issue there are some in the ground and in stumps. The park does a terrible job of having someone come spray and kill the wasps. One time a chair was placed over a jest in the ground as a solution. My dogs have gone there 10 times and been stung about ...3x now. The last time my poor dog came running back toward me with a swarm of wasps surrounding him stinging him. I pulled about 25 stingers out of him and he was miserable. This place is extremely dangerous if your dog is allergic so if your dog is allergic DO NOT BRING TO THIS PARK. The park has a ton of trails in the woods which is really cool but that's where wasps love to be. read more

This park is huge! Check out the map by the entrance of places to go. I believe this park is about 30 acres. There is walking trails for you and your dog(s) to walk throughout the park. I like dog parks where you can walk so YOU can get some exercise along with the dog! There are several open areas where you can throw balls for your dog(s) to fetch. Some open areas have tall grass which can be a good exercise for your dog to find her/his ball by smelling. My dog did find a lot of balls but wouldn't bring those balls back except "her" ball with her smell. There are blackberries patches where you can pick berries to eat. There are benches and picnic tables in the park for you to relax with your dog(s). Bring your own water for the dogs! read more

LOVE this off-leash dog park. We use to bring out black lab out here at least once a week. I absolutely love the trails! There is no other place like this! Unfortunately I moved to SoCal, so I will never have a dog park like this down here, but as far as the size of this dog park and the landscape of it, its a dog's dream. The only downfall is that there are too many people who do not pick up after their dogs even though there are plenty of opportunities with garbage cans and bags all over the property. Many people gather here at different times on different days and just let their dogs roam, which I personally don't mind because the dog park is big enough to get away from everyone and still it still feels private. I definitely don't recommend bringing you kids here if they cannot handle different dog personalities, just like any dog park. The best reason to come here is to take advantage of the trails because this place provides the off-leash opportunity to do so without having to worry about your dog roaming too far. It's a little hidden and if you miss the sign you will go right past this place and not even know it. Wish I could replicate this park somewhere in SoCal and my dog would love it, all over again. read more

I think this park gets taken for granted with our sad grey sky's and horrible weather sometimes. But this truly is a very beautiful park. I lucked out by going at a time when everyone was busy so I got to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful blooms all at once. I only didnt give it 5 stars due to it not being completely fenced. But its still just a fun park to walk around has baggy stations placed throughout for easy access. :) read more

This Dog Park is AWESOME! We took our Reese's for the first time today and he had a blast! The trails go on forever! Kitsap county really did a great job with this park! It is a busy park when we arrived there where several people and puppies there. It is an off leash park so be prepared to be greeted by the dogs already there. We had NO ISSUES with aggressive dogs, it was awesome, lot of tail wagging and slobber! Reese's is just 6 months so we did keep him on his lead.. but it is fenced. read more

Conveniently located. Just a tip though, this is generally an off leash park. So don't be surprised if a misbehaved/ questionably aggressive dog is let off its leash unmonitored. Would recommend scoping it out before feeling completely safe about my dog roaming. I've had some weird experiences of other dogs harassing mine & it's owner doing nothing about it... They were claiming "he's friendly he's friendly" while the dog was clearly intimidating and making my dog very uncomfortable. read more

This is Honey the Dogs new favorite dog park. There are acres and acres to roam. Trails marked with signs in the shape of dog bones. The trails are well maintained, lots of elevation changes, different types of trees, a lot of really nice Madronas, a open Meadow. Lots of benches, bowls of water, nice folks and happy dogs. I was really impressed with the trails, thinking it must have took dozens of people to make them. Then I find out that the place used to be a Boy Scout Camp, hence the trails. What a wonderful haven for dogs to freely roam trails. It's fenced. It provides water and doggie bags. Has a portable toilet for humans. An enclosed small dog area (but the small guys like to hang with the sweet big guys). You can join as a member for a small sum of money that supports this wonderful park in a natural setting. I drive a ways from Tacoma to Olalla, where it is located, but it is so worth it for both my dog and my peace of mind and tranquility. read more

It borders on 3.5 stars for the weird encounters I've had, but generally I like this park. It is pretty close to our house in Gig Harbor and there are always other dogs to play with. There is a big open field where you walk into the park, then it splits into multiple trails. Not the prettiest forest for the area, but plenty to walk through (or run through as it were) and the trails connect. There is a longer out loop and smaller inner loops for lower energy dogs and people. It is NOT fully fenced, but rather has "natural barriers" in most non-fenced places as was explained to me. It has never been a problem for us, but I'm still weary. The trails can get pretty narrow, so sometimes it's a close thing to pass other dogs, or something to be aware of for dogs who spook easily as you can't always see the dogs coming your way. There are a few little grassy areas to sit away from the main open field. There are also a few poo stations with bags and trash cans along the trails. read more

This dog park was not as big as I thought it would be. There is only one area of open space for you to throw balls, if that is what your dog is into. Going deeper in the dog park, it turns into a wooded area with mini trails. Everything around it is over grown and my dog loves going in and out of the bushes like he is a wild animal. Beware, there are holes/gaps in the fences, my husky walked through a path and ended up on the other side of the fence from me. We had to carry him over since we weren't able to lead him around. I came here on a Saturday, and for a weekend it's not very busy. There were only about 5 dog owners here at most at one point of time. Not many dogs for my husky to play with. However, luckily for him another husky did stop by. There is no water hose to supply fresh water; however there are jugs of water left there with water bowls. I would suggest that you bring your own water. I think this is a great dog park if you live in the area. As for me, I live in Seattle so it is a bit of a drive, plus I have to pay to cross the Narrows Bridge or pay to go on the ferry, so I probably won't be visiting this dog park. read more

Most important info is that this park is NOT FULLY FENCED. Most of it is fenced. Some of the fencing is the large hole 4 inch by 4 inch fencing which is not small dog safe. As a result, we have to keep our high prey instinct small dog on leash. She chases the rabbits in the park and it is so large that she got lost once. We had Labrador help in finding her but it was scary. The small dog area is rarely used because it is too small and overgrown. I am always the only dog owner in it but that is not a bad thing. On the positive side (and I really do like this part), the trails are awesome for us to walk with our dogs and get exercise in a lovely wooded area. The walk all the way around measures out about 1/2 mile. There are many different ways to cut through the park and some are not marked trails. (doggy made) If you are directionally challenged like me, then you will find the first couple of times on the trails slightly challenging. No worries though, the pups usually know just where to go. Some dog owners have been "run off" by regulars or volunteers for bringing their aggressive or unneutered dogs to this park. Neutered dogs often gang up on and attack unneutered males so it is for their own safety. The park was a small airport many years ago that now has a LOT of Scotch broom which the dogs love but makes it difficult to keep up with where your dog is if they roam. Bring your own water. Poop bags are put there by the many dedicated volunteers. Remember it's a dog park...not a kid park and all dogs don't love your great children. read more
