    Chicken Satay

Pa De Thai has good Thai food. It was kind of small and packed when I went with my friend, but the staff members quickly seated us when a table was cleaned and available. The tables inside were really close to other tables, so it felt a bit cozy. My friend and I split the Chicken Satay and Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango, and I got the Chicken Pad Kee Maow. The Chicken Satay came in a hefty size and was very flavorful on its own but dipping it into the cucumber salad sauce made it taste even better. I enjoyed my Chicken Pad Kee Maow, but I felt like there were too many vegetables compared to the noodles and chicken. The Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango was alright. I do not think mangoes are in season now because the mango we got was not as ripe as I wanted it to beit was a bit sour. I enjoyed the sticky rice and coconut milk, though!

For Thai food I can't say the taste is above average. The only thing that wowed me was the fried chives appetizer so I recommend that one. The mains had good portion sizes but the flavor just wasn't there. It's ok but not amazing compared to others I've tried. I had the pad see ew and pad kee mao. Both are staples of any Thai restaurant you go to. These dishes are my usual go tos. I will say service is super nice!

I very rarely give 1 or 2 Stars, but unfortunately, the food was so bad that I couldn't help it. It was a Delivery Order, and food was on time, so I can't even use that as an excuse for the poor quality. Bao Buns were dry and broken, with none of the pillowy texture they are famous for. Pork that came with it was dry, chewy, and lacked flavor. Pad Thai Noodles, neither looked or tasted like Pad Thai. No sweet/saucy flavor, and they had literally added Chilly Powder to the Noodles, which tasted so out of place. I have never had such bad Pad Thai in my life. Roti Canai was the only saving grace of this order, but only the Masamman Curry was good. Roti was not fluffy, and the portion was too small for almost $11

My Thai food craving was totally satisfied with this cheat meal. Oh oh, it seems to be happening quite often lately. lol. "Deep Fried Crispy Chicken Wontons". When going fried... Go BIG or don't even bother. These wontons are a super crispy yumminess! Also ordered the Chicken Dumpling Soup, so delicious. Their food is very tasty and best of all, they're BYOB. Bring yourself, friends and your favorite bottle. Dine inside, sit outdoors during nice weather or just order to go. Metered street parking is available. Enjoy! @vinopotato

This was by far the best Thai food restaurant I've been to. Pros: the customer service was amazing . From the time I walked in to the time I left . Everyone was soo amazingly friendly and kind. The food was hot and served quickly, their wasn't a long wait time at all. The manager was very welcoming and friendly... the food was delicious !!!!! very yummy ! I enjoyed myself :) I will definitely come back ! The Thai ice tea was refreshing Cons: none Price: $58 for 1 appetizer and 2 entrees (very affordable)

Limited street parking. Curry was sugary - not to my liking. Other than the above this place is great. Menu has alot of options. So many different thai tea drinks!! Good lunch deals. Plenty of dessert options on the street. Mango thai tea lemonade 5/5 so refreshing! Thai iced tea lemonade 5/5 Chicken pad thai 5/5 Tilapia with panaang curry 4/5 I didn't expect sugar in the sauce

Was looking for Noodle Soup and came across this place in EDGEWATER...... What a cozy trendy place. We started with the Papaya Salad which we devoured and I forgot to take a photo. Then Crispy Tofu. Very crunchy. The dipping sauce was perfect for the Crispy Tofu. We ordered the Mixed Noodle Soup with extra squid. The Noodle soup was tasty. It was delicious and just what I wanted. Then we Ordered A Seafood Pad Thai with extra Egg and less sauce. It was also delicious. Wish I had room in my stomach to order dessert. Definitely go back!!!!

I am surprised to see many negative reviews here, personally my experience at Pa De was awesome! I dropped by this spot on a Sunday night for dinner with a group of 6 and we were accommodated immediately. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was good! I got the steamed veggie dumplings which were delicious. I tried the chicken & shrimp dumplings as well and they were equally as good. So was their crispy duck! For dessert I got the coconut sticky rice with mango and I loved it! I loved the ambiance and how small and cozy the place felt! I would definitely go back for dinner.

This place is consistently good. We normally order from here. Our go to spot in Edgewater. Today I decided to come in and have an early dinner/late lunch. Food is even better in person than when you receive it to your home. I would highly recommend coming to the restaurant if you're able to, over ordering to your house. Ambience is cute, petite little candles on each table, lots of live plants and excellent service. And not to mention super quick service: from ordering food to getting served!

This is currently my favorite Thai spot. Always the beef pad kee mao and chicken pad thai. Springs rolls to start and thai iced tea of course.

The Noms: Ground pork basil rice- one of my default orders here... the meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned and mixed with rice and a fried egg is one of the most perfect comfort meals. Coconut sticky rice - I like to order this as a dine in order because then I can ask for more coconut cream, because they tend to be a bit skimpy with it. For deliveries, which I have done three times now... it's always very dry. In Conclusion: So after the first time my coconut sticky rice was too dry, I asked for extra coconut cream on the side for the second time but they forgot... then the third time they remembered but the packaging was so poorly done that it spilled everywhere in the bag. That time was the last straw... I can no longer order take out from them. It's awful. And when you call to give the owner feedback, he told me to return the food and he will remake it. Bruh. I'm on my lunch break at work, I've not got time for these shenanigans. When u tried to tell him I can't return the food, but please make sure to package my next order more securely... he hung up on me!! While the food is good and the restaurant clean... I will no longer order take out due to poor quality and the rudeness of the owner

Following several errands I entered Sala for lunch, table for one please. I did not wait for an eternity for a table or to be served. I was certainty lured by lavish high praise from Yelpers but I decided to give it the o' college. The tables are closely next to seat neighbor patrons where I was beside a heterosexual couple who were all giddy holding hands and eternally doomscrolling on their respective phones. The tables are separated by a transparent partition fends a fake privacy sense. Pad Kee Mao with shrimp $20.00 Mild spicy as it is certainly not for the faint hearted who can intake spicy foods as the fried flat Chow Fun noodles were solid and sufficient for quantity. This entrée is my default to order. It was served somewhat piping hot. I choose to add shrimp as my choice of protein to be included in this entree. There were abundant onions. However, there were very minimal basil leaves and the bell peppers were stump stems as vegetables. The fried flat Chow Fun flat broad noodles is the main ingredient of this entree as the leading role which were flavorful. I truly enjoyed this entree as it is prepared in the traditional way. I did not particularly care for the bits of scrambled egg as I regard it as irrelevant. The shrimp, sadly, appears overcooked for too chewy and heavy with mash texture. I usually do not intake spicy foods as it is not my cup of tea, but I am open to intake and immerse in ethnic food cuisines and cultural foods. Immediately, minutes later my stomach highly disagreed with this mild spicy food and visited the restroom facility. I did not finish this entrée as I fear my stomach will further disagree. Thai iced tea $6.00 The only salvation for the mild heat spicy index of my mouth was the Thai ice tea because it contains milk. I've searched for ways to cool one's mouth for eating spicy food which drinking milk, eating chocolate and drinking alcohol are effective methods - NOT water. Cold water is distributed to battle the excessive heat and July 2026 NYC humidity. I am utterly dismayed that food is still a victim of stagflation for Thai ice tea extortionate priced $6.00! Oh! I wished I had carried Altoids breath mints which gets the job of clearing the effects of spicy food mouth. This entrée ate my fill and sustained my hunger pangs for the whole evening. It was served chilled with very minimal ice in a pineapple shape glass. Customer service is average. One of my waitress appeared new and in training as she was very visible to be befuddled when I requested for chopsticks. I almost always do not consume Asian food with a fork as a cultural penchant. However, the underlying truth for reason of this female waitress's wayward behavior is the L.E.P. Limited English Proficiency. I did obtain my sales receipt as a keepsake. I did obtain a business card and takeout menu. Complimentary mints are distributed at the end of the meal. There are two restroom facility. The upper floor is not ADA accessible as there is one short flight of stairs. The entrance is hidden behind an outdoor dinning shed which is actually a hostess stand and can be easily missed. The dinning room decorum is very lavish with wood carpentry paneling walls and including ceiling, small chandeliers, ornate gold beaded wall painting frames, and wall to wall dark wood carpentry paneling in the bathroom. The bathroom door handle is a ornate duck object. There is a Dyson hand dryer. Sala Thai Restaurant is located at 307 Amsterdam Avenue (at West 74th and 75th Streets) in Upper West Side, Manhattan, NYC. It is very accessible via 1, 2, 3 local trains at 72nd Street subway station and B, C local trains at 72nd Street Central Park West followed by a reasonable walk.

Time for a stomach reset!…read more This restaurant is not for those who are sensitive to flavor and spice. If salt and pepper are the only two spices you can handle, this is not the restaurant, rather not the cuisine, for you. Thai food is based on a multitude of factors. Colors, variety, and spice. What I got here reflects all of that, even if my pictures show a large shade of brown. My first item is the Kao Soi Ped, a coconut curry noodle soup with duck and shallots. I was incredibly afraid to eat the whole thing because coconut curry is a natural laxative. However, the dry noodles and crispy (and rather tasty) duck probably saved me from potential embarrassment. The dish evolved from a chow mein into almost like a duck ramen, which actually made it fun to eat despite the insane flavor bomb it packed. My go-to at any Thai restaurant is a Drunken Noodle, better known as a Pad Kee Mao. It carries quite a punch to the mouth in flavor. There is also plenty of variance on the plate with ample noodles and chicken. The amount of vegetables to protein to noodle is appropriately proportionate to each other. Not one piece of this dish is out of place. The spice also countered the richness of the curry and to my surprise, I finished the whole thing. I never go to a Thai restaurant without ordering a Thai Iced Tea, and this one does it as well as one can make it. My advice is to order it and save it for later, when the heat and flavors need some temperance from taking over your stomach, throat, and later, perhaps your bowels. For Upper West Side standards, this is par for the course in terms of price and value. It is also close by the 1 train when it comes to convenience, but keep in mind the kitchen closes for a bit as the restaurant shifts from lunch mode to dinner mode. Good thing the restaurant is not far from a few distractions to keep you entertained if you want to dine here but do not live in the neighborhood. Or you could just plan your trip accordingly like any normal person and stop in after 4:30 pm if you want to come here for dinner. Enjoy the experience.

The service was pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful from the minute we walked in without a reservation. The ambiance and decor was gorgeous and took me out of NYC for a moment. The phenomenal taste of the first sip of the Thai Iced Tea that paired so well with the rest of my meal is the reason behind the first picture I took. For the apps we ordered my favorite- Chicken Curry Puffs and Chicken Satay. The Chicken Curry Puffs were soft and perfectly mashy on the inside and had a perfect crisp to the layered outside. The Chicken Satay was so different here and yet so savory served with this soft garlic bread. The sauces were so fresh, vibrant and distinct and added to both the appetizers. The peanut sauce had crushed peanuts and was such an accompaniment to texture. For the mains, we had the Chicken Pad Thai and the Braised Beef Short Rib in Penang Curry. The Pad Thai was a great standard and tasty with the crisp sprouts and zesty lime. This Braised Beef Short Rib is where it is at! One of their house specialties- the decadent flavors and textures of this dish is something that will be memorable and just the right touch of spice. Lovely bright orange sweet potatoes and beautiful green beans went so well together with the beef and curry. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and not defaulting to my usual. Warmed up Chicken Pad Thai on the pan over the stove today in a little bit of butter, this was as delicious as it was going to get today. I missed one of the most exquisite Thai Iced Teas I've had in a while, it truly set the tone of how great this late lunch was.
