My boyfriend and I are still on our road trip and today we decided to stop in Helen, Georgia --…read morethis super charming and historic little German-style town in the mountains. Unfortunately it was raining SO much that we couldn't really walk around and explore the town, so I searched for somewhere close to our hotel to have dinner. We ended up at Bangkok Haus Restaurant and honestly... what a good decision that turned out to be. The restaurant serves Thai food and sushi in this really cozy, relaxing atmosphere, which honestly felt perfect after being stuck in the rain all day. The restaurant itself is super cute inside and beautifully decorated, making it feel warm and welcoming the second you walk in. We decided to go all in on sushi rolls and started with two beers: a Thai Chang beer and a Japanese Asahi. Both were super light, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the sushi. I also ordered a miso soup because honestly... there's just something so comforting about starting dinner with warm miso soup to settle your stomach. For rolls we ordered the Eel Roll, the Lady of Dawn, and the M16 roll. The Eel Roll was rich, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced with that buttery eel texture and eel sauce. The Lady of Dawn roll was super fresh and flavorful with the perfect combination of crunchy and creamy textures. And the M16 roll? SO good. Packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and honestly one of those rolls where every bite tastes different in the best way possible. I later saw online that people rave about the M16 roll too, and now I completely understand why. The service was also super friendly and fast, which we appreciated so much after a long rainy day on the road. Honestly, if you're visiting Helen and want a break from all the German food everywhere, this is SUCH a great option. Amazing sushi, comforting Thai food, good service, and a really beautiful atmosphere.

Honestly the best food in Helen. Alex is a great bartender and waiter. Very clean restaurant…read more Highly recommended.

This was our first trip in to Rabun Social…read more We were greeted and seated immediately by an energetic young man. We found RS to be an attraction for families with children, especially in the area with low-top tables. On the day we visited, children of various ages were running back & forth to the restroom, standing in the walkways, yelling, crying, etc. If yours is an adult party, I recommend you sit at the high-top tables, which are in a separate area. Our waiter, though he seemed detached, was knowledgeable and helpful concerning food sensitivities. Because they do not have GF bread or buns, and use gluten-containing ingredients in their sushi and soups, I ordered a smash burger with no bun, and a side of vegetables. This was very tasty; I ate every bite of the burger. Hubby ordered the California Roll. I was unable to taste these, as the imitation crab has gluten-containing ingredients as a binder. Even though RS does not have many GF options, I would return just for that burger!

We also ordered the bourbon chicken fried rice. The flavor was not that great and it was SOOOO SALTY. Our friends are traveling with us and I already recommended they not eat here.

Rabun Social - Cool vibe. On the other side of the bar there are big windows that open to the outside. Outside there is seating for the bar. Very cool!

Sushi burrito that had shrimp. It was outstanding. I also got another sushi roll with tuna that was excellent. The Spicy Shrimp broth had that perfect kick without completely torching your face (I got it "medium" spicy and it was spot-on). Tons of plump shrimp, soft-boiled egg cooked perfectly, and the noodles had great texture. My partner stole half my bowl, so that tells you everything. The Rock and Roll roll was a total highlight--crispy shrimp tempura, avocado, spicy mayo, and that sweet eel sauce drizzle on top... it's basically disappeared in 60 seconds. Super fresh fish, generous portions, and the rice was seasoned just right. Service was quick and friendly, the place is clean, and the vibe is chill but not sleepy. Prices felt totally fair for the quality and amount of food you get. Already planning my next visit--Zen Ramen just became my go-to spot in Gainesville. Highly recommend!

We tried three specialty rolls and one cooked roll, and everything tasted really fresh. The miso soup was authentic and comforting, and the cucumber salad had a fun, unique presentation. The edamame was simple but done right -- fresh, not soggy. It's not a super fancy place, but we actually like that. The service was fast, and the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. We're newer to the area from NJ and still on the hunt for real, delicious sushi for our date nights, and this spot definitely hit the mark. We'll be back for more sushi soon.

I really wanted to love this place since it had a lot of good reviews but NOTHING was good…read more The Ginger salad dressing was runny & sweet. The salad had too much shreeded carrots and cabbage, and needed more lettuce (looks like coleslaw mix)-not worth $5 The Miso soup was not hot (lukewarm) with no flavor. The Broth was weak. More than half of the menu options are spicy. It was Cold inside & we didn't have a definite server. Both girls kept waiting on us which kind of got annoying because both of them would ask over and over if you were ready to order and then both of them brought the check. The Double tiger sushi was roll kinda fishy tasting (crab meat) and the shrimp looked raw. It was $1.50 extra for cream cheese The chicken Katsu came with the sauce already on it so then it's soggy if you wanna eat it later, but without it, it really had no flavor. Overall, it was not a great experience and I felt like it was a waste of $50.
