Super fresh ingredient, small shop with big flavors. My only complaint is that they close at 6 and I would love to grab banh mi later on in the day. Friendly employees and super quick service. sandwiches are ready in minutes

Delicious banh mi and coffee!! A lot of people were getting their sandwiches to go but we enjoyed ours in the seating area. Fantastic baguette and cold cuts with crisp veggies. We'll definitely be back when we are in the area. Service was great and quick!

An absolutely delicious Vietnamese banh mi Sandwich spot that could rival any of the places in New York city. Totally unexpected in Albany but this was definitely a very pleasant surprise that stood out amongst the other nondescript American bar food type lunch options in downtown albany. The bread was flaky soft and the fillings were all absolutely spot on down to the pate, pickle veggies, jalapeno for heat. If I could say one thing for them to work on is to make the iced Viet coffee stronger.

Banh Mi 47 provides smiling personalized, friendly & quick customer service with delicious food for your palate. This authentic Vietnamese food is a welcomed addition to Downtown Albany. Served up with amazing customer service and a smile The ambiance is very welcoming & the hand painted artworks are to be seen not told. A definite "Yes" when Downtown Albany!

This place is a solid concept. Who doesn't enjoy a good Banh Mi. I got the tofu with extra pickled vegetables. The tofu was perfectly fried, the sauce was flavorful, and the staff was friendly. The location is great and the interior is clean, modern, and cute. The reason this is not a 5 is because the sandwich was not well stuffed. Although flavorful, the amount of ingredients were light. I understand food costs and inflation have an impact on expenses, but I'd rather have paid $2 extra for more fillings. Otherwise, there is too much bread and not enough fillings. There was one long narrow cucumber strip and one sprig of cilantro. The amount of tofu was on the lighter side as well. Another option is to use the same amount of filling on a smaller bread.

Vegan Banh Mi: tofu, lemongrass, greens, cilantro and jalapeño. This was a previous sandwich which I got as takeout. Also great!

It's been a while since my last visit to Banh Mi. That's my loss, because the meals are great! This time, I was buying lunch for my husband and me. He had the #1 which includes ham and bbq roast pork. I had the #6 chicken-lemongrass sandwich. We added jalapeño to our sandwich, but I think the sandwiches had some spicy sauce on them to begin with. I could have handled even more "heat" to my meal but I was already plenty happy. The staff was fast. There was hardly any wait. We sat at a nice table in the window. I also had a lychee drink with popping boba. What delicious fun! Next time, I won't wait so long to get another awesome sandwich.

I have been craving for Vietnamese food and today was the day I decided to drive down around 20 miles so I can fulfill my craving for some French infused vietnamese submarine/sub that contains baguette, pickled vegetables, green onion, coriander/cilantro, a mighty wack of fresh chillies/jalapeños and drizzle of seasoning/sauce. My first experience eith Banh mi was in the streets of Hanoi and later Hoi An in Vietnam. Like any other sub, it all starts with bread.....and I loved the sub with right consistency of the bread (a Lil crunch on the outside, soft on the inside) with fresh ingredients making you feel light on your stomach. Though my check-ins are a lot of cafes, I'm not a coffee drinker. I only taste or take a sip of coffee unless I'm really sick and lose my taste for everything. However, I loved the Vietnamese coffee during my trip to vietnam. I tried their iced espresso at the restaurant and it failed to bring my taste buds on my to tongue its original Vietnamese coffee experience (may be because the one I had in Vietnam had alcohol and much more thicker) but note that a hardcore coffee drinker appreciated the taste of the coffee and finished it all. I'll go back to the restaurant to try their hot coffee. The menu is priced to be competitive and should be a good stop for a lunch for all the people working there. Unlike other businesses in the area, they are open weekends. The owners are graduates of a local college, Siena, that I went to as well. Hopefully your business along with other newer businesses on the street bring back some traffic and life to a dead downtown on a weekend. Keep up the great work.

Great crusty Bahn Mi served in short order by friendly staff. Tasty and delicious, reasonably priced. What else can you ask for?

After having Vietnamese sandwiches for years And being from a military Family who knows lots of Vietnamese veterans in my hometown of Lynnwood Washington the flavor and energy in this place bought me back, but unfortunately the sandwich was very skimpy... Not enough meat in the filing and not as moist as it could have been... But the flavor was on point. and if I did return I would just ask for double meat and vegetables.

Then came the pineapple fried rice with pork belly. Savory, caramelized pork belly met bright bursts of pineapple in a perfect sweet-salt balance. Fluffy rice studded with peas, carrots, and ribbons of egg. My three year old son dove in without hesitation, happily scooping forkfuls of rice and pineapple like he had discovered treasure. No negotiations. Just joy. Fifteen minutes later, box in hand, the real event began. Across melting ice. A sharp jaywalk. A cut through the gas station. A full sprint toward the train station as the gates threatened to close and my family waited. It was an unofficial, record-breaking mile fueled entirely by fried rice ambition. Once the cold air finally left my lungs, I cracked open the box. Steam rose into the winter air. The smell alone was victory. I ate every last grain on that train, a triumphant feast earned the hard way. My wife was not impressed with how close I cut it. I, however, stand by the decision. Some meals are worth the sprint.

A tea leaf salad or Lat phat thoat has "Crispy pea, peanut, sesame seed and garlic oil with ground pickle tea leaf, cabbage and tomato." It was a little funky, a bit like kimchi, with a wonderful textural crunch provided by the peanuts. Palata (deep fried layered & flattened dough), commonly served at street food stalls, is reminiscent of scallion pancakes (without the scallion). In this case, it was served with a chicken, potato, and dahl stew. The saltiness of the stew was tamed by the layered and fatty dough. I might skip the chicken dumplings because those were boiled from frozen, store bought items. The pandan dessert, similar to a bubble tea, was an added extra. I'd definitely go again.

Upon entering, the girl behind the counter just stared at us. No greeting. No direction on where to sit. No smile. We assumed it was self seating so we found a booth. She came over, poured our waters, still said nothing. We had about 45 mins until the restaurant closed so I'm unsure of what the cold attitude was for, as there were still 4-5 other patrons there eating as well. My friend is a vegetarian and ordered the veggie dumplings, and I had the same but with meat. Once the plates arrived, the one set in front of me was green, and his not. I figured I would double check to make sure we had the correct ones - I didn't want him to end up eating the meat ones if it could be avoided. Sure enough, the plates were mixed up. Honestly seemed to be done purposefully because it's very clear they are 2 different orders. The texture was chewy/foamy and they also tasted like old grease. Disappointing but we still had soups to look forward to. Our ramen finally arrived and I was hoping it would be the redemption moment of the evening but it wasn't. It really lacked any depth of flavor. Again the meat was chewy instead of tender. More distracting was how we awkwardly felt rushed as the server was shutting off lights and music...again...with at least 15 mins until the kitchen closing time. She seemed annoyed we asked for to go containers. At no point did she check in with us, refill waters, or even crack any resemblance of a smile. I used to love this little spot when I was in college. It was cozy, delicious, inviting. Couldn't have had more of the opposite experience this time around! And for this reason I would not return. Many people get take out from here which I will admit, we have done twice but we really enjoy dining in at the restaurant because it's fun. The staff is really nice and extremely helpful. When we say vegan they know what we mean which is difficult sometimes because a lot of people have misconceptions about what that entails. You have to think about what ingredients the noodles were made with, do they contain egg or not. What sauces are traditionally used, is it a fish sauce? Is something cooked with butter? So just saying no meat, eggs, or dairy doesn't always make people think about everything but this restaurant gets it. Also people ask well what about gluten? It has nothing to do with being vegan it is related to having celiac disease. Bottom line, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, they know what is in their food and they will tell you or offer suggestions to help you out.
