No the food is not amazing. Frankly it's mediocre at best. I never do reviews however after reading all the happy ones praising this place I felt the need to do this. 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the server before she asked what would I like to drink. Meal had shrimp that were spongy and had a smell therefore old. The servers spent most of the time in the kitchen. 20 minutes to get a check and I was not hidden in a corner. As a former server/ bartender this place is awful. Who knows maybe they are helping with cooking the food in the back. Or maybe they are simply slacking because the local Mormon population won't say anything bad about the service and continue tipping for terrible service. Frankly how this place survives is beyond me. If it was located in any major city it wouldn't last a week. Good for them for getting away with terrible service and mediocre food. This is the kind of place you find in a tourist town with no options. To call this place a Thai restaurant is offensive. Avoid like the plague. read more

Been going here for years. The quality is great and I think the prices are fair for what you get. A curry is about $12 and it feeds at least two people with rice. Have tried the masaman, panang, yellow and red curries. All great. Chicken Laab and mango sticky rice is also delish. Love the family owned business! read more

Randomly stopped in after passing by it on a walk. The place was pretty empty at first, but picked up as dinner progressed. I wasn't too hungry, so I just got the fresh spring rolls with tofu and my boyfriend got the chicken pad Thai. I will say the wait was notable. It probably took about 30 minutes for the food to come out. However, I believe there were only two workers in the entire restaurant. A waitress and a chef in the back. When food finally came, my spring rolls were okay. They were 4 huge rolls, but lacked any flavor. It was my mistake to pick tofu vs another protein because I thought they came with peanut sauce, but they came with just sweet and sour sauce with peanuts on top. So, the rolls were really bland for me. However, the pad thai was really good! It's more on the sweet side, but that's how I like it. Minus points for the excessive wait when there were barely any tables at the time of our order. The waitress also brought us the check without us indicating that we were done. I was thinking to order the mango sticky rice for dessert, but didn't want her to redo the check. Overall, nice and chill Thai spot. read more

This is a place that you could walk right by and miss out on exceptional food. The service is good and the portions are fair for the cost of each dish. Probably the best pad Thai in Utah county. Came to Provo on a business trip and decided to try the Thai fare in town. I will admit in SoCal we are very spoiled with the plethora of options that are available to us, but I was very disappointed with my experience at SDTC. Ordered the Tom Yum soup with shrimp, asked for it spicy What came was a bowl of bland water with a few tomatoes and some small farm raised shrimp, no spice whatsoever. Thought it had to get better with the Silver Dish combo of beef, shrimp and chicken. Unfortunately it got worse as the dish was tasteless. Definitely not a place I can recommend. This place has a good selection of curries and rice/noodle thai dishes. It's very tasty and not too expensive for the food you get! Each curry comes with a big bowl of rice. I decided to try their more interesting curry: the pineapple was nice and sweet, the avocado curry is green curry base with avocado bits making it creamier! I really liked both! Wanting to find a new Thai place in Utah county, we tried Silver Dish. With a prime location on center street, I left feeling like the restaurant was just okay and that better options must exist elsewhere in Provo. We waited for a while to have our order taken, and had empty drink glasses most of our time there. We were also seated directly across from the bathroom, which led to an interesting experience. I felt like the pad Thai was mid, with some chicken that had weird texture and a very watery sauce with low flavor. My friend and I went here for dinner on Saturday night around 7pm. They were fairly busy, with a couple of large parties and several take out orders that were awaiting pickup. We were seated after about 10 or so minutes of waiting, and once we were seated we waited for another 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and took our order. Several of the wait staff passed by our table, but no one stopped to bring us water or take our order for quite some time. We put in our order and didn't have to wait very long for our food to arrive. One of the kitchen staff brought our order out, brought us a water pitcher, refilled our waters, and brought extra napkins. He was so kind and attentive - more so than our server, who only stopped by our table once to take our orders and never returned. The food was good - I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai and my friend order the Chicken Drunken Noodles. I had also ordered the mango sticky rice, but it never came out. I was, however, able to get it to go. No one checked on us throughout our meal, and we had to flag down our server to get to go boxes, ask about the mango sticky rice I ordered, and get the check. When we went to check out, there was no one at the front to ring up our order, and our server had lost our ticket. I really wanted to love this place because the food was good and the reviews were great. I'm not sure if it was just an off night because of a busy dinner rush, but we were not impressed with the service here, except for the guy from the kitchen who brought us our food. read more

This was such a cool place to eat! I really liked the inside and how it was designed. It was also nice seating arrangements and even though it was busy and packed it was still quite enough to have a conversation. The Massuman was deliciously flavored and they brought plenty of rice to the table. The vegetables were a decent size and added great flavor. I also liked the chicken as the meat choice as well. My only complaint is that it took like 40ish minutes to actually get our food. I am sure this is because they were busy but it was still a long time to me personally. They did forget some egg rolls but then they made up for that by comping them. I would recommend this place for sure but plan on at least an hour and a half. read more

This is my new go-to Thai place in Provo! I've been to a lot of others in the area, and you definitely get the biggest bang for your buck here! If you go during lunch you can get an entree, pot sticker, and side salad all for under $10 (including a tip)! It's by far the cheapest Thai place I've been to, and the food is really tasty! The presentation was also impressive to me. I literally ordered a pile of noodles (Pad Thai), and they managed to make my plate look pretty and exciting to eat! It's those little things that make Silver Dish stand out to me. The building does look a little run down on the outside, but don't let that steer you away! The inside is kept pretty nice. It's owned by the cutest family, and they are all incredibly kind! If they're busy it can seem understaffed since there's only a few of them, but it wasn't a huge problem for me. My daughter came here with her friends a couple of months ago and has been raving about it ever since. We came as a family. We live in South Jordan so this was not a short trip. And the way she was raving about how delicious the curry was, we were expecting amazing things! When we got there they seated us pretty quickly, but just barely beat the rush. They sat us down and as soon as they did about four other tables sat down right behind us. Because of this, it took the wait staff probably 20 minutes before we even got waters. Somehow the other tables got served before us. Then once he finally took our order it took another 20 minutes to get our appetizers. Longer for the food. The appetizers were decent. The chicken wings are really good, the spring Rolls were delicious, and the chicken satay was good. Although it did have a lot of fat on it. Then the dinner entrées came. My daughter absolutely loved her curry, as expected. My sweet-and-sour chicken was pretty good. Although each piece was a tiny piece of chicken with a ton of breading.. One son got the pho with beef. He was not impressed. He said it tasted like straight up beef broth with a little onions. Not a whole lot of other flavor. The other son got a Larb salad. His first couple of bites were good, but every once in a while he got a disgusting bite that tasted like, as he put it, BUTT. (And he's 26, not a little kid!) It was so bad that he couldn't bring himself to eat the rest of it. My husband got Pad Thai. He said it was pretty good. He ate the entire thing. We then sat there for another 20 minutes waiting for our server to come back and bring us the check. Which he never did. We ended up going to the desk and asking for it. So between the extremely long wait, and a couple dishes that were not worth the hour drive to Provo, we probably won't be back. Well my daughter well. She still loves the curry there. read more

Nonetheless, I would not come to this restaurant again after having tried their pineapple curry. Although it tasted decent, I do not think it is worth the price to have watered down curry! Edit: I tried this restaurant again due to excellent customer service from the owner regarding my previous review. This time I would say the food is good for the price!
