I have been here once and hesitate to come back due to the ownership. The food is outstanding but the owner seemed lackadaisical. It was a busier night then normal for them and SIGNIFICANTLY understaffed. We stood there waiting for a table for about 30 minutes even while there were clean empty tables. We watched his staff run around taking orders, bringing out drinks, bringing out food, clearing tables, etc. without even a minute to breathe. The caucasian owner stood at the front handling take out orders (not many may I add), and couldn't even lift a finger to clear some tables or even seat guests at open tables. This speaks volumes. At many points in time, he stood there with his arms crossed staring into the restaurant. How hard it is to walk 3 parties to a table with menus? Pad thai was too sweet and colorless. Squids was not fresh. Fried ice cream was not fried. They took it straight from the freezer and served us without deep fried it again). Sticky rice and mango was terrible, too sweet (mango was not fresh, sticky rice was little, not soft and the coconut topping was like too sugary and not creamy). Tomyum soup was ehhh, diluted with lot of water. Will not come back. Non-asian people will give this place a 5 stars since they never try real thai food before. But this place deserved a 1 Star from me. And one more thing, waiters have no smile. They look like they hate their job. read more

Here's the deal, the interior is the same as when I first lived in an apartment in Mansfield in 1998, so what? The food is as consistent as any Thai place can be. For those who aren't too adventurous and always order the Pad Thai, I would say their Pad Thai is fairly average, which is to say it is good. I have eaten pretty much everything on the menu and the real gems are some of the curries and spicer options. The Seafood Madness ordered extra hot is a solid choice as is the green curry. The Bankok Basil with Chicken, Shrimp or Scallops. I also recommend the pork dish they have....I think in a plum sauce or something....pork peppercorn that is it...that one....pretty damn good. The Tom Yum broth is nicely balanced as well. read more

I went to this place based on a recommendation from a local. I guess where I came from the standard might be a little high, because the food was not good at all at this place. First, we ordered a Singapore Noodle with chicken - it came with 99% rice noodle with curry powder and two slices of chicken and some bean sprouts. For the two delights, 80% was sliced onion, hardly any veggies (mushrooms, bean pods and carriots) and meats. The sauce was too sweet and salty in the same time. We walked out of there saying to ourselves that it was the worse thai food that we had ever taste with a pricy tag. Would not return it. read more

Despite the lackluster decor and downright scary location, I have to say that I'm a HUGE FAN! The food is fantastic from what I can tell so far and trust me, I'm Asian, and I've been to Thailand, and I love Thai food, so I'm a bit fanatical when it comes to finding and rating my Asian cuisine. The drunken noodles were fantastic and the chicken satay was great. I love that they have kids meals. Too bad it wasn't upscale. They would do much more business. My wife and I have gone to this place a handful of times. Only once did I not finish my meal and that was because I did not take their "spicy" warnings seriously. I ordered the Bangkok Basil which for the first split second was delicious, only to be followed by intense mouth burning. Like a fat kid reaching for the boobie-trapped cupcake, I kept going back until my wife insisted I shared her meal. Other than that experience, we have always loved our meals. Unlike take out Chinese, it's not heaping helpings of crap food - instead they are perfect portions of quality food. I think the price reflects well. Most of the time we pick-up our dinners to go, but we ate in once and had a great time. That one time, we both ordered off the Daily Specials menu and loved the meal. I wish I could remember what it was. For some reason, any time we are there, the place is slow but never empty. I highly recommend anyone who likes Thia (or Chinese) to try this place. read more

Not impressed at all. I order the Pad Thai for pick up. It was finished on time and near my hotel. When I picked it up everything went smooth. I got back to the room and there was nothing in my bag other than my food. No fork, napkin or sauce of any sort. I managed to get a fork from the hotel. As far as pad Thai is concerned this is not even near what it should be. There was hardly any chicken but tons and tons of noodles. For 12.00 dollars I expected a lot more. read more

I really love this place. It is both mine and my boyfriends favorite place for Asian food in our area. So far everything we have gotten here is good. My personal favorite if the pork n' peppercorn. My boyfriend likes the racha trio. I am more of a spice fan, while he prefers the sweet. We usually only get take-out but have eaten in once. There usually is only one server on, so if you are in a rush, just get take-out. The inside is really cute and colorful and the staff has always been pleasant and smiling. If you are in the area, try it out. Be prepared to have left overs as the portions are fairly large. Enjoy! read more

The food was ready when I came to pick it up and still hot when I got back home to eat it. Delicious thai food with fresh ingredients. Very good thai and nice portions too. Located near rt 140 and 95 in a small plaza. The restaraunt space holds about 20 tables and they do beers and mixed drinks. The decor is somewhat of a gift shop feel. I looked under a few statues to see how much but they were just decoration, damn I wanted the golden buda! I have eaten here before (actually in the old location) and it was fabulous. Fresh, bold flavors,perfectly cooked noodles.. great meals. This is the first time I have ordered takeout, and was sorely disappointed. I ordered a quick pad Thai and Tom Yum soup. It was ready in 10 minutes, but when I got it home, the soup was bland, the shrimp was mushy and it was lacking any lemongrass flavor whatsoever. The Pad Thai was a grey congealed lump of overcooked noodles with grey chicken and 3 pieces of wilted, sad scallion. I didn't detect any ground peanuts and the bean sprouts were as overcooked as the noodles. I ended up throwing it in the trash after five or six bites. Made me sad, because i have always raved about this place. I will try it again because it could have been an off night or a tired cook, but i will definitely dine in. read more

Can't WAIT for the new place. This was always a little hidden jewel. Beef satay for an app. Very tender. Love it. Thai iced tea and orange chicken for the main dish. Cutlets are just lightly breaded and juicy! Orange slices with a fresh orange sauce over the top. Oh man.... It's orgasmic! Add some fresh broccoli and cauliflower and it's a HUGE SCORE. A delightful oasis in a rather desolate shopping mall - worth seeking out! The meal was solid and tasty, the service very friendly with impeccably perfect timing and I really appreciated little details like a linen napkin and tablecloth, charming, colorful tableware and the interior decor. Pretty good Thai food staple for the nearby office dwellers. The lunch specials are all really good. The only thing I had that want great was the Pad Thai but I ordered that one for pick up so it probably sat too long. The succulent duck is my favorite. First time here meeting friends at a mid-way point. Selected by friend based on good reviews. Friends had arrived ahead and already had water and an appetizer. Waiter took our order for drinks and then appeared to forget about us. Finally an older gentleman who may have been owner or manager came over and asked and then we got our drinks. Everyone but me was happy with their food. I ordered the imperial duck, and while the flavor was very nice and the veggies were plentiful and nice and crisp, the duck was terrible. Very thinly sliced little pieces full of fat, bristle and sharp pieces of bone - nothing imperial about it at all and hardly worth the premium price. Used to be restaurants would serve nice thick meaty pieces of duck but this is the second restaurant I've been recently that has used this cheap substitution. If we go back I'll stick to basic dishes. read more

However, from my experience, I advise you to steer clear of ordering Bangkok Café through any delivery service. They are unable to accommodate any dietary modifications, including spice level, and will end up cancelling your order if it is most convenient for them. I guess they only want to provide service to their customers who dine-in. And no, I wouldn't blame the delivery service for this because this only ever happens with Bangkok cafe. read more
