Worst Thai food I ever had. Ordered Penang curry with tofu and it was so watery with 0 flavor. They literally cut tofu out of the block and throw it in there. By the time we received and ate the food, it tasted good and not soggy or mushy as some Thai deliveries can be. My Chicken Pad See Ew - a good amount of noodles and chicken mixed in woth eggs and flat noodles. There could have been more chicken pieces, overall, was a delicious dish. Thai Ice Tea was packaged well to avoid spilling. Tasty drink. Ordered a Shrimp appetizer. Came with a home made duck sauce. The appetizer was good, could have had more to the order. Pa De Thai has good Thai food. It was kind of small and packed when I went with my friend, but the staff members quickly seated us when a table was cleaned and available. The tables inside were really close to other tables, so it felt a bit cozy. My friend and I split the Chicken Satay and Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango, and I got the Chicken Pad Kee Maow. The Chicken Satay came in a hefty size and was very flavorful on its own but dipping it into the cucumber salad sauce made it taste even better. I enjoyed my Chicken Pad Kee Maow, but I felt like there were too many vegetables compared to the noodles and chicken. The Coconut Sticky Rice with Mango was alright. For Thai food I can't say the taste is above average. The only thing that wowed me was the fried chives appetizer so I recommend that one. The mains had good portion sizes but the flavor just wasn't there. It's ok but not amazing compared to others I've tried. I had the pad see ew and pad kee mao. It was a Delivery Order, and food was on time, so I can't even use that as an excuse for the poor quality. Bao Buns were dry and broken, with none of the pillowy texture they are famous for. Pork that came with it was dry, chewy, and lacked flavor. Pad Thai Noodles, neither looked or tasted like Pad Thai. It's Saturday afternoon and my friend asks me if I want to go on a double date later that evening to Pa De Thai Restaurant. Heck yeah I do - I've lived in the area most of my life and somehow I never stepped foot inside of it so of course my interest was peaked. First Impressions: 1) parking is super accessible it's near a free parking lot and if you're lucky you can grab a spot right out from. 2) it's BYOB (who doesn't love a BYOB spot?) 3) Staff was super friendly Once we arrived, we were seated almost immediately - the restaurant was busy, but not full. To start we ordered the steamed veggie dumplings which were delicious and the fried vegetable spring rolls. Needless to say everyone was quiet as they munched on their apps - a true sign of satisfaction. As our main we ordered (2) of the chicken pad Thai, (1) of the chicken Pad Kee Moaw, and (1) chicken Pad See Ew. Everything came out very tasty. By the time dessert rolled around we were so full. Was looking for Noodle Soup and came across this place in EDGEWATER...... What a cozy trendy place. We started with the Papaya Salad which we devoured and I forgot to take a photo. Then Crispy Tofu. This place is excellent! One of my friends recommended Pa De, and I've been obsessed with it since. I've been to the restaurant a few times and have also ordered. Every time, the food is perfect. I do feel like some dishes are better than others, but that is a matter of personal preference. For example, their massaman curry is excellent, while their pad kraprow is just okay. Notably delicious are their curry puffs and fried chicken dumplings. Regardless, the food is always fresh, and when I get delivery, it is always in a timely fashion. I am a huge fan of Thai food. I seriously go to Thai places in different city/town to find a good (sometimes hidden or hall in the wall kind of) place. I have an all-time favorite, very authentic, Thai place and it's hard to not compare new places with my favorite one. I recently moved to this area and needed to suffice my Thai craving. Glad I found this place as it satisfied me. 1. Red curry was lighter than I wanted. Plus, I wasn't really digging the veggies that were in the curry. They were little undercooked. 2. Papaya salad was on point! 3. Pad thai was very flavorful. I wish there were more crushed peanuts and more eggs in pad thai. It's hard to give this place any higher than a 1 star review after ordering take out and finding a re-used carton of rice with sauce stains on the inside, which is pretty appalling given the current circumstances with COVID and all. Further, when we called the restaurant to bring it up and spoke with the manager Bee, she kept insisting that no one ate the rice and that every carton was packed fresh. We thought it was reasonable to ask for a refund, at which point the manager started yelling over the phone and calling myself and my wife "ridiculous"...quite professional on her end, to say the least. Great spot in Edgewater. The food was very tasty and fresh. It is pretty busy with people doing takeout and dine in. It is a little small especially in covid times but you spread out 6 feet. My friend and I ended up waiting a long time for our food but the employees were very apologetic and offered us drinks and dessert on the house. We appreciated that. The strawberry basil lemonade was really good. I really enjoyed the red snapper meal. To end I had a fried ice cream(flavor green tea ) and I really enjoyed it. Contrary to my previous review, the lunch specials have totally come around! Let me state that i havent gotten delivery from Pa De in awhile. However, i hate to say it, but their delivery is still slow and the portions are smaller. That being said, i prefer to dine in when at Pa De. The fact that Pa De has lunch specials until 330 on a saturday, totally earned an extra star. For under $10 you get an entree and a choice of 1 app. Unfortunately, their choices are few. Ive tried the fried veggie dumplings and fried chicken wontons. Both seem home made to me and are a nice size. Favorite dishes by far are the green curry + pad thai. Moreover their staff is super rude, argues and fights with you and never accepts their mistake. First time they missed an item. Came here for a late dinner on Valentines Day and it was quite a meal! I'm glad we came at around 9 as the place was still quite busy and full when we arrived, but since most people were wrapping up on their meals the wait wasn't long. The restaurant is pretty small and cozy and the atmosphere was very nice. The service was quite quick and friendly and the snapper was absolutely delicious. The Pad Thai was a bit too sweet for my taste but I'm definitely looking forward to trying their other menu offerings. Parking is a bit difficult here though, might have to do with being Valentines day but on a cold night we still had to walk maybe 3-4 minutes away at the municipal parking lot nearby. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Ordered from this restaurant through Uber eats, and when my order never arrived...they were NO help and just shut me down. They said they couldn't help me because they don't have any info on the driver which is a total lie. How can they not?!!! There's always some type "ticket" from the driver to them, with the drivers info. It's plain and simple, they just didn't want to help!
