I'd give this prob a 2.5-3 stars. Pros - chicken looked delicious and smelled mouthwatering - packaging was pretty too - staff was friendly Cons - didn't taste mouthwatering :( it was alright only . After our first experience at Bang Bang Korean Crunch went so horribly the owner reached out to me and invited me back with a discount to give them another try. With the first visit clearly in our minds my cousin and I were a bit skeptical but wanted to give them a second chance to redeem themselves. We went in the early afternoon on a weekday and there weren't any other customers waiting in line or for orders. We ordered the cheese dog and this time we had the hot dog in our hands in less than 5 minutes. This was a vast improvement from the first time. We got the spicy sauce to go with it. Turns out the spicy sauce is not spicy at all. It just tased like flavoured mayo. The cheese in the hot dog was nice and gooey and almost filled up completely. read more

I love crispy Korean Fried Chicken so I was looking forward to trying this new place in the food court of Pickering Town Centre I ordered the Bang Bang Crunch, boneless chicken served with fries. It took almost 20 minutes for my order to be prepared but, hopefully it will have been worth the wait. Unfortunately, it was not. Although the chicken looked nice and crispy, it was kinda soggy and greasy. It didn't help that the thin cut fries were also soggy and greasy. This was not a very appetizing meal. It's so hard to rate a place when the food is actually pretty good but the service could really use a huge improvement. This review is more of a 2.5 stars kind of deal although I do understand that they are a pretty new establishment so they're still working out operational difficulties. I visited on a Wednesday at lunch and it was quite a long wait. Almost half an hour for our order which consisted of four different dogs, chicken, and fries. It seemed like they only had a few fryers to work with so it might have been a little bit difficult to get the dogs out fast. One of the most disturbing parts of our wait was that the employee that was preparing our food was wearing the most oversized mask I've ever seen on someone. It kept slipping below her nose which I feel like happens a lot but it was so big that it would slip below her mouth. She also didn't seem too concerned about pulling up her mask. All the other employees were able to wear a mask successfully so I'm not sure what happened there. This particular employee was also having a bit of a fit while they were preparing different orders. They were frustrated throwing their gloves, shaking their head, and overall just having a bad time. We did have a nice interaction with another employee though. You can get seasonings and different sauces on your dogs. They do have quite a variety so we deferred to him to top our dogs for us and he gave great recommendations and even checked with other employees to come up with the optimal experience for us. The food turned out to be pretty decent. The outside breading of the dogs were crispy. I'm pretty basic so I think I enjoyed the dog with the potato bits on the outside the best although this sweet potato one was also pretty good, being both sweet and salty. There was one dog where it was cheese and hot dog alternating and since we wound up splitting that one some people got only cheese and only hot dog so just be aware of that if you're planning to share. I'd like to say that I could give this place another chance but if I saw that employee still working there I would definitely steer clear. Also if there's already a few people waiting there it's going to take you a long time to get your food so maybe do it if you're not in a rush. read more

I was surprised to see Korean hot dogs at Pickering town centre but sure glad we did! It's not often that you can find an Asian snack food at the mall so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Korean hot dog with potato. The ordering part was smooth overall as we did not have to wait long on a weekday late afternoon. The cooking part did take longer than expected. The food itself, was okay. We've definitely had better and bigger. The spicy mayo wasn't spicy which is how I like it so no complaints there! The hot dog was crunchy and yummy even after a short drive to where we were staying so not bad for this unexpected snack treat Will I be back? Sure thing, but only when I make a visit to this particular mall! read more

Visited inside the pickering town centre mall and noticed this establishment and wanted to give this place a try. The attendant was quite helpful in assisting us with the popularity of certain items. We ordered the following: Yam Yum-Half Inside cheese/hot dog-$7 - You can pick your sauces so we went with ori, mayo...Wife ate the top half which was mainly gooey mozzarella cheese and the bottom half is mainly the hot dog with no cheese. The outer shell was sweet potato bit with a slight crunch. Bang Bang Volcano Chicken Burger-$9 - On a soft bun with a slaw on top and fried chicken thigh i presume. This is what they're known for. The volcano sauce is not that spicy even for non-spicy tolerant people. Cheese Bang Fries-$6 - Theres parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese melted, jalapeno bits, bacon bits.. - The fries are the thin ones that can only taste decent when eaten hot; otherwise, the fries get stall fast and the texture is not that good then. Overall, given the price point of spending close to $25, it'll be a bit too much for one person, but not that much for two people. Their fried chicken sandwich I'd say is their best option! I placed an order off Skip the Dishes. I ordered the bones less chicken and an order of bang, bang wings. The owner called me after the order that they currently don't have the wings. I had to substitute the wings for a bang bang chicken burger with secret sauce. The boneless chicken was crunchy and they offered a range of dipping sauces. Honey mustard, sweet chilli, Mayo and secret sauce. The fries were shoe string but fries don't travel well. But the chicken was excellent. The chicken sandwich was tasty with some slight heat. I loved the slaw on top. Decent bun. As an add-on the owner gave me a free hot dog for the next time. Of that they can be certain. Great chicken. read more

The food at Bang Bang Korean Crunch is awesome. I've been here three times already. The first time, I had the Korean Fried Chicken. It's the best I ever had. It's hot, juicy, and so delicious. It comes in a sweet and spicy sauce, but you can choose your flavours. I really liked that it's boneless too. I went back and got the Korean style corn dog. It was so good too. You also get to choose your seasonings and sauces. Believe it or not, I got it with some sugar, because that's how the Koreans like it - sweet and savoury. However, be advised that they make each one fresh, so you might have to wait a few minutes for yours. It's worth the wait though. It comes out piping hot and fresh. I also tried their Korean style lobster roll. They had a promotion on it, but it's back to regular price now. The lobster is unique, because it's lightly battered to give it a bit of a crunch. I read the other reviews and it seems the issues were mostly employee related or growing pains (long wait). I went today with my family and the food took maybe 5 minutes only and was very very delicious. We ordered 3 different dogs and a crunchy sandwich. They were all crunchy , hot and tasty. Living in stouffville , I appreciate when small Asian businesses try to open and I think you should try them out if you like fried chicken . They are significantly better than KFC in my opinion. read more

Long wait times even though we ordered online in advance. A portion of our order was ready and had to wait for the Korean Hotdog. The fried chicken and burger was a little bit soggy sitting the sauce. Staff were all very nice but seemed a bit lost and disorganized. read more

Gave this place a second try after the first time was disappointing. Unfortunately, the same issues came up the second time. Very long wait for the Volcano boneless chicken - 20 minutes is not acceptable in a food court. This could be reduced by having smaller portions at a lower price. Moreover, the chicken is served on top of the fries, squishing them into mashed potato. The box it comes in is too small and there is sauce all over the top of it. The bag they put it in is too large. And finally, I am offended that a tip is suggested in advance of service - and while we are on the subject, what service? You cook the chicken and put it in a bag. That is what the $14.99 price is for. You don't bring it to my table, nor do you clean up after me and bring my tray back. Why do you force people through a tip screen - and one that goes up to 30%, when there is no service and the wait is interminably long? As for the chicken, it's just Ok.
