This was a stumbled upon surprise. It looked like a good thing and was. It was a very good thing. The curry was like the Three Bears - just right. The service was wonderful - personable and on top of everything. One aspect which really stood out was the number of regulars picking up take out. Each of them stayed and visited with their friends running the restaurant. It was impressive to hear the people behind the counter asking details about these people's lives. Not nosey - these are people they knew well and enjoyed having around. I think that says a lot about the quality of the place. That same friendliness was extended to everyone in the restaurant. I came here for a lunch break with my father with great expectations after looking at pictures and reading the reviews. I ordered take out since dine in was not open yet and they quickly filled my order. I arrived at the store 15 minutes later and picked up my food. The lady treated us very well and was very respectful. To my surprise, when we brought the food home, the food was still quite warm and smelled great! I was quite hungry and immediately started eating and forgot to take pictures! I ordered the massaman curry with chicken but was accidentally given beef. After taking a few bites I soon found that the curry was very lacking in flavor and didn't come with much meat or vegetables. By the time I had finished all the rice I was left with about a quarter of the curry sauce and no vegetables or meat. My father ordered the pad woon sen and had the exact same criticism. No flavor! Usually my complaints with Thai restaurants in Utah County are that the curries are too sweet; however, this time around there was simply no flavor. read more

Bangkok Grill is a decent Thai dining experience all-around, with kind (but sometimes slow) service and good food. So far I have been twice and have tried their Panang and Massaman curries, both of which are solid as far as taste goes. So while I wasn't necessarily blown away by the flavor, I can see myself coming back to try more options (and I'll know that I have two safe bets in those curries.) When I said their service was sometimes slow, what I meant is that it was busy and they had a single person seating people, taking sit down orders, ringing up to go orders, and refilling drinks. I would assume this isn't always the case, but it was both times I went. She was actually doing as great a job as possible all by herself. I will be coming back so this score could definitely fluctuate, but for now I'd say this is a pretty good Thai restaurant for your money. read more

None of the photos looked anything like my dishes Tom ka gai 1 1/2 stars Weak watery and it was obvious they just threw the stuff in the broth last minute since it didn't taste like the broth at all. You bring it out in the volcano but it's cold. Pad see ew 2 1/2 stars Saddest looking Thai dish ever when it came out, flavor was actually pretty good. Dump in rating for the two small pieces of broccoli and 1 carrot slice for the whole dish. Massaman curry 1 star If it were possible to give lower I would. It tasted like weak flavored peanut dipping sauce. You can't convince me their was any curry paste in it. Wow excellent Thai food. My sister and her family have raves about this place for awhile so I finally made it over. And it was excellent! We came during lunch time and it was busy but still excellent service. I had the massaman curry which offered daily on the lunch special with soup and egg rolls. My sister had the gyzoa instead of the egg roll which I preferred the sauce that came with her meal. I had a medium level of spice which I wished I would have increased it a little. Hands down the best thai food i have had in utah. The price is perfectly reasonable and their ambience pretty nice inside with a unique seating experience if you choose to sit in the booth. The kicker is their portion size which is perfect for lunch and was optimized so well that i felt just about perfectly full post my lunch which included wolfing down their crunchy wings (this one appeared fried though and hence might not be for the health conscious and might need to be taken only once in a while) , their pad thai which was the best i have tasted around town and also their delicious mango sticky rice which was not too sweet nor bland. These would also double up as my recommendations as must trys in this restaurant. You should also not lose a chance to taste their coconut soup (the portion size is i think generally for 2 unless you are super hungry :)). The service was non fuss and quick as was billing. The food tasted great. The ambience was a bit on the noisier side but you would not mind that once you get to the real deal which is the food, which again tastes awesome. They might get busy during business hours and hence if you dont want to possibly find yourself in a queue, please plan to go ahead of time or an early lunch might be on the cards to avoid any wait times. But the upside is the tables move at a pretty decent speed too and hence some amount of wait time might be offset here. Go here for a great thai food experience. For my dollar, Bangkok grill is the new leader in town for casual Thai food. The facility is roomy and nice. I've always received reasonable service. The prices for the lunch special are downright very low. The food isn't as sugary as some places around town. The satay option on the lunch is excellent. The chicken isn't overcooked. It's flavorful. The eggrolls are equally as good. The Tom Yum Gai is actually hot and sour. It's the best hot and sour soup I've every had in the valley, whether it's Thai, or Chinese. We have a lot of places to choose from. They are continually changing owners, moving around, opening and closing. I try to keep up on them, but it's hard, and in the end, when I find a place that stands out from all the rest I've been to, I'm going to stick to it. read more

Soooo happy Bangkok Grill is back! According to Linda, the chefs daughter, all the recipes are the same. They took a few items off the menu and added a picture for every dish! Having lived in Thailand I am picky about my Thai food and this place does so many dishes very well! For starters, my two favorite dishes, the Beef Waterfall and Phad Graprow are on point! I like the Phad Graprow with minced pork and a fried egg on top! I Love the Tom Kha Gai soup and the Phad Woon Sen. I also like the Pineapple Fried Rice. They put a Chinese sausage in there that is my fave! Out of the curries, I'd go with the pumpkin here, but all are pretty great! I'll be back again and again!!!! read more

Not bad Thai, but I've had better. Very friendly staff, our food came quickly, and the carpeted box "booth" seating is fun! Flavor was good, but lacked creaminess I get at other Thai restaurants. The rice was a bit stale, which is the last item in an Asian restaurant that should be served less than fresh, and the chicken in all our dishes was a tough. Tom Kah Gai soup tasted okay but skimped on ingredients - and wasn't served with individual cups? Spring roll juice tastes fantastic (maybe there's a bit of mint in it?) but wish it was thicker to stay where I put it; my last bite was a puddle of juice. The pumpkin in the curry looked and tasted mushy/mealy in a way that made us think it was either reheated or not good enough (don't offer pumpkin curry if the ingredient isn't quality). I'd order the Penang curry again (naturally a wee bit spicy) and ask for freshly made rice. Chicken satay was also a bit tough if we let it cool too much - the hotter it was made it easier to bite/cut through. read more

Good service, pretty good food. The menu had the perfect selection, it had everything I would have wanted! So that was all great. We got massaman curry, pad woonsen, and Thai fried rice. I wished for more vegetables in all of them. The massaman had a good amount of chicken, the woonsen didn't have enough beef. Other than that, those two dishes were pretty good, tasted yummy. The Thai fried rice was really disappointing. It did not taste Thai at all and was very dry. This is my first time here and I've only ever tried the Drunken Noodles, and they were delicious. I asked for level 3 heat level and they got it right on the money. Typically, noodle dishes come with an excessive amount of noodles and not enough veggies, however, their's was surprisingly the opposite! The chicken/veggies ratio is greater than the noodles, which was nice to see (even though I absolutely LOVE the noodles). When I go back, I comment on those dishes as well. :) read more

Yay! I've finally found "my" local Thai restaurant! After being disappointed by so many high-rated Thai places, I came into Bangkok Grill not expecting much. I decided to come for Monday lunch so that I could experience the yellow curry, tom ka, and satay. I was not disappointed. Everything was delicious; the yellow curry was NOT TOO SWEET (hallelujah!) unlike pretty much every other Thai place in the Utah Valley. The potatoes were just a tad underdone but overall it was still a great bowl of curry. The tom ka soup was light but plenty coconut-y, and the peanut sauce for the satay was phenomenal. My big complaint is that for all three aspects of the lunch, the chicken was quite overdone. But better overdone than underdone, right? I definitely anticipate coming back and trying more of their dishes. read more

It's just about what you would expect for both quantity and quality. The curries are all good (although the last time I had red pineapple curry there was not a trace of pineapple to be found). Visiting from out of town and I've been craving thai food for the past week. My go-to Thai meal is yellow curry. When I got it I wasn't sure if it was the right order because it wasn't as yellow as most other curries I've had. I took one bite and I couldn't stop eating. I even ate the bell peppers and I'm not a huge fan of bell peppers either. Their thai tea was perfect and served in a huge glass and it's cheap in comparison to some thai restaurants I have been to. I wanted to give Bangkok Grill a shot and I ended up being beyond disappointed! Being Laotion and Thai - I am sure I know a little bit of what I'm talking about when I give this review. I ordered som tum(papaya salad), tom yum gai(hot and sour chicken soup), nam tok(beef salad), egg rolls, and chicken satay for pickup. They got my food done super super fast! I loved it! I finally got to the lake with my mouth drooling for Thai food. The som tum, nam tok and tom yum had spilled to the bottom of the bag. I was more than careful with it, the bag did not too over during transportation but knowing that people are traveling from their restaurant to their destination the restaurant could have packed everything a little better. We finally sat down to eat after we sorted out and cleaned the mess from the juices and broth. The nam tok was just okay. The som tum was DRY and flavorless. All you could taste was the peppers(we ordered it extra extra spicy). I was like okay, that's fine whatever. I pour some of the tom yum onto my rice, take a bite and it was seriously the most disappointing bite I have ever taken in my life. It was BLAND. There was NO FLAVOR what so ever. It tasted like boiled ginger water. We ended up dumping it out. Extremely disappointed and upsetting, I will not be returning for more. read more

My husband and I ate here and were pleasantly surprised that this generic strip mall looking place delivered a satisfying and very tasty meal. We got the chicken satay appetizer, Tom Ka Gai soup, and an order of mango sticky rice. We wanted a light meal so we shared everything. The satay with peanut sauce was very flavorful, it was slightly overcooked, but I won't dock them for any points on that. The soup was so simple, but at the same time had a complex flavor profile that only Thai food delivers. The sticky rice and mango was the perfect finish for the meal.
