Not only are the chef's offerings absolutely delicious, she is also able to blend authentic ingredients with authentic spices in ways I could never imagine. The atmosphere is authentic, the waitresses offer suggestions and combinations when asked, and also tell you, if you desire, how to eat in the traditional Thai style. I usually just stick with what I know & love here, which is the Beef Drunken noodles. Honestly, I tried a couple other dishes here recently & wasn't super impressed...Well, this time I tried the Chicken Pad Prik Paow & the Somtum salad both of which did not disappoint!! I will definitely be reordering these dishes & I'm sure the Pad Prik Paow would be great with any of the protein choices they offer. The sauce was very flavorful. The best Thai food in town! Luna, the owner knew my name after the 3rd time coming in which makes you feel special. The restaurant is on the smaller side but is very cozy and perfect for lunch or even a chill date. I was very happy to see that they offer vegan and gluten-free options, and when I asked what exactly those were, the lady taking my order said most of the dishes can be modified to be vegan and/or gluten-free! So I got the Pad See Ew, which is a dish I usually can't order because it is traditionally neither vegan nor gluten-free. It was perhaps a tad bit on the bland side (I assume as a result of omitting ingredients like fish sauce that can't be substituted) - mainly just the tofu that was bland, because the noodles and vegetables tasted pretty good. Very enjoyable. And a good sized portion for the price, which made me especially happy because I was so hungry. I would have to try some of their other dishes to get a better idea of their food since it's hard to judge a place off of just one thing. I then, waited inside just observing ....we waited over an hour for our food (take out) make sure you don't have to wait as long as we did! Train Fried Rice and the Bangkok Stir-fry is amazing. We are addicted to them. We know few other folks who love this place.

Paid $86 on uber eats for food that didn't match in quality. Duck noodles? Nope, duck soup with noodles. Chicken teriyaki? Nope! Chicken in a soup of teriyaki. The food didnt match the description on the website. Not to mention I spent $6 on a ride of rice and received a small container that was only half full. Extremely disappointed. Panang Curry with Lamb was amazingly delicious. I've been told the sauce is home made with TLC and takes a very long time to make. Not a lot of Thai Restaurants can make this sauce. Jeera is my favorite takeout place in Westport. Quick service and very friendly staff. So happy to find that they serve Roti which was so fluffy and absolutely delish! Chicken Satay is also a must-try: well-favored and very tender. I concur with the other reviews that I love all their condiments, particularly the peanut sauce! wow - great gem we found in Westport - didn't even know this exists until we found it on Yelp! We stopped by for an early dinner - sat outside as we had two dogs with us. We weren't that hungry but looking at the menu, there was so many things we wanted to try! We ordered: - Roti - chicken dumplings - papaya salad - duck noodles - khao soi The roti was good and interesting. Typically when we order roti, it comes with a bowl of curry. This one, the roti is really the star and it comes with a little bit of curry in a dipping sauce bowl just for dipping. The chicken dumplings were quite tasty. The papaya salad - wow, really had a kick to it. So much that it was hard for me to keep eating without drinking lots of water. The khao soi was good - typically to the other places we had tried it. Now the star of the night for us - the duck noodles. Wow - the broth was so clean and sweet. Everything about this was SO GOOD. Beware - we moved here from the city last year and this is by far the worst Thai I've ever had. I'm a bug guy and not picky but this was literally inedible. My wife had the pad Thai - gross. Not just bland but bad! I had green curry which was slightly better but still bad. Be careful - there are a lot of very bad reviews on here. Makes you wonder how there are also so many 5star reviews. Also funny - my wife called to complain and the woman started yelling at my wife. She did not offer a refund or the next order free - she just literally yelled at my wife asking if she's ever had Thai before etc! Food is usually good (not all the time) if you sit and eat, but take out is not good at all. We had an horrible, disgusting experience yesterday; We went there for a early dinner, the whole restaurant was empty when we arrived.. At first, waiter try to sit us at the dark back area but i wanted to sit closer the window, she didn't like it. We ordered our food and drinks, 3 Thai tea, 2 noddles with extra eggs, extra veggies and meat and pork chops. Both waiter and cook, came to table and told us we "should" order appetizers. At least 5-6 times she come and go and told us " you should order appetizers", we told both of them " no thank you" they kept come insist "You have to eat appetizers!" ok this was weird but we didn't care.. We are out for a nice dinner as a family we didn't care their weird pushy behavior but noticed. Food took forever to come, First my husbands food came some pork dish, it looked and tasted like dry Dog food. 10 min later mine came, My son had to wait for his like 15 more min, yes our food didn't come together we have to wait for each others food to eat together, our eggs was burnt, dry and over cooked. i asked very nicely to the waiter "i like my eggs runny not over cooked and not burned pls" She was insist she didn't understand what was i asking. Cook lady came very rude very loud "this is how I cook! This is Thai cook, i can't cook the way you want too. I don't know how to cook runny eggs" I really didn't understand why this was so offensive to her, how i like my eggs, i will eat and i will pay.. i was annoyed but still patient and calmly I told her " it is ok, not a big deal. i just don't want this eggs, you can take it away" i put it on a little plate and she put it back on top of my noodles and said "no i will not take it, you keep it!". I put the eggs in a smaller plate once more and gave it to the waitress and i am really very annoyed at this point, she was literately insulting and bullying me, i can hear her voice from the kitchen yelling about the eggs, it was like a horror story, my kid and husband got in shock no body understand her behavior and tantrum towards us! we are polite, nice, your customer guest and we will pay what is this yelling and nastiness. i told the waitress with a calm voice (i don't know how) " please trow this eggs to the garbage i don't want it". she took the eggs and 10 min later cook lady came back with the eggs and put it next to me and told me once more very loudly "you keep it at your table". whole family we couldn't believe what was just happening this disgusting hostile nasty attitude towards me was unbelievable! i started cry and I left the place. i waited for my husband at least 20 min in the car, they didn't bring the check, took the drinks away and ignored him. I told him just leave, but the food was at the table he thought we have to pay it or she might call the police or something she is nasty.. My husband paid the check they pushed him for taking the noodles with him and the EGGS! we had to trow the food to the garbage, eggs on top of the noodles kept went back and forth kitchen to table and waited so long . We paid $87 for the drinks we couldn't drink and the food we didn't eat.. By the way my husband ordered pork it was like dry dog food he left it there! I hope she can't spend our money happily, she ruined our evening, family time and took our money for a food it was disgusting!! So of course I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY! read more

There's plenty of fantastic places to get thai food in Westport, but this is 100% the best one. Truly 5 stars, best thai food I've ever had. All the food feels light and clean, but don't take that to mean flavorless: the flavors are true to how you like your favorite dish, but Jeera's take stands out, and it feels like you're having it for the first time again. Or so I felt when I tried the pad thai! Food comes with brown rice, which I normally feel meh about, but this rice is rich in flavor and a different look and texture than what's in your mind. Since moving here from Brooklyn, we've been looking for our go to Thai restaurant and because I'm from Thailand, I'm quite picky about what is "real Thai". Well, Jeera Thai is real Thai and I'm so thankful this little gem exists!!! Everything I order meets and exceeds my expectations. We usually order the fried tofu, pad see ew, pad kee mao and gang kiaow wan (green curry) and I never regret it! There house special fish is also a personal favorite, just like the way my mom used to make... mmmm! I had the worst experience with this restaurant owner and their staff. I'm Asian and the Asian owner must be racist against other Asians, just my opinion. I drove a long distance to pick up takeout and asked if I could use the restroom. She looked at me and said "you cannot use the restroom here take your food and go" I said what do you mean I can't use the restroom is it out of order? Then she points at the door and said "take your food and go, you cannot use our bathroom." All of the patrons dining in were shocked. I just took the food and left in disbelief.
