i don't know how this place has 4.8 stars with 400+ reviews on google... we had to wait at least 50 minutes for a 35 minute to-go order. was offered water and thai tea while waiting. the space is nice extremely packed on a saturday night. the bathroom is very nice and has everything you need to ensure a good experience in there. but the food is not good at all! it has no flavor and is honestly a disgrace to a fellow thai food enjoyer i thought the food was going to be enjoyable because of the photos and ratings on google.. please do me a favor and spare your time, money and tastebuds. anyone that enjoys their dishes either has the tastebuds of a dolphin or has never had any other thai cuisine read more

Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is "party in Thailand" and changes quite frequently, as Kunking (one of the owners) decorates for every holiday and change of season. The place is spotlessly clean, and the owners, husband and wife team Knot and Kunking and her sister are almost always there watching over things. Most importantly the food is unique in that the sauces used are family recipes handed down for generations, it is always served hot (when it's supposed to be hot), and prepared and presented properly. Right now, I'm hooked on "Grandma's Sukiyaki with broth" , a wonderful mix of chicken, shrimp, glass noodles and veggies. There is always more than enough to take a second meal home! This is definitely one of my top ten restaurants. read more

We've ordered takeout, catering and dined in here many times. It's the best Asian restaurant in the wilton/redding/ridgefield area. They have great dishes, drinks, friendly owners and have a lovely restaurant on the inside. Our favorites include the pad see ew, steak salad, Thai tea and all of their specials. They are generally quick to serve but do get busy at peak hours. Few restaurants consistently have a full dining room so you can tell they are popular. They can accommodate allergies as well! read more

Most mediocre Thai food I've ever had. The Tom Kha Gai was awful - blandest I've ever had. I mean it was like water. The fried wontons with crab and cream cheese was totally "non-Thai". Only the drunken noodles with chicken was something close to standard, and for that I give it 3 stars instead of 2. I ordered take out so cannot comment on service - atmosphere looked pleasant enough but would not have been happy had I eaten in because of the food. read more

When first entering the establishment, their decor is of being somewhere in Thailand. There are beautiful flowers hanging throughout the restaurant. We were absolutely delighted with the impressive presentation of the dishes. But even more so with the authenticity of the food. The complex flavors were layered so nicely they showcased traditional Thai cuisine. The service was wonderful. Our server came to check on us frequently and so did a back up server. We had constant water refills without having to ask once. This restaurant is now on our favorite radar! read more

This is a must try restaurant! Immediately when I walked in, I knew I was in for a great meal. The food coming from the kitchen smelt delightful. The inside is small with a bar on one side and the dining room on the other. However, it is very quaint, nicely decorated and inviting. The service was exceptional and our server was one of the kindest humans. We started with the money bags and pork spring rolls. Both were filled with strong spice flavors and paired with tasty dipping sauces. For entrees, we tried the curry duck and one of the specials, five spice duck noddle soup. The crispy outside of the duck was a great texture contrast to the noodles and rice for both dishes and also cooked perfectly. The curry and broth were warming delicious. Had my first try with Bangkok today and it's was amazing . All ingredients were flavorful. I've been trying all Thai restaurants in Danbury , Brookfield, Ridgefield and surrounding areas but this is what I was looking for . I had the Pad Woon Sen and Thai ice tea . Also they make the chili oil and dry chili mix in house and boy is is deliciously spicy ! I should have taken a before pic but I will next time . Great Job guys! read more

Yummy! And all homemade and local foods. We had the dumpling which was divine, probably the best item of the night but it was all good. Had a house salad with the peanut sauce, the sauce is so good, I dare you not to eat it all. Had green tea and had to ask about the mugs it comes in. Staff is so friendly and always available. Had pad Thai and wife had the think noodles which I can't spell. But very tasty. Couldn't finish everything but brought it home. Games on 3 tvs if you wanted to see them. I'm sorry, I hate giving bad reviews but this was the worst food I have ever, ever, ever had! Ordered Pad Thai to be delivered. Inedible it was that bad, it's in the garbage. Couldn't tell if it was sweet or sour or both yet shouldn't have been either!! The vegetables were awful and unidentifiable. It was horrible and expensive and I'm pissed. I feel like they just threw a bunch of shit in a skillet and that was my meal. Should be ashamed of yourselves for even letting that crap go out the door. I deserve my money back!! I live in Ridgefield so Bangkok Republic is only 10 minutes from the house. The food is crazy good with great heat (which I love). The service is friendly and attentive. I love eating at the bar with "The Redhead".....you should stop in and eat in or get some takeout. read more

I've been searching for some good Thai food in the area for a little while, and I found it at Bangkok Republic. You walk in and to the left is a small dinning area and to the right is the Bar area. They have 3 quality craft beers on Tap from local CT Breweries. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with Shrimp and Level 5 Spicy and it didn't disappoint. The flavors of this dish were sweet savory and spicy making it a great combination for Thai food. I had plenty to take home because of the nice size dishes. This is definitely a Bi-weekly spot for me and the staff of very friendly. read more

I ordered the Kuay Tiew Tom Yum (big bowl) noodle soup and Papaya Salad. It's very good! I order the same thing every time. The soup is very tasty, and a big portion. I appreciate that they never miss the order notes. The soup comes with shrimp, but I typically substitute the shrimp for tofu. I did substitute for chicken one time, but prefer the tofu. The UberEats fees are also not ridiculous for this establishment. read more

I've realized I been here before a while ago and forgot about it till just recently I went back! I noticed the updated look, not sure when that happened but I haven't been here in a longgg time. Nice interior and cozy. I ordered a lychee iced tea for my drink and it was so refreshing. I noticed on the menu they had Thai iced tea martini which I thought was unique, I have to come back for that. I ordered a coconut shrimp to start and shared a papaya salad appetizer. Very delicious. The papaya salad was "no spice" but still had a kick so I would order down a notch from your typical spice preference. I got my typical Thai order, the drunken noodles with beef. Very delicious and a good sized portion that I still had leftovers. All in all it was a good experience. read more

Love this place! Staff is very friendly, and the food is always delicious! Appreciate their willingness to accommodate vegan. I have been a regular here for several years and love the place. However, I'm not sure if they sold it or got new kitchen staff but the food is not as great as it used to be. The last 2 times I got the coconut chicken soup, it was watery and slightly curdled. It used to be silky coconut with a perfect balance. The beef Panang had more veggies than beef. But the Pad Thai is still excellent. This is my go to spot and best around and I really hope the last few times was just a fluke. I'll update next time I'm there. read more

We regularly order take out from Bangkok Republic and the food is always well prepared and tasty. Favorite appetizers are money bags, coconut shrimp and chicken satay. Pad Thai , drunken noodles and massaman curry are also great. Highly recommend. read more
