This is for the power road office - Our appointment was 3:30 pm and we were not seen by a vet assistant until 4:45. Then the assistant took our dog into another area (when we wanted an in-room visit) saying the comprehensive exam & vaccines would take about 20 minutes. The assistant and the doctor finally came back at 5:38. By that time we were so angry for being held hostage by them that we just left and had the report sent to our portal. Unfortunately - the report in the portal did not spell out the findings from the "comprehensive" exam and they had failed to give our dog one of her vaccines which was overdue. - No explanation. We will not be going back to this Banfield location and once our Wellness plan expires we will no longer go to Banfield at all. read more

Will not be going back to this location anymore which is sad. We have been coming here for the last five or six years. We have spent thousands on trying to help our pet and doing all that we're told for them to just wipe their hands clean and refuse to take accountability for not finishing the work like they had assured us they would. I will be cancelling our Banfield membership after this year and go elsewhere. No more Banfield for us. I wish we never spent money here in the first place. Scheduled an immediate appointment today for 3pm as my dog is having some unusual symptoms. I took the day off from work planning to get her checked out. When it came time for the appointment, I arrived 10 minutes early to find that all the doors were locked & there was a post-it note from UPS on the door saying "Sorry we missed you" to inform me that they were closed. I was confused & walked around to the side of the building to find an unlocked entrance to no avail. Called the office line & come to find out they're closed with no notice and for no reason it seems. They accepted my appointment & actual office hours say they don't close until 6pm. i've been to other banfields that were awful and cruel to my cat. one of them left her soaking in her own urine for hours. at this banfield they really love her and care and make sure she's comfortable and treat her so kind. she's had pretty bad trauma with bad vets in the past but she acts completely different here and is so comfortable with all of the staff. thank you guys for doing what you do read more

Can I give no stars for this location? Our "home" location is in Chandler, but we had to go to Gilbert for an urgent appointment d/t no appointments in Chandler. Staff and veterinarian seemed nice, but things went downhill in the following days... First, they ordered/sent the wrong lab and of course was charged for a more expensive test. So we had to drive back (18 miles each way). They didn't want to hear about reimbursement of gas money for their mistake. I did get a refund for the lab cost difference. Staff also said the vet was busy and couldn't talk to me on the 2nd visit. And when I asked about refills on meds d/t the extended wait time caused by having to run a 2nd test, I was told again that the vet was busy and my dog should be fine. After a follow-up call days later the lab results weren't in, and we could get refills, but we had to drive out to Gilbert again! The Chandler location refused to fill the meds. Even though it is something that is easily done for humans. And finally, we go out to get the refills on Saturday and Gilbert is closed! The website, signage on door, and Yelp all say it's supposed to be open 8-5. I'll add the photo. Don't recommend this clinic and company. They clearly don't care about their customers and don't know how to properly operate a business. read more

Cali girl received her last shots yesterday & will be a free pup her soon. We will still have to come back for a fee things here & there so my review is based on the 4 times ive been in. Everyone is really sweet & they seem to love my Cali, Im not aire why but I didnt keep the same vet all the way through her shots, it would be nice to have seen the same one but thats okay. For our family dog when he would go in for shots or any exams(another vet) they do it all right there infront of you..here they make you wait in a small waiting area and they take your dog to give it shots or whatever you came in for. This is off to me, like did she get the shot? Did they take care of her well? You should have the option of comforting your pet as they are stuck with a needle. I do like that I was able to have my pets nails trimmed here as a drop in, since she wasnt fully vaccinated i didnt feel comfortable taking to a groomer but the girls here handle it for a fee. They have long hours and its great for people who work late, in my honest opinion dont take the last appt...you kinda get rushed out the door. I had to ask the girl that gave me Calis rabies cert when its safe for her to meet other dogs since she recieved her last round of shots that day. I would say to check out this location if you live close by, this one isnt as packed as most others. This location has the worst staff. Took my Australian Shepard here because he was not eating. The doctors don't seem like they care and are just trying to get you to spend money. My dog has now passed away due to late stage cancer (diagnosed with a different vet) the staff here are also incredibly rude. They constantly change appointments and don't communicate well. One of their staff members (lady with glasses) seems like she hates her job and does not want to interact with customers at all. I have a current banfield plan but will not be renewing. read more

I had two dogs plans with this hospital location. The doctor flat out lied to me and told me the next time that I came to see her for my dogs teeth while my dog was under she would remove the large cancer mass on my dogs leg. When I questioned her where it was, she told me it was the right rear leg. I let her know that I knew there was a skin tag that had been there the whole life of my dog, which is eight years old. I don't appreciate the up charging this facility. tries to do every time I brought my dogs, in. When my dog got really sick and I needed an appointment, they were five days out even though I am paying for the plan. this location is terrible. I had the most wonderful experience with this location and staff considering my circumstances. I had to bring my 17 year old cat to be put down and had no idea what to expect as this was my first pet to pass and the staff was amazing. The tech cried with me and held my cats head for me and the vet hugged me on my way out. They were kind, compassionate, patient and just overall wonderful. Highly recommend. read more

BEWARE - I have been paying for the insurance through Banfield for 9 years. For the last 2 years, they seem to go through Doctors every 6 months, and you can't build relationship with one Doctor. More frustrating is when you have to have surgery completed. I have a dog that has a cancer tumor that needs to be removed. Banfield cancelled the first surgery on me a week before the surgery date. I rescheduled with a new location after calling five locations. They scheduled me for Saturday, May 27th on Memorial Day weekend. I triple checked that they could do the surgery on Saturday since this was perfect for me, so I did not miss as much work to be home for the recovery. Today (May 19th), I get a call from Banfield telling me they can't do surgery on Saturday anymore and they want me to come in early on Tuesday, May 23rd. This means I have to take the entire week off work which I can't do. When I ask what else they can do, I am told to just call around to other locations and see what I can find, even know I did this back in March and have been waiting for May 27th almost two months. They could not care less about the inconvenience this causes. The lack of care at these locations as really deteriorated over the past 2-3 years. I would NOT recommend buying their pet insurance and using them for your vet care. Find a local vet close to you that cares and get national pet insurance instead. read more

A word of CAUTION. If you sign up for a Banfield Wellness Plan be aware that they will continue to charge you your monthly fee even after your pet dies and if your account is set on auto plan renewal they may continue to charge you each year it renews. This is true for all Banfield plans. It happened to us. It's in the fine print of the documents you sign but they usually don't mention that when you sign up. Also many many items are excluded from the plan which you must still Pay at time of visit. If all you need are teeth cleaning, vaccinations and general check ups you are usually covered. But most tests, drugs or other procedures are not covered. read more

My dog had an appointment for bloody diarrhea and Banfield canceled it and rescheduled for a later date. You'd think that would be urgent enough but nope. They don't care. I used to come to Banfield for over 8 years with 3 of my dogs. This past Aug, I came to this location to have a mass checked out in my dogs mouth. They didn't provide much for me, they just sent me home and told me to get a gauze to stop the bleeding. They retrieved a sample of the mass so they could "biopsy" the results. At this point I knew she needed a specialist help because of the amount of blood I was seeing. After a week of trying to get the results back they told me it was non cancerous and I should go to oncology. If it's not cancerous why would they refer me to oncology? Also they never provided information on where to physically go. I had to pull and pry information out of the vet to even find where to take her. I paid over 400$ for test results. I understand that the results can take up to a week but there seemed to be no urgency. I eventually asked maybe should I start at dentistry first? And asked for a list of dentists since apparently the vet wasn't even going to mention that. I'm appalled that they wouldn't have referred me to dentistry right away, considering the size, amount of blood and pain they saw my dog in. If it's something beyond your expertise then just say that and refer me somewhere that I can get help. While trying to deal with them for a week and trying to get information out of them, things got bad really fast and my dog ended up needing emergency surgery to remove half of her jaw for a tumor that was extremely aggressive AND cancerous. I wish I never wasted my time here and went to a specialist immediately. I will NEVER take my dog(s) here for an emergency or even their basic shots. I canceled all 3 of their "basic wellness plans" and will never recommend this place to anyone. They are there to sell / upgrade their wellness plan, get you in an out. Im extremely disappointed with this place. Do your research and find better care for your pets. read more
