This was the first and last time I will eat here. To start with I asked for hot tea. I received a small cup with a tea bag priced at $2.95. The waitress said she was taking that off the receipt. They didn't have the sushi I wanted and was told that they really never had it because people just didn't order it. Okay, I opted for the California Roll. It was okay; nothing spectacular. The Hibachi Steak and Shrimp along with plain rice with a little soy (what was supposed to have been fried rice) was horrible and canned carrots. I've never been to a Japanese restaurant that everything was disposable; from the silver to the styrofoam cups and plastic plates. When I checked out the lady asked how was everything? Ordered the Japanese Bagel Roll. The salmon was not smoked salmon and was raw. On top of that the salmon cut was disgusting and was unchewable. It left a horrible taste in my mouth! I will be bring back to the restaurant when they open tomorrow to request a refund! read more

By all appearances, you'd think it was delicious, but it wasn't. I almost thought I had covid because it was tasteless. It was sweet, but that was it. They failed to drain the angel hair pasta well, so it was all floating around on a plastic disposable plate. The 3 forks broke 3 times and I had to try to pick through it all to find the bits of plastic. Not a positive experience. The staff was very nice and apologetic but the experience isn't worth a second attempt, so we won't be back. read more

The sushi chef did do a great job on my Country Road Roll and closer to the end of our dining experience, a knowledgeable waiter stepped in to help us but if it weren't for that, this would be a 2 star review. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant was not up to par. And honestly...watching and listening to the staff was comical and unprofessional. If you like to be treated with respect as a customer, and a human being, do not eat at Yoshi Express. My friends and I went to Cleveland for a birthday weekend and tried out Yoshi Express for dinner yesterday. We decided to have the order delivered through Grubhub, but called and spoke with a restaurant employee to confirm that they received our rather large order and let them know about a dietary restriction one of the ladies had. Once our order arrived, we realized one sushi, the rainbow roll, was missing. I called the restaurant to let them know the situation, fully anticipating, and happily willing, to drive to the restaurant to get the missing roll. A lady answered the phone and I let her know what had happened. She told another lady who then loudly said "give me the phone." A restaurant employee by the name of Mary got on the phone with me and I again explained we did not receive one of our rolls. The first thing Mary said to me is "No. You're wrong. You did not order the rainbow roll." I told her that both the Grubhub receipt, as well as my bank account, did confirm that we had ordered the sushi. The next seven minutes of the conversation turned into Mary screaming over me with every word I said. I could not get one word out without her yelling over me about being wrong. I have worked in restaurants before and just like how I began this conversation with Mary, I am never rude about my food orders being wrong because there is almost always an easy solution that both the restaurant and the customer are happy with. Maybe there was a glitch with the ordering system and Mary really couldn't see the rainbow roll we ordered...but Mary also could have just asked me to come by the restaurant and show her the receipt for the rainbow roll so that we could get this resolved. I did not deserve to be treated with such disrespect by Mary. When I tell you that I am not exaggerating about how I was treated, please believe me. Or you can read the previous Yelp reviews from customers that had similar situations. Even if Yoshi Express had the best food ever, if Mary is the owner, this restaurant is doomed. If Mary is an employee, she may need to find a different profession more fitting for her...personality. read more

There was a very young boy working hard on this severely understaffed night. We saw multiple times where he was borderline verbally abused by the man making sushi and the other lady that was waiting tables. It really was not a good environment to eat dinner. Not to mention, we tried to order sushi but was told the wait was ~40 minutes for one roll. I understand it was busy, but why continue to offer it? I don't foresee this place lasting much longer and maybe that's for the best. read more

If your looking for food of this sort just go to sunflower. You lucky to be able to get anyone at Yoshi to answer the phone. Or for the pick up time to be right on the rare occasion they do pick up. Normally I wouldn't eat here but it's what my girlfriend wanted so the exception was made. That was my mistake. Placed the order and arrived 25-30 mins later to pick the food up. When I did. A good sushi place in Cleveland Georgia! I don't think I ever expected to say that. However, this is a very good sushi restaurant. They also serve hibachi and according to the manager they will soon be serving soups as well. My wife and I have been here twice since we found it and have enjoyed ourselves both times. They have several specialty rolls. All the ones we've tried are good. My wife is not a big fan of spicy food and we found out accidentally that unlike some sushi restaurants when they say spicy they mean spicy. Also, if you are not into raw sushi several of the specialty rolls have tempera fish instead of raw fish. If you're in Cleveland Georgia give this restaurant a try. It is an excellent choice for both dinner and lunch. read more

My fiancé and I went in here for sushi, and were told to sit anywhere and they would come to us. After waiting about 5 minutes, a (very sweet) server asked us if we wanted refills, we hadn't even been asked for drinks yet or received menus lol. So she got us those, and we were looking at the sushi menu because that's all we really came for. The server did forewarn us that it was gunna be about 45 mins for sushi because the lady making it was pretty backed up. We decided that was fine, we'd get some appetizers while we waited. So after about 10 mins of us deciding what we wanted, she server came back and then said they were out of sushi rice all of a sudden. (I'm sure she was just told to tell customers that so I don't blame her because I also asked a different worker if they were out of sushi rice and she said no, but the lady was just really backed up and wanted them to stop taking orders) that was pretty annoying though, so we had to look at the menu again. We then decided on hibachi because what else. We both ordered shrimp and scallop, but received shrimp and chicken. I mentioned it to the waitress but said we would just eat it (didn't feel like waiting for a remake) and she was apologetic, mistakes happen it's okay. We went to pay and leave, and the card machine wasn't working, the pens to sign the bill didn't work, and we could also see the cooks through the window weren't wearing gloves either. Like a domino effect of just bad stuff that resulted in a pretty not great experience overall. The servers were very nice though. read more

Yoshi Express is okay, and just okay. It is nothing extraordinary and could be so much better. The atmosphere is nice; the lighting is ambient and seating is comfortable and abundant enough. The food is decent, but is often bland; menu options are extremely limited and are all very similar. I find myself having to smother everything in yum yum sauce for some flavour. Sushi is great, if a little expensive, but I have only had the opportunity to try it twice since it is only available on certain days at certain times. Service is average. read more

Welp, for starters the boy who took our order was very nice, and from appearance all the other employees seemed friendly (yet busy). The looks of the place meh, but what can you expect? It's new, it's in Cleveland, and yeah, nothing that wowed me. Now for the sushi, it was ok. I could probably get equivalent to a grocery store like Publix sushi. Now, coming from me, I love sushi and I personally can be selective. With that being said, if you're looking for "oh my gosh, you gotta go to this place!" sushi....this isn't it, but if you're like "it's late, I just want a sushi snack" go for it. I was looking forward to some decent Asian food. Had not tried Yoshi before. Spent $30 dollars and scarcely had enough for 2 people. Food was okay. But Walmart crinkle cut carrots were a disappointing part of the meal. I ordered California roll. It was fresh and crisp. Steak and shrimp had no flavor and steak was so tough. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of room for seating. They have sushi but I didn't order any. The table behind me did have sushi and it looked delivered. I had chicken teriyaki with broccoli,onions and zucchini on a bed of white rice. I also ordered 2 spring rolls and some miso soup. Save your money on both in my opinion. The spring rolls were the size of my pinkie finger and the miso soup tasted like soupy sour dough bread. Maybe this is the way it's supposed to taste but I'm not sure and I didn't like it. The spring rolls were the smallest ones I have ever seen! They were $1 each and you had to order 2. I was very disappointed in these spring rolls. My wife and mother also ate and had shrimp and scallops and shrimp and chicken teriyaki. Both of there dinners were delicious. So I give them 4 stars for there main entrees. Our meal total was $38 for 3 people. They didn't charge for the miso soup because we didn't like it. The soup is only $2.50. I will definitely eat here again though. This is our go to sushi place. We absolutely love the red and black dragon rolls. The hibachi is reasonably priced and the staff is always very friendly. The woman behind the sushi counter is very good at what she does. We have yet to order a roll made by her we weren't happy with. Would highly recommend for takeout. read more
