Terrible service and a dirty environment. There is pet hair everywhere, the tables are dirty, and it looks like the place is rarely cleaned. The people there are nice at first, but the longer you are there it's like a switch flips and they start complaining. I went in to ask for some information about my dog, and I ended up overhearing them complain about me for wanting my dog's medical information. I also got my dog neutered there, and they butchered her. They cut her up almost as if she were a piece of meat. Granted, they might have been in a rush, but trained medical professionals should know how to do their job properly and efficiently. This was neither. They nicked my dog while trying to shave her, and her stitches looked terrible. I have taken my other dog to a different Banfield location, and they did not treat him this way. Vet tech at this location white lady brown hair glasses-sat at the left computer when walking in...(she seemed as if she was on some sort of power trip).... Got hella dramatic when I popped my dog on the butt (without pain) as just an attention getter without words (people were speaking) and the vet tech got comically overly dramatic look like she'd seen someone severely abuse her dog, then ask me what my problem was. First off I'm not going to justify in any way, shape or form how I discipline my pets among a lady who believes I'm an abuser before even realizing what the real case is. She should be ashamed of her self, and she should be fired from that position! Do not go here. My lovely dog Coco had car accident and needed CPR and treatment immediately. This hospital took a look and refused to do anything, but asked us to take her to ER. On the way to ER, Coco has died. If they have done CPR or any treatment, Coco would still be alive today. They refused to take any responsibility and they don't have any love of animal. I called Banfield at this location and asked for Lisa R. They said she's in corporate level and they will give my number to her, but no call or whatsoever. When my wife asked about monthly bills still being charged for Coco, they did not care about our loss, but they asked us to keep paying for remaining contract is cheaper option for us. I have no words to express my gratitude for this clinic. We bring all 3 of my dogs here for their annual check up and any issues they might be having. A couple of months ago, my frenchie stopped eating and wasn't doing great, I brought him in and we found out he had cancer he was in a lot of pain and after doing many tests we knew it was time to say goodbye. The staff was unbelievably caring and thoughtful, they supported us the entire time and one of the nurses even went to McDonalds on her lunch break to get him a burger so he could taste it before he crossed the rainbow bridge. To start off.. this place is just a run for your money.. As most of us taking our best friends to the vet .. it means we care about them .. I understand the precautions for Covid-19 but it seemed like they didn't even much care or show sympathy.. and the fact that for the first time I didn't even speak to a doctor about my pet .. just the front staff! The Katy location gave so much more support than this one.. They gave my pet medicine .. didn't even explain the possible side affects or anything .. didn't tell me he was just probably fighting an infection and it may take a few days for him to be better again.. and suggested I should probably need to go to a hospital to treat him .. because it was said that he was "high risk" because he wasn't eating .. and also added that they don't have what they need to treat him.. They did bloodwork .. and gave him a nausea shot.. Which totaled in $365 Went home and my boy seemed so lethargic , slept and hid even more .. couldn't pick his head up .. so I'm crying and thinking he got worse and just spent so much money! I take him to another hospital .. and this doctor was so caring and informative ! Gave him a steroid .. and another dose of nausea ! And also informed me that he probably seemed worse from last time because of the nausea shot he received.. (which I didn't know because Banfield didn't tell me the side affects that may occur) and that he's fighting a infection .. ! I PAID 85 DOLLARS FOR THAT. I paid 85 for my pet to feel comfortable and loved .. I paid that much for informative information on what I should also do at home to make him comfortable. It was all worth it .. I do not recommend. I will be contacting corporate today. We did monthly pet plans for our puppy and it's horrible costumer Servise. staff is very rude you walk in and they look at you there is no welcome in or will be with you shortly. They have such a nasty attitude. After the first shot we did let them know that our pup has an allergy reaction and we wanted to do a test to make sure he is not allergic. They have completely ignored what we want and gave him new set of shots we called back and they said. You can take him to the emergency room and they will find out what's going on with him. ARE YOU FOR REAL we pay nearly 80$ a month for me to hear crap like this? Bottom line they don't care about our pets. You are much better off at Brixton pet hospital much better staff. Email sent to Customer Team... My husband took our dog to your Richmond, TX location for left sided nasal swelling, drainage, warmth, and obstruction. Bloodwork was done and he was given Rx for doxycycline and renal function diet special food. When I called today, I was told no exam was documented for his nose. I was offered an appointment to bring him back in. After asking whether they would be able to perform an actual exam to determine why he has the nasal obstruction, I was placed on hold so Ashley could have someone else come help me. The second person did not introduce herself, told me a nasal exam was documented as bilateral green nasal drainage (his was unilateral) and no other nasal exam findings were documented. This person offered me only the option to drop Blue off and not to stay with him, which really caused me to become concerned. I told her I cannot as I am currently working nights and would not be able to bring him until Wednesday. I also told her I prefer to be present with him. She recommended I take him to a local emergency care clinic and stated their location is 'preventive care only'. I am seriously frustrated with the fact that my pet was treated for a condition which was not actually evaluated at a problem-based visit scheduled at a location which I am now told is only for preventive care. Ridiculous management. I stressed to LILY on the phone that my dog cannot he seen without myself or my husband who are BOTH vaccinated. My dog has fear aggression. She has been to this vet THREE times and has never had her mouth checked yet I'm paying for full exams.i was told yes i can be in the room I asked over and over again to confirm I could be in the room. Yet again they want to muzzle my dog which I've stressed makes the situation worse. If I would be in the room the situation would be much different. Zero rating. I just left Banfield Cinco South for the last time! I have taken 8 of my dogs here over the last 13 years and will never take any of them back. I just made the difficult decision that it was time to euthanize my 16 year old dog. We made the appointment for 2:00 and when we arrived we were sent to the euthanasia room where we were greeted by an employee asking what we were here for today. That's when I should have left! I said we were here to euthanize our dog and she proceeded to ask me how the medicine they put her on 2 days prior had worked. I said we are here to euthanize so her question was quite stupid. She explained that they would take our dog to get a catheter put in and then bring her back to the room. Over 30 minutes passed and we began asking where she was. The staff we encountered was very unsympathetic and to be honest quite robotic with there response to our concern. Our dog was finally brought back to us along with the arrival of the most uncaring, unsympathetic vet I have ever met. She looked liked she was irritated to have to be at work on a Sunday! Dr.Dilraj Dhami then proceeded to attempt to inject the first solution to relax the dog first and followed by the injection into the catheter of the solution to stop the heart. There was absolutely no caring or comments about what was happening. I assumed it had been administered and asked if I could hold my dog now. She said in a very uncaring way yes. It was then she told me that nothing had been injected due to a faulty catheter. She then plopped her body in a chair in the corner and stared at us!!! I asked what was going on and she just stared at me and said they would have to redo the catheter. She just sat there staring at us. I was getting so upset as was my husband and son and daughter. She continued to sit there and do nothing as I am holding my sick dog. She said they have to redo it and I said what are you doing just sitting there?!?! She then asked if we would like to take our pet somewhere else!!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?! At this point a girl from the front desk with brown hair and thick black glasses came in to tell us if we didn't calm down we would have to leave. I apologized for using swear words but at this point who wouldn't be swearing!!!! This was so traumatic I can't even believe it! Finally, a wonderful girl with blue hair came in and told us how sorry she was for what was happening and explained what we needed to do. I'm so sorry I didn't get her name because she was the only caring person there that day. They finally took our baby to the back and had to euthanize her via jugular. I am so sad, angry, traumatized by this entire day. I lost my baby and they made it horrific!!!! I will not continue to use them for my other 2 dogs and I pray no one ever has to be treated like we were today. read more

Do not go here. I've had two recent experience that have made me rethink about taking my pets to Banfield. The first: I had called in to request a refill on my dogs Galliprant. Instead of looking at my dogs chart and noticing my dog is on 60mg the vet gave us 50mg. My dog ended up limping around in pain because of their negligence. Then, when I called in to explained the error the vet made I was told that I "don't know what I'm talking about". No, they just didn't read his chart. Which by the way is the first thing you learn in veterinary and medical school. If it were dealing with a human patient I'd be contacting a medical malpractice lawyer for his negligence. The second: The same pet also has bad allergies. So he's been on Apoquel for a while. Well, every time we go in there they try and talk us into getting him the allergy shot (Cytopoint). We were told numerous times that it's the better option because "it'll last 4 to 12 weeks and it's only around $100". They wrote it in our paperwork, I have it recorded from phone calls! We went in on Sept 11th to get the shot done. It didn't even last 7 days! By the 17th he had already developed a rash. I called this hospital and was told "the branch manager will contact you later today". She didn't even call until the 27th! They are refusing to credit our account the money we paid for the shot by changing their story and saying "there's no guarantee the Cytopoint will last longer than a day"?! Apoquel is $60 a month! Who in their right mind would spent $100 a day for an allergy shot rather than spending $60 for a month. Their thought process doesn't even make sense! So my guess is that they're receiving kick-backs for prescribing certain meds. I've contacted corporate Banfield who gave me a banfieldcares email to file my complaint with them because even the customers service I spoke to over the phone told me "these situations should not have happened". read more

I think I'm done with this clinic as well. It was great since it is literally within walking distance but like everyone else stated ... I can't get an appointment. They blow up your phone (like multiple times a day to get you scheduled, but then keep rescheduling you once they have you). What a waste of time and unnecessary frustration. And don't bother trying to book online because that doesn't work either. They'll just call to say they don't have that time and thus restarts the crappy process of rescheduling you. And NO I don't want to leave my dog. I have two rescues and one was very abused. That's the last thing I want to do. I want to be with her when she is being seen. Always brought my pets to this Banfield location on Fry rd only because we like one specific Vet that works there, staff however NEEDS professional training as they do not know how to speak to costumers AT ALL! When spoke to supposedly manager Anna she didn't help either and I asked her what was the name of the girl that spoke to me as I did not want her to helping me whenever I come there she said she can't give me her name, well Anna I do not want to deal with your employees that has no manners and I choose not to be helped by someone like that. That employee for sure showed her mean side by the way she spoke and when I called back and asked if she is the same lady I spoke to a minute ago she just put me on hold. I guess I'm not surprised as Anna herself was super rude to me on multiple occasions when they were located at petsmart on 5574 SH-99 Toll S very dissapointed in the way I was treated by Banfield staff and would not recommend it to anyone as service there is "0" stars!!! I think it's time to find a new place for my pets as their health is not being taken into consideration as it should be!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR $ on a wellness plan when you can't even be seen when your animal is sick. This is the WORST vet I've ever felt with & I've had animals all my life. I've taken my dog to Banfield in Arizona for years with no issues, but when I moved to Texas & started going to this location which is the closest to me by far it's been a HORRIBLE experience. Have a sick dog that needs to be seen today? Too bad they will turn you away because they are unwilling & unable to accommodate. *They are ALWAYS booked -You have to wait 2-3 weeks for an appointment which is pointless! Why do I pay for a wellness plan that's main selling point is they offer no charge exams to see your pet when necessary. * The Dr. Does Everything in the back - I've made it very clear that I want the exam, shots etc done in front of me, & they continue to take her to the back. Most recently they said it was only for the anal gland expression but came back & said she was all done. * Very poor customer service - My dog got shots there, had a bad reaction but nothing that was an emergency just not feeling 100% & Dr. Nunez refused to see my dog. Insisting I take her to an emergency vet. Then the Dr. Refused to get on the phone with me to explain why I couldn't simply take her in. - When I call with a question the receptionist says she will put me through to someone who can answer my question then the poor girl gets back in the phone relaying what someone is telling her to say. No one ever gets on the phone to assist me, even if I leave a message. I have NEVER received a call back. *They are understaffed I've waited upwards of 30 min in line to pick up my dog or pay, it's ridiculous. They never have enough Techs to answer questions & the staff in the front are untrained. *Always a different Dr., they are constantly changing. -I've only seen the same vet 2 times & that was years ago. Since then I've seen random Dr.'s who seem less inclined to answer questions & their answer to everything is "Go to the emergency clinic" Save your time, money & sanity & find a vet that is actually able to see your pet in a reasonable amount of time & that loves animals. read more

I will update this post tomorrow after my little Willie has his teeth cleaned, but I really felt I needed to say some thing after reading all of these ridiculous reviews. The majority of them are from people that have a problem with their pricing. You can ask questions when you sign up for the wellness program so if you don't and only find out, what it costs when something comes up then that's on you. I usually go to the location on Fry Road but they don't have a surgeon until March. They are great to my pets, but I was not satisfied when I asked where else I should go as far as another location so I called Cinco Ranch south. The person that answered the phone apologized for how dismissive they were and told me to come in for a consultation. So I made an appointment to meet with a doctor to make sure I would be comfortable. My GPS took me to their old location so even though I was 15 minutes late, they still made time for the consultation. The lobby was clean. The doctor was very nice. The staff at the desk definitely seemed young and maybe don't realize how greeting somebody at the counter when we walk in can put someone at ease, especially if they have never been there before, but they were nice. It's super disappointing to see the vets office with such a low rating when the complaints are about money or are from people that admit to not filling out the paperwork properly. There are those of us that are looking at reviews for a caring and knowledgeable staff. My kids are both 10 years old. They have been on the wellness plan since they were eight weeks old. It has saved us thousands and thousands of dollars. We never miss an appointment and I have never had a problem with anything they have charged me for that was above and beyond the included services. But just like going in today to look at the facility, meet the staff and doctor before ever scheduling an appointment for the service, I also read my contract when I signed up. A year ago I started the wellness plan for one of my dogs. I took him for a dental cleaning and paid for dental x-rays because he had awful teeth and smell. 2 months after the cleaning his teeth and smell were awful again. I took him in a few times over the next year to figure out why he smelt so bad. They kept telling me he needed his teeth cleaned again. So 2 months ago I renewed the wellness plan for another year and got the teeth cleaned again. Last week I took him in because, again, his teeth are bad and his smell is awful. The Vet I spoke with was a temp for the day and the first person to actually explain my dog needed extractions and that's why his teeth are getting bad so quick and smell returning. I had asked why the teeth that needed it, didn't get extracted, and she referred me to the receptionist who tells me I denied the x-rays, she confirmed the vet didn't leave notes of recommending the extractions, or notes about me denying the x-ray, it was just marked that I denied it at drop off. Office manager called me days later to tell me she was working on looking into this. Then a couple days later the Vet that did his cleaning called me and told me I denied the x-ray so she couldn't tell which needed extractions (but the temp vet I spoke to days before said she could tell there were about 4-6 that should have been extracted). I told the Vet that if she was in cleaning why wouldn't see call and tell me she really recommended the x-ray. I didn't not deny the x-ray, why would I deny it when I've been trying for a year to get his teeth/smell fixed? Seems someone just marked that I, but even if I did I should have received a call of what they were seeing once cleaning, hit vet said "we denied it so we don't want to call and ask the same question again" then rudely told me we were talking in circles and it was my fault I denied the x-ray. So now I'm stuck on ANOTHER year plan and problem still not resolved because someone says I denied x-rays and the vet didn't want to call me to explain anything during the surgery. Also receptionist said vet didn't even put notes in about recommendations. Office manager still hasn't called me back and I have called a couple times and not able to get anyone on the phone. I would never recommend or take my animals here. I was trying with one dog, so I could get my other 2 on the plan too, but I'm glad I started with one, and not paying for all 3. This is by far the WORST veterinary experience I've ever had. I had high hopes for Banfield Pet Hospital since I trust the Petsmart brand and recommendation but I was wrong. My yorkie was acting out of the ordinary, having some urniary issues and hadn't eaten or drank in several days. I took him to this location and the doctor kept asking me what I thought was wrong with him and what I would like to do. In my opinion this was very unprofessional as I'm paying to seek the doctors advice for a reason. I felt as if the visit was very rushed and uncaring, but they diagnosed him with a UTI and charged me almost $400 just for that. My dog wasn't feeling any better after the medication so I took him to another Veterinary Clinic and found out not only did he have a UTI, but he also had kidney stones, early kidney disease, and enlarged bladder and some other serious concerns which prevented him from urninating and eating for 1 week! My visit with the other clinic was HALF the price of what I paid for at Banfield, and they actually took their time and spent hours even days diagnosing and treating him until he was healthy. The environment was very caring unlike the terrible experience at Banfield which was rushed and unwelcoming. My dog underwent surgery, and now is no longer in pain, but I can't even imagine what would have happened if I had left his condition untreated just because the doctors at Banfield did not want fo do their job. They spent more time trying to convince me to get on a wellness plan than actually examining my dog. I will not be returning to this location as i'm utterly disappointed with the services & if you truly care about the well being of your dog I do not recommend this Vet. Hopefully someone from customer service reaches out to me or I will be going back to discuss my concerns. read more

I wrote a review a few months back about our experience and it got deleted I wonder why they don't want people writing the truth and what goes on here. They have so many bad claims on B.B.B! Check that out before you think about going here. My dog had huge bladder stones for years and we were untold of this when we have the wellness plan and it requires to do pee exam every 6 months. She had to go into the ER and get emergency surgery which costs us a lot and the dr there was so shocked that they hadn't found these in her pee tests they were supposed to be doing! Banfield kept saying there was nothing wrong with my girl when she was in a lot of pain not moving. My other dog had an issue with her nose it was getting so swollen they kept saying nothing was wrong charging me for necessary things they were "trying" and ended up saying she got pricked by a rose bush. Again we took her to another clinic and they ended up saying she was hypo allergic to something and put her on meds which have no helped SO much! These people don't care about pets just money. I wanted to cancel my plan since all these issues were happening and they never had an apt to see them so what am I paying for? They didn't let me after getting hung up by the manager Anna and being placed on hold for 30 mins because she had other people to help I was fed up. I saw a few times people going up to the store and cussing them out with similar issues! Their excuse is we are short staff someone called in or someone is moving so we have no drs. Before all these issues my dogs had surgery schedule to be spayed I went up there at 6:50am and they ended up saying that the dr called in so we had to reschedule for different dates each one of them which I made the apt 6 months in advance for that reason to be on the same day! This place has been a serious nightmare and truly a traumatizing experience. If I saw the same vet twice I would be happy. I must say that most the vets I have seen have been helpful and done a good job with my dog I just got tired of having to explain what is going on with my dog over and over. Also I had to renew some medication for my dog and I tried to do so for over a week with no luck. Then when I went to my new vet no problem got it and also found out that my old dog had arthritis he is now getting some shots for this and two shots down the road he is feeling better. I wont say don't go here because they are doing a good job, I just want to say be aware of what you get and make sure that you wish to go here before you sign up for a wellness plan. I had one and now that I wanted to close it up after almost three years they are like you have to pay all they way to November so that was over $ 200 to close up the account and I really didn't feel I got that much our of having the plan. read more
