    Yum Woon Sen (Vermicelli Salad)

So happy to have a new Thai restaurant in the area and even happier that it's pretty good! Our entrees (Pad See Ew and Duck Curry) were both excellent. Both were delivered hot, fresh, and delicious. Where this place loses the fifth star is the appetizers. We split a Yum Woon Sen (Vermicelli Salad) and a Fried Wontons and while both were fine, the salad had almost no shrimp or chicken as advertised, and the wontons were each tiny and amounted to a tiny portion. For almost $20 worth of appetizers, we felt a bit gypped. That said, the entrees being so good more than made up for this and will definitely give them another shot and will update my review accordingly. Highly recommend!

UPDATE: After ordering from this place over 12 times, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE dishes and BEST dishes (in my opinion) are the Green Curry with chicken & the Devil's beef (which is super spicy)! AMAZING!! Only order the Devil's beef if you can handle spicy cause it definitely has a KICK!

Went there for the 1st DINE IN after few months quarantine!!!! Excellent service with great food especially the pork appetizer we had and the red curry! Yum yum !

This is a rip off. This is not $25 worth of food. Go to Bibillia instead!

Pick up portion size is absolutely ridiculous. I feel robbed, this is insulting. This is not $25 worth of food.

Winner, Winner Thai Dinner!…read more We had no expectations coming here, but food was SPOT on. Our family of 4 came here on a Friday evening at around 6pm and when we walked in, to our surprise, the waitress asked if we had reservations. The restaurant is very small and low-key, but, apparently popular amongst the locals. Anyhow, we were still seated even though we didn't have reservations and, to be honest, the restaurant never reached full capacity, although there were customers in and out throughout the evening. The menu was pretty standard, but seemingly very authentic with Thai soups, appetizers, salads, noodles, fried rices and special entrees. Everything in the noodles, fried rice and entrees groups were around the same price, so nothing was extremely too steep. Since it was our 1st time trying this restaurant out, we went with the very, very standard fare where you should have NOTHING to lose. We ordered: Sa Tay (BBW Marinated Chicken on Skewers) Pad See Ew with Beef Pad Thai with Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp Thai Iced Tea (You have to!) Andddd to our surprise, we really, really loved the food. The Sa Tay was a great starter/appetizer to wet our beaks The chicken was flavorful and tasty. As for the Pad See Ew with Beef, excellent. The Pineapple Fried Rice with Shrimp was probably our favorite, especially for our toddler son. The only slight disappointment might have been the Pad Thai. Although I liked it, my wife felt it was a bit too sweet for her palette. Portion sizes for everything was right on too and enough for us to easily share. Also, DON'T FORGET to order a refreshing Thai Iced Tea. Typically, it's hit or miss at restaurants, but most times it's a hit and it was definitely here! We loved that it wasn't premixed when it arrived, which gave it the allure of being fresher. The service was good and the waitress was friendly. Tables are little close to each other, but, luckily we never had a party sit next to us throughout our dinner. I do have to say that ALL of the food that we ordered did come out blazingly fast, which raised our eyebrows a bit, but the food was very delicious so we didn't think of it much. We tend to like to visit new restaurants all of the time, but this is one that we will definitely be back at.

Everything I ordered was bland and tasteless. I can't eat spicy food so of course my dishes were spice free. From the chicken satay to the mixed vegetables to the pad see ew, the food was absolutely tasteless. The satay was tasteless and overcooked. Not sure if they had a different chef that night but it's been removed from the rotation.

Once you sit down you scan a QR Code to order your food and drinks. I was pretty hungry that day so we ended up ordering a ton of food. The drinks were pretty good and they were served in Le Creuset mugs. Not the biggest deal, but I can appreciate some nice drinkware. The bowl of Kimchi Fried rice came out first. It was a generous portion and the rice was cooked well, but I feel like it could've used some more kimchi. The eggs on top were cooked perfectly and added good texture to the dish. The next dish to come out was the HK French toast. The bread was nice and fluffy which paired well with a nice generous drizzle of condensed milk. I enjoyed this a lot. We also ordered scallion pancake, pork barbecue, and bossam baos. These were ok, I would probably pass on a return visit. I felt like the meat in the baos was a little tough though they did have decent flavor. The last entree was the smoked salmon and avocado croissant; I really enjoyed this. It had a generous helping of smoked salmon and avocado as well. The saltiness of the salmon paired well with the creamy and fatty avocado. The croissant was also nice and flaky. It was also served with a house salad which had a nice drizzle of dressing on it too. For dessert we ordered a Black Sesame Souffle Pancake. This was SO good. A few months ago I visited a place in Princeton that specialized in these Japanese-style pancakes and Tasty Junction's version was so much more enjoyable. I loved that it was served with a healthy scoop of ice cream. The pancake was airy and had a bounce to it. Each bite was so good and made even better with the ice cream. I'd definitely come back just for the pancakes. All in all Tasty Junction is a great spot tucked away in Glen Rock

One thing I really liked is how customizable the menu is. You can choose different creams and ice cream flavors on top - they have a great variety, including strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, taro, ube, and more. The service was great. Everyone was very kind and welcoming, and they let us know that the Japanese soufflé pancakes take about 15 minutes to prepare, which I was completely fine with since they're made fresh. The ambiance is chill and quiet. The café is tucked away on the side of the street - I actually missed it the first time and had to circle back. We were lucky to find street parking right in front, though there aren't many spots available. As for the pancakes themselves, I thought they were just okay. They're made with four eggs, and you can definitely taste them. That said, my daughter absolutely loved them, so it may just come down to personal preference.

Update to my earlier review from 2024…read more We dined in for the first time on a spring Friday evening at around 6 PM and we were pretty much were the only ones dining inside for a majority of our meal. However, they were plenty busy with takeout orders. Service was quick as the waiter took our order down and our food was out within MINUTES! I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, which was a pretty good ramen considering they weren't a restaurant that specialized in ramen. The ramen was very tasty and like any other I've ordered from legit ramen restaurants. My wife ordered a custom poke bowl, which we've ordered many times before for pickup. The bowl was MASSSIVE and seemingly much bigger than what they typically give for takeout orders, although their takeout poke bowls are very generous too. For our kids, we ordered the House Special Fried Rice, which came with eggs and Chinese sausage. It was a solid fried rice and we were quite surprised it came with Chinese sausage because it's an ingredient we rarely see used for fried rice entrees at restaurants. Overall, our dining experience here was good and we loved that it was nice and quiet. It never got super busy, but a few parties did come in after us. The bread and butter of their business is definitely takeout though.

Dress pants, dress shoes and light blue polo. Totally appropriate. They told me that they didn't have any coffee. At first this was just weird (the place was virtually empty, and it is a CAFE). I asked if I could use the bathroom, and the lady looked me up and down. Her eyes locked on my rainbow necklace, and she said "you can go across the street." I thought she had to kidding, but as I looked at her I saw an expression that held mild disgust for me on her face. "Public restroom across the street" ( which there isn't...she was directing me to the stop and shop across the street, another business). I couldn't help but understand and feel what she was saying as: We don't want people like you here. Go where you belong. As I walked out I couldn't help but notice the sign they display that says "Ridgewood, There is No Place Like Home." I can't believe this exists in 2025 Ridgewood.
