    Counter in the food court

It's so hard to rate a place when the food is actually pretty good but the service could really use a huge improvement. This review is more of a 2.5 stars kind of deal although I do understand that they are a pretty new establishment so they're still working out operational difficulties. I visited on a Wednesday at lunch and it was quite a long wait. Almost half an hour for our order which consisted of four different dogs, chicken, and fries. It seemed like they only had a few fryers to work with so it might have been a little bit difficult to get the dogs out fast. One of the most disturbing parts of our wait was that the employee that was preparing our food was wearing the most oversized mask I've ever seen on someone. It kept slipping below her nose which I feel like happens a lot but it was so big that it would slip below her mouth. She also didn't seem too concerned about pulling up her mask. All the other employees were able to wear a mask successfully so I'm not sure what happened there. This particular employee was also having a bit of a fit while they were preparing different orders. They were frustrated throwing their gloves, shaking their head, and overall just having a bad time. We did have a nice interaction with another employee though. You can get seasonings and different sauces on your dogs. They do have quite a variety so we deferred to him to top our dogs for us and he gave great recommendations and even checked with other employees to come up with the optimal experience for us. The food turned out to be pretty decent. The outside breading of the dogs were crispy. I'm pretty basic so I think I enjoyed the dog with the potato bits on the outside the best although this sweet potato one was also pretty good, being both sweet and salty. There was one dog where it was cheese and hot dog alternating and since we wound up splitting that one some people got only cheese and only hot dog so just be aware of that if you're planning to share. I'd like to say that I could give this place another chance but if I saw that employee still working there I would definitely steer clear. Also if there's already a few people waiting there it's going to take you a long time to get your food so maybe do it if you're not in a rush.

Finally some Asian food in Pickering and is inside the Pickering town centre. Tried the pogo with mozzarella cheese and sausage and volcano chicken burger combo A bit pricy compare to McDonald's but worth for a try.

THE LOBSTER ROLL IS EMBARRASSING. Was hoping it at least slightly resembled the menu picture. 15.99$ for this is terrible. DON'T DO IT. Would have returned it, if I didn't take it home before opening. The bang bang crunch and the corn dogs are great.

I'm so happy to see more cool Asian eats in Pickering and this place doesn't disappoint. The food is great and the service is great as well. The Korean corn dogs are a must have! Definitely coming back here :)

Great food. For fried. But worth the calories there's so many options to choose from. It's now a franchise so they are opening everywhere

There were 2 basic tables and 2 friendly staff greeted us. Since it was our first time there, we wanted to try their original fried chicken. The combos here were very well priced considering the cost of everything nowadays, and we scored this 4 pc meal for something like $12ish. The chicken was decent, but a bit too oily for my taste and I didn't love seeing all the dark veins close to the bone when I bit into the drum. The Cajun fries was addictive but we didn't give their biscuit as it was more doughy than flaky. Overall, a decent option for fried chicken if you're in the area.

The employee who was taking orders and preparing the food had very long, dirty fingernails. Since he was handling both customers and food, it didn't seem hygienic and honestly made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to mention it to him at the time, but the restaurant was very busy with many customers waiting for their orders, and I didn't want to embarrass him in front of everyone. Food hygiene should be one of the highest priorities for any restaurant. I hope the management addresses this issue and ensures that all staff maintain proper personal hygiene, including keeping their nails short and clean, for the safety and confidence of customers.

This AI helps: Sort and analyze complaints Detect patterns (e.g., common issues) Speed up resolution times (reportedly improved by 50%+) So AI is helping internally, not necessarily talking to you directly. I am writing to formally document the issues we experienced during our visit to the Jollibee Ajax location. Our order came out to be like 164.94$ after taxes. We came to pick up the food and get on the road. I wanted to eat there so that the food would be fresh and hot. The only good thing that was hot was the chicken. The Angus burger was served cold and dry. We also ordered 24 pieces of Jolly Chicken -- 12 regular and 12 spicy --, but the buckets were not labelled or distinguished in any way. When I approached a staff member to ask which buckets were spicy, she initially pointed to a toothpick that was not there. I had to insist before she checked the receipt, consulted the manager, and corrected the order. Additionally, fries were missing from one of the combos. The manager, who was responsible for dispatching and packing the order, never acknowledged the mistake or offered an apology. Neither did any other staff member. That was not the reaction a manager should be having. They should be taking care of it themselves and apologizing for the error on their part. The thing that really makes me feel like we are not guests at the location is that we are just a number with $$$ on top of our heads. We were ready to take the order and go. If we did, there would be a lot more upset people who gave money to taste the food. We would have turned back to drive all the ways there. For sure, there will definitely be a huge complaint. Surprisingly, there were no apologies from the staff either. Funny thing is, I was doing a review of the food and service. It probably won't be that great due to the circumstances. I told myself not to post anything, maybe he can do a review another time after we speak to them. I guess not. During our wait for our food, a white Caucasian man said I do not usually do this and it's my first time here, but my burger inside was cold. I'm sure your manager on duty can recall this complaint. How can we ensure that this situation does not happen to anyone else, and what steps will you take to make things right? It has now been 12 days without any response or communication from the store. This is incredibly disappointing. Even with advanced technologies like AI, they still do not reach out to their customers after 12 days and counting. They should take an example from McDonald's, which is known for effectively addressing customer complaints.

For ages, we passed by Big M, noting its classic retro vibe and steady flow of customers. For years, we brushed off the recommendations of Pickering friends, but now, we have finally decided to stop by for a burger. There is outdoor seating only, so in the winter, Big M is a take-out only restaurant. Nevertheless, it was doing a brisk business at 6:00 on a Saturday. We each ordered Banquet Burgers (cheese and bacon). My husband and daughter ordered fries; I went for onion rings. They also each ordered a milkshake. Our opinion was united in that the burgers, shakes, fries and onion rings were exactly what the traditional, retro décor would lead us to expect. You'll not find surprising toppings or artisanal brioche buns at Big M, nor will you encounter the trending smash-burger. Rather, Big M succeeds because it delivers a fantastic version of the sort of burger that your Dad or Grandpa might have grilled up, or the burgers from that retro diner that you parents may or may not have dropped by on their way to the cottage that your family may or may not have visited or owned. Even if these weren't part of your childhood experiences, Big M serves up great traditional fare. Our burgers were made to order as we watched, and had a pleasantly browned and smoky finish, flame-licked by the grill, fresh, tasty toppings. The burger patty itself was neither thick nor thin, but classic 1/2 inch or so. The toasted Kaiser roll stayed crispy, and survived the trip home without getting soggy. The onion rings were the old fashioned, somewhat ponderous kind, as opposed to a lighter tempura style batter, and I relied on my husband to finish eating them on my behalf. But that substantial batter was exactly the right choice to pair with a traditional burger. The shakes were also traditional milk shakes, as opposed to, simply, "shakes", which may or may not contain actual milk or ice cream. The take-away: Big M is what it appears to be, a classic diner offering simple, diner-style fare. As such, it delivers a satisfying meal that more than meets the expectations: words like retro, traditional and home-style spring to mind. If you are in search of a trending, cheffy and possibly pricy experience (and I do tend to flock to those, when budget permits!), then Big M is probably not for you. However, for well-executed, basic, down to earth cooking, Big M serves up an excellent retro experience at a reasonable price. I'll be back to try the Whistle Dog (cheese and bacon) and the Canadian burger (Cheese and Peameal), plus another order of those indulgent onion rings.

I've tried the onion rings, poutine and fries and they're all GREAT. Although make sure you hydrate because I did feel the effects of having a salty lunch afterwards The diner calls themselves a "drive-in" but it's more of an outdoor diner/to-go place. Most of the seating is outdoors and picnic table style. The service was wondering. Everyone is really nice and you feel welcome going here.
