Wow! This was my first time in Connecticut (from California!) and my group came very hungry close to the closing time. Totally solid Thai food here. We ordered chicken pad thai and shrimp pad thai and both were tasty, albeit could have used a little more spiciness at the base level. I also ordered an appetizer of vegggie pancakes, and Sukiaki with beef as a main course. Delivery was earlier than estimated-which is always appreciated. Veggie pancakes, which are actally squares, were fantastic! Crunchy exterior with a soft inside with a mild, creamy and pleasing taste. I could not stop popping these in my mouth! Yummy! Sukiaki broth, which came with glass noodles, was rich tasting, warming, and nourishing. My husband went for lunch with his friend and brought home a lunch dish for me which I requested, Shrimp Pad Thai. Unfortunately, I got the wrong order because there were no sprouts, egg, peanuts or tofu. It was simply rice noodles with four shrimp and it wasn't very good. The flavor was above average for me, but given the small portion size, you would assume the base for the drunken noodle would be well portioned out. The dish consisted of 75% peppers and onions. If I am ordering a noodle dish with chicken I would expect 50-75% of the dish would consist of primarily noodles and chicken. So here's a review of Beef Drunken Noodles and take out service: Restaurant was clean and cool but smelled a little strange for some reason. ANYWAYS the food and service was outstanding. Was not overpriced, perfectly seasoned, reasonably spicy, perfect portion of ingredients (some places cut you short on meats and what not but not here) and the food was ready on time! Staff was friendly too, ordering over the phone was a very easy process. Other than the strange smell, everything was wonderful. Would love to come back! If I ate inside then I probably would get overwhelmed by the odor, maybe someone spilled a bottle of fish sauce or something I'm not sure but accidents happen, definitely no good reason to not give this place a try. It's atypical that I dine out for lunch but I just had a very specific craving today and so ventured out to Thai Kit. I'd dined in previously but was neither offended nor impressed, having what I would consider a bog standard Thai meal. I often order home delivery from them and find the quality of their food travels well. But maybe it was today's ample sunshine and breezy ocean air, maybe it was my quaint little table outside or the more-than-expectedly friendly service. Whatever it was, they fired on all cylinders today and my lunch was worth a quick write up. I don't often comment on value as I personally will unflinchingly pay whatever for an experience and product that is commensurate in quality with its pricepoint. However I should mention that their lunch combination included everything I would have ordered piecemeal in a completely reasonable portion for under twenty bucks. PS -- Drunken Noodles are supposed to be spicy, that's just a fact of nature. And even my absolute favorite Thai places in the area seem to forget this fact in an attempt not to upset the wasps. From beginning to end the food here was phenomenal. For starters we order the curry puffs which were out of this world amazing, the soft moist pastry like wrapping melted like butter and the curry inside was made to perfection. The fried pork dumplings were good as well,nicely cooked and filled to the max. The fried thia chicken had a nice crisp and a sweet sauce that balance the appetizer out easily. For my meal I had the broccoli and beef not to be confused with beef and broccoli (LOL) which was cooked to perfection and served with white rice, and packed a good garlic punch not overwhelming but enough to wow. The broccoli itself was dead on not to soft not to crunchy. I order the friend rice which in itself is a meal and a big enough portion to share and it was tossed with the finest veggies imaginable. The chocolate lava cake was pretty good, I was taken back that it was served with toffee ice cream but I must admit it was a great combination and didn't stand a chance of me sharing it..... Only downside would have to be that the drinks were kind of week and rather sweet.
