2 months after spay this is what her incision looked like, red, swollen and uncomfortable.

Here's an update on how bad Banfield is, and their lack of education in properly treating animals. Here's a picture of my puppy, who was spayed by Banfield at 6 months. This picture was taken at 8 months, 2 months after the procedure. Negligence on behalf of the vet caused her pain and impacted my wallet. Next are side by side pictures. One of the healthy side of her mouth/teeth and the other of a retained baby tooth. Banfield refused to remove the retained tooth until she is 12 months old or her first dental cleaning. This goes against the advice of the American Kennel Club and 4 reputable vet's I have discussed her case with. Google when to remove retained baby teeth, as well as what happens if the teeth are not removed at 6 months of age and you will discover all that can happen. Here we are 3 months after I reached out to Banfied and did not get anywhere. Can you imagine if I wait another three months? She cannot chew on that side of her mouth, clearly telling me it is uncomfortable. I will be taking Banfield to small claims, my paperwork has been filed. I don't care if it take 5 years to get my day in court. This is about the principle of what I have been through, my poor puppy has been and continues to go through and for the countless other animals receiving beyond inadequate care from this practice.

Horrible customer service by Salem, my cat is sick and near death and they refused to see her, thank you Danvers for seeing her on your lunch break but she still needs care.

We had also moved into a new apartment on the second floor of a very old home, and the steep stairs were just making it worse (so we have broken our lease and are moving to solve that problem). My list included water therapy, but where is a city dog to go? Paws in Motion! I emailed Dr. Suzy and said that someone had recommended the underwater treadmill and/or swimming, made an appointment for later in the week and after meeting him she said she thought he would do best in the pool to start. He was outfitted with a life preserver, and headed up the ramp to get in the pool. In his previous swims (outdoors) he just walked right into the water, but when he needed to then go down a ramp and into the pool, he had the "you want me to do WHAT?" look on his face. However, Dr. Suzy had a tennis ball and he wanted that more than anything, so he followed her into the pool and looked so pleased with himself! He went back and forth retrieving his ball, and each week I notice that he moves more easily through the water and he is full of energy afterwards (some dogs might be tired, but this just energizes him). She is located at the intersection of Routes 9/27, and just a couple of miles from the Mass Pike exit so no matter where you are coming from it is easy to get there. We come from Brighton, it is a quick drive and he can't get out of the car fast enough and into her office each week. I am so happy we found her so I can keep my boy's paws in motion!!

She was cold, condescending, and completely dismissive, presenting every decision as if it were hers alone and speaking down to us rather than guiding or consulting us as the pet's family. There was no compassion, no kindness, and no sense of understanding during one of the most terrifying moments of our lives with a very sick dog. Her explanations were nonstop, filled with complex medical jargon, as if she's reading from a clinical textbook and offered no pause for questions or clarification. We were left so frustrated and distrusting that we had to use ChatGPT on-site just to research possible causes and try to understand what might be happening -- something no pet owner should ever have to do while in an emergency veterinary clinic. Adding insult to injury, the prices were outrageously high, completely disproportionate to the level of care, communication, or thoughtful evaluation we received. The interaction felt rushed, transactional, and almost robotic, prioritizing speed and cost over empathy or genuine concern for our pet's wellbeing. Additionally, it looks like she recently graduated from vet school yet she was the only vet on staff when she was there. Worse, reading other reviews on both Yelp and Google Reviews revealed a clear pattern: multiple pet owners describe the same condescending, intimidating, and confusing behavior from this particular veterinarian, with alarming recommendations delivered abruptly, leaving families feeling pressured, unheard, and unsupported. This is not an isolated incident -- it is a repeated pattern of behavior. Pet owners deserve honesty, clear explanations, and true compassion when their pets' lives are on the line. Dr. Schwartz fails on all counts, treating owners like they have no voice and prioritizing her own authority over guidance, empathy, or care. Warning to all pet owners: avoid this practice if you value compassion, trust, 2 way communication, and the wellbeing of your pet.

I…read morecannot say enough about Dr. Hartman, Dr. Tast, Dr. Hedges, and the entire team at Wellesley Animal Hospital. How they can remember the special medical needs and unique personalities of each and every pet they care for is mind boggling!! The technicians and receptionists are all extremely knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Even during the pandemic, when they were extremely vulnerable to illness and often short staffed, they never let it sacrifice the level of excellence they provide in caring for all animals. The practice appreciates that - our animals are members of our family, and treat them as such. When our dog, Piper, was battling late stage heart disease they were masters in getting her medication just right, providing her with the highest quality of life until the very end. They exhausted every option, were patient when we had questions/emergencies with medication and always had time to talk us through anything that came up. The front desk was kind enough to make multiple calls and follow-up on our behalf to help find an emergency ultrasound appointment, once again exceeding our expectations. Piper lived (comfortably) well beyond what was expected for a dog diagnosed with late stage Heart Disease. When it was her time, and she was no longer comfortable, Dr. Hartman was there to talk us through the difficult decision we had to make. She showed extreme compassion and empathy towards our family and Piper also advising us on how to handle and support our other dog, who was losing her best friend. We knew that she cared just as much as we did about Piper. She made comments about her strength and her sweet personality. As a result, we were able to say goodbye in a way that felt right for us. Dr. Hartman, Dr. Task and staff took time (after hours) to allow for the process to be private. They were so kind and thoughtful towards my entire family including our other dog. We all grieved together. It was the best possible process for an awful, but inevitable event. We are so grateful we were able to give Piper the respect and peace she deserved. They sent us a condolence note and made a donation to an Animal foundation in memory her name. In short - they are a group of exceptionally talented, generous and dedicated humans who go above and beyond. You should consider yourself fortunate if you are able to be a part of this practice.

By simply asking the tech to justify all of the charges. And the Vet pushed back on his administering the thyroid medicine and requesting that we give the cat her medicine in the AM, not her normal time, prior to dropping her off.
