Ordered takeout for lunch and this food was terrible, tasted like watered down chinese . Absolutely no flavor at all. Chicken pineapple fried rice was soggy and barely 2 ozs chicken. The drunken noodles were horrible. They didn't even put any sauce or utensils in the bag. . Not recommended.

Ordered a few items for takeout. I called when they opened and they said they already ran out of brown rice, so that was a little strange. This time, we tried the somtum lao (which comes with a side of sticky rice), pad khee mao, and some sort of crispy sticky rice. I liked these menu items much better. The somtum lao was a little salty so the sticky rice definitely helps. Pad khee mao was standard, but my favorite was the crispy sticky rice. It was kind of like a fried rice with crispy bits, and it had a nice lime flavor to it. I still have yet to try their soups, so maybe that's what I'll get next time.

This is a more detailed review after multiple orders: Wow. I ordered Tom Woon Sen, Tom Yum Goong, and the Lao Fresh Rolls. - Tom Woon Sen: best Thai Lao dish I've eaten so far in the north NJ area (I'm not from NJ). Perfect texture with the Mung Bean Threads. I loved the Cilantro and Green onion mix with tomatoes. The sauce for this is to die for! - Tom Yum Goong: For the price it is great. Wish it was less sweet, had tomatoes, cilantro, and Thai basil. - Lao Fresh Rolls: The taste was on point. Whoever wrapped them needs ALOT of practice. THE WRAPS WERE BROKEN! All of them!!!! I eventually had to use a fork and knife to eat these. Again, sauce and taste on point but execution poorly delivered.

Pho Thai Lao Kitchen is a hidden gem we didn't expect to come across tonight. It is decorated in comfort. A menu with different varieties between Thai and Lao cuisines. Worth trying if you have never tried authentic Lao food. Our server was great. She asked for a few of the dishes if we wanted what level spice in our food. Ranging from 1 through 5, 5 being the highest. She checked up on us from time to time, it was a good, quiet evening. My go to is Pad See Ew. I wanted to try tofu as my protein instead of Chicken. My dish was big, packed with the flat noodles I love with ingredients such as Tofu, Squash, Carrots, Green beans, and Broccoli. I didn't like the heaviness on the sauce, but overall the dish was satisfactory. My husband and brother in law enjoyed their dishes. They chose their Lao dishes and can't wait to return to try more next time. All payments accepted, parking lot is available. We will be back soon.

I love this tiny little spot not far from my house. It is a real deal authentic spot that has items I've never seen or heard of. They also have many specials. A couple of favorites are the Lao crepe, Thai Chicken And Shrimp Dumpling, Tom Kha Gai Thai Style, Green Curry and Larb Gai. Staff is always so kind. This is a neighborhood gem.

Went to this place because there was a wait time nearby and we were starving. Boy I'm glad that happened. I'm a big pho enthusiast. Nothing beats the warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you eat a good wholesome pho (except for ramen, but that depends on the mood). This place is a hidden gem inside a mall. I love the concept of build your own pho. They have options of up to 3 or up to 5 mains other than the standard ingredients. You also get to choose either bone broth (among the best I've had!) and vegetable. The place is a lot bigger on the inside than what it looks, they have an open kitchen concept which I loved and the service was excellent. I know Edison stands out for all its amazing options of delicious food, and it gets difficult to select what to eat, but highly recommend giving this one a try at least once.

One of the few places in NJ where you can get authentic Laotian and Thai food. The name is a little misleading as it is definitely not a traditional pho place. The owners are friendly and the servers are quick to help navigate the interesting menu. Do yourself a favor, look at the daily specials first, there are some really cool and unique gems on there. We tried the Somtum Tard during our last visit, which included a variety of different dishes, kind of like a Laotian pu-pu platter! On the regular menu, the crepe is the standout, it's crispy, chewy, and that dipping sauce is heavenly. You have to end your meal with Khanom khrok, they are Thai coconut pancakes and they are scrumptious. They are an interesting mixture of savory and sweet, perfect way to end your meal here. Overall, most of the dishes are very good, I have ran into a few things that I just wasn't crazy about, however that's the price you pay for going out of your comfort zone!

Not the greatest Thai Food I have had but definitely not bad either. While all the items were cooked well, flavor-wise it could have been better. Especially the Pad Thai was just average, and I usually use it as baseline when ordering Thai Food. I would have given 4 Stars, if at least the price was not so high.

    Yum Woon Sen

Decent authentic Thai/Laotian restaurant with a few areas for improvement. I ordered the Yum Woon Sen ($20), which was a plate of clear noodles with a bunch of other stuff like meat and veggies. I can tolerate some spice but not too much, so I asked for only level 1 spiciness. Let me tell you, if this was a level 1, then I needed a level 0, because it was still way too spicy for me. Other than the spice itself, the food was not particularly flavorful. I'd say the quality was okay. The portion size was large, but if I ate it all, I think my tongue would've burned off. Dessert though was a completely different story. I ordered the Mango with Coconut Sticky Rice Berry ($9), which was one of the best of this classic Thai dessert that I've ever had. The mango was the perfect ripeness with none of those fibers inside at all - juicy and fresh. The purple sticky rice was delicious and coated in lots of delicious coconut cream. The restaurant itself doesn't have a particularly nice atmosphere - the lighting is not very good and there is some Thai/Laotian decor but personally I didn't find the place to look exactly nice or aesthetic (maybe that adds to the hold in the wall kind of vibe though). I do think the food is very authentic though. There was just one lady running the show but she was not particularly attentive, claiming that it was a very busy night (didn't seem crazy busy to me though). She was moderately friendly and the service speed was decent. Overall, the excessively spicy and otherwise not particularly flavorful noodle dish along with the slightly subpar atmosphere lead me to give Pho Thai Lao Kitchen 3 stars. The dessert alone nearly brought my rating up to 4 stars, but it wasn't quite enough for me (I'd give 3.5 stars if I could).

Not so good - curry puffs were tasteless, fried calamari were meh. Not good - duck salad had dry overcooked duck, green curry with beef was barely edible and had a funky sidekick flavor reminiscent of stale bucket water after the floors were mopped with beef that they threw in there, which was dry and super chewy. Water they serve is straight out of tap and I doubt it's even filtered as it had smell and taste that didn't have any hint of filtration. And a 20% automatic gratuity added to your bill for a group of 5 plus. Had to ask 1 waiter for a check 3 times. Got it finally after asking another waiter. First and last time for me in this establishment. Those posting 5 star reviews probably never had good Thai food. This place doesn't hold a candle to restaurants like Pimaan Thai or Wyckoff Thai. Lots of room here for improvement.

We were craving some sort of Asian cuisine, and I had had DD Thai bookmarked to try, so we headed to the restaurant. The small place was tucked away in a strip mall, just off the highway. We parked the car and managed to get into the restaurant without slipping on the massive amounts of black ice that had accumulated in the lot. The restaurant's decor was lacking in that the booths on the right side of the place had ripped upholstery and the seating on the left side was in better condition, but mismatched. Despite the furniture, the woman running the front of the house was very sweet, and the food was great! We started with the Curry Puff appetizer. The 3 large dumplings had been completely stuffed with a sweet chicken curry, while the fried, flaky exterior was a nice golden brown color and not at all greasy. My Pad See Ew with Chicken was very flavorful and perfectly cooked, though it could have used a tad more sauce. My companion felt the same about his Drunken Noodles, which he similarly scarfed up, though he would have preferred more spice. I have now tried several Thai restaurants in Bergen County and many of them have fallen short on delivering the flavorful impact I would expect from the cuisine. However, DD Thai was definitely one of the better ones in the area!

We looked at each other and said, "Let's give it a try for lunch." We're true foodies, never afraid to explore a menu, so of course we ordered a variety of dishes and we were blown away. When we first walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, and her staff was incredibly sweet. Their customer service made us feel instantly at home. Since it was lunchtime, we ordered from both the lunch specials and the regular menu. Before the food arrived, we asked the owner what style of Thai cooking they specialize in. She explained that their recipes come from the middle region of Thailand, near Chonburi. Central Thai cuisine is known for its beautiful balance of flavors sweet, salty, spicy, and tangy all working together in harmony. The dishes often have aromatic herbs, rich coconut-based sauces, fresh vegetables, and layered spices, creating food that feels both comforting and vibrant. After tasting everything, we understood exactly what she meant. The flavors were bold yet balanced, fragrant without being overwhelming, and incredibly satisfying. Here's what we enjoyed: Lunch Specials * Pad Khee Mao (Drunken Noodles) * Spicy Basil Sauce * Pad Thai Regular Menu * Tom Yum Goong * Masaman Curry Dessert * Banana Sticky Rice Drink * Thai Iced Tea Every single dish--not just one--was exceptional. The balance of flavors from the central Thai style truly shines through: the brightness of the herbs, the warmth of the spices, the creaminess of the curries, and the freshness of the vegetables. You can taste the care and tradition in every bite. This restaurant deserves to be known and celebrated, and I'm sharing photos and videos so you can see exactly why. We even asked if we could meet Chef Patrick to thank him personally, and he kindly came out to greet us. It was such a thoughtful moment and made the experience even more special.
